A series of conjugated hyperbranched polymers, hyperbranched copolymers, and linear polymers containing 2‐pyran‐4‐ylidenemalononitrile (acceptor) and triphenylamine/fluorene (donor) units were synthesized and characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, thermogravimetric analyses, differential scanning calorimetry, gel permeation chromatography, UV–visible, photoluminescence, and cyclic voltammetry measurements. All the polymers show red‐light emission in the range of 566–656 nm both in solution and in solid state. The quantum efficiency of the polymers was in the range of 56–82%. Among the six polymers synthesized, only polymers containing fluorene units show Tg and polymers based on triphenylamine not exhibit Tg. The band gap of these polymers were found to be reasonably low; hyperbranched copolymer containing fluorene unit shows lowest band gap of 2.18 eV due to the stabilization of LUMO energy level by the electron withdrawing ? CN groups. The thermal and solubility behavior of the polymers were found to be good. All the EL spectra of the devices (indium‐tin oxide/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)/polymer/2,9‐dimethyl‐4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline/tris(8‐hydroxyquinoline)aluminum)/LiF/Al) show red‐light emission, and the device fabricated with P3 and P4 shows maximum luminance and luminous efficiency of 4104 cd m?2 and 0.55 cd Å?1 and 3696 cd m?2 and 0.47 cd Å?1, respectively, indicates that they had the best carrier balance. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Particle migration in a horizontal flow of dilute suspension through a vertical slot with porous walls is studied using the two-continua approach. The lateral migration is induced by two opposite effects: an inertial lift force due to particle settling and directed toward the slot centre-line, and a drag due to leak-off entraining particles toward the walls. An expression for the inertial lift on a settling particle in a horizontal channel flow found recently is generalized to the case of a low leak-off velocity. The evolution of an initial uniform particle concentration profile is studied within the full Lagrangian approach. Four migration regimes are found differing by the direction of particle migration and numbers of equilibrium positions. Conditions of the regime change and a critical value of dimensionless leak-off velocity for particle deposition on the walls are obtained analytically. Suspension flows with zones where the particle concentration is zero or increases infinitely, are studied numerically.  相似文献

This paper presents the optimization of unsteady Navier–Stokes flows using the variational level set method. The solid–liquid interface is expressed by the level set function implicitly, and the fluid velocity is constrained to be zero in the solid domain. An optimization problem, which is constrained by the Navier–Stokes equations and a fluid volume constraint, is analyzed by the Lagrangian multiplier based adjoint approach. The corresponding continuous adjoint equations and the shape sensitivity are derived. The level set function is evolved by solving the Hamilton–Jacobian equation with the upwind finite difference method. The optimization method can be used to design channels for flows with or without body forces. The numerical examples demonstrate the feasibility and robustness of this optimization method for unsteady Navier–Stokes flows.Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper proposes a numerical method for analyzing whipping using a fully coupled hydroelastic model. The numerical analysis method utilizes a 3-D Rankine panel method, 1-D/3-D finite element methods, and a 2-D generalized Wagner model, which are strongly coupled in the time domain. The computational results were compared with those of a model test of an 18 000-TEU containership. The slamming pressures and whipping responses to regular waves for bow flare and stern slamming were compared. Furthermore, the slamming pressure was decomposed into its dynamic and static components. The numerical and experimental models produced similar results. In addition, the effects of the discretization and geometric approximation of the 2-D slamming sections were investigated.  相似文献

In this paper, we study new nonlocal geometric equations which are related to tomographic reconstruction when using the level-set approach. We treat two additional difficulties which make the work original. On one hand, the level lines do not evolve along normal directions and the nonlocal term is not of “convolution type”. On the other hand, the speed is not necessarily bounded compared to the nonlocal term. We prove an existence and uniqueness result for our equation.  相似文献

Conventional approaches for solving the production lot size problems are by using the differential calculus on the long-run average production-inventory cost function with the need to prove optimality first. This note presents a simple algebraic method to replace the use of calculus for determining the optimal lot size. This study refers to the approach used by Grubbström and Erdem [Grubbström, R.W., Erdem, A., 1999. The EOQ with backlogging derived without derivatives, International Journal of Production Economics 59, 529–530] and extends it to the model examined by Chiu and Chiu [Chiu, S.W., Chiu, Y.-S.P., 2006. Mathematical modelling for production system with backlogging and failure in repair. Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research 65(6), 499–506]. This paper demonstrates that the lot size solution and the optimal production-inventory cost of an imperfect EMQ model can be derived without derivatives. As a result, the practitioners or students with little or no knowledge of calculus may be able to manage or understand with ease the realistic production systems.  相似文献

Standard Galerkin finite element methods (GFEM) lack stability in solving advection-dominated solute transport in porous media. They usually require prohibitively fine grids and extremely small time steps to solve for advection-dominated problems. The algebraic subgrid-scale stabilized (ASGS) finite element method has been proved to overcome such problems for single-species reactive transport. Its potential for dealing with multicomponent reactive transport has not yet been explored. Here we present a numerical formulation of ASGS for steady and transient multicomponent reactive transport. Subgrid-scale transport equations are solved first by using an ASGS approximation and their solutions are substituted back into the grid-scale equations. A sequential iteration approach (SIA) is used to solve for coupled transport and chemical equations. Coupling of ASGS and SIA, ASGS+SIA, has been implemented in a reactive transport code, CORE2D V4, and verified for conservative solute transport. ASGS+SIA has been tested for a wide range of 1-D transient multicomponent reactive transport problems involving different types of chemical reactions such as: (1) Kinetically controlled aqueous species degradation, (2) Kinetic mineral dissolution, (3) Serial-parallel decay networks, and (4) Cation exchange and pyrite oxidation at local equilibrium. ASGS+SIA always provides accurate solutions and therefore offers an efficient option to solve for advection-dominated multicomponent reactive transport problems.  相似文献
