Homotopy Analysis Approach to Periodic Solutions of a Nonlinear Jerk Equation

The homotopy analysis method is applied to seek periodic solutions of a nonlinear jerk equation involving the third-order time-derivative. The periodic solutions can be approximated via an analytical series. An auxiliary parameter is introduced to control the convergence region of the solution series. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the homotopy analysis approach. The examples indicate that, by choosing a proper value of the auxiliary parameter, the first few terms in the solution series yield excellent results.

多孔脆性介质冲击波压缩破坏的细观机理和图像

本文采用一种具有良好定量性质的离散元模型研究了带孔洞的各向同性脆性介质在细观尺度上的压缩破坏特征. 通过对孤立孔洞、三种简单的孔洞排布方式和大量孔洞随机排布等几种情况的模拟, 认识到了剪切破坏和局域拉伸破坏是冲击波压缩下多孔介质的基本破坏模式; 孔洞之间的损伤贯通会促进孔洞在较低应力下发生塌缩, 但损伤区的应力松弛过程却会对一定范围内的介质起到损伤屏蔽作用; 不同区域中损伤促进和损伤屏蔽的综合效果是在多孔脆性介质中形成一种高损伤区与低损伤区间错排布的奇特损伤分布. 本文的研究结果为深入理解脆性材料冲击波压缩破坏的演化过程和机理提供了细观尺度上的初步物理图像.     

Dynamic Fracture Toughness and Failure Mechanisms of ZnO Whiskers Secondary Reinforced Composites

Quasi-static and dynamic fracture properties and damage mechanism of glass fiber polymer composites embeaaea with different mass percentages of ZnO whiskers are investigated by using an Instron Testing machine and a Split- Hopkinson pressure bar. According to the experimental results and linear fracture mechanics, the quasi-static fracture toughness Kic and the dynamic fracture toughness Kid under various impact velocities of specimens are obtained. Fracture mechanism is investigated by fractography analysis with a scanning electron microscope. The experimental results show that the mass percentage of ZnOw has little influence on the quasi-static fracture toughness, but a little influence on the dynamic fracture toughness and time of initial fracture point of specimens by the reason of various fracture mechanisms.     

Liquid Film on Unsteady Stretching Sheet with General Surface Temperature and Viscous Dissipation

We study the effects of viscous dissipation on flow and heat transfer in a thin liquid film on an unsteady stretching sheet. A general surface temperature is taken into consideration. The velocity and temperature fields are solved using the homotopy analysis method. The results show that the increasing values of the Eckert number can increase temperature distribution and the heat transfer rate.     

Study of scalar meson a0（980） from B → a0（980）π decays

In this paper, we calculate the branching ratios and the direct CP-violating asymmetries for decays B^0 → a0^0（980）π^0, a0^＋ （980）π^-, a0^-（980）π^＋ and B^- → a0^0 （980）π^-, a0^- （980）π^0 by employing the perturbative QCD （pQCD） factorization approach at the leading order. We found that （a） the pQCD predictions for the branching ratios are around （0.4-2.8） × 10^-6, consistent with currently available experimental upper limits; （b） the CP asymmetries of B^0→ a0^0（980）π^0 and B^- → a0^- （980）π^0 decays can be large, about （70-80）% for α= 100°.     

Probing Quark Loop Effects on Dressed Gluon Propagator

We study the quark loop effects on the dressed gluon propagator and also on the quark propagator itself. We find that the gluon propagators are different in two phases. The quark mass effects on the gluon propagator are small but not negligible. We also study the current quark mass dependence on the bag constant.     

CP Violation in ∧b → ∧l^＋l^- Decay in the Four-Generation Standard Model

We present the first study of CP asymmetry in ∧b → ∧l^＋l^- decay when a new weak phase comes through the extension of three-generation standard model to the four-generation standard model. Taking ｜Vt′s^＊Vt′b｜ = 0.01, 0.02, 0.03 with phase {60° - 120°}, which is consistent with the b → sl^＋l^- rate and the Bs mixing parameter △mBs, we find out that CP asymmetry is quite sensitive to the existence of fourth generation. It can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, in particular, to search for the fourth generation quarks （t′, b′） via their indirect manifestations in loop diagrams.
