Synthesis and biological activity of certain amino-derivatives of 5α-steroids

Certain 17β-aminoderivatives of 5α-steroids based on tigogenin were synthesized and their antitumor activity was studied. Synthesis and properties of a poly(diphenylacetylene) containing carbazolyl groups

1-(p-N-Carbazolylphenyl)-2-phenylacetylene (p-CzDPA) was polymerized by TaCl₅–co-catalyst systems (cocatalysts: n-Bu₁Sn, Et₃SiH, and 9BBN) to produce acetone-insoluble polymers in about 60-70% yields. Poly(p-CzDPA) was a yellowish-orange solid, most part of which was soluble in toluene, chloroform, etc., and its weight-average molecular weights were around 4×10⁵. This polymer formed a tough film by solution casting, and was thermally very stable (the onset temperature of weight loss in TGA in air 470°C). The oxygen per-meability coefficient of the polymer at 25°C was lower than two barrers. The present polymer showed photoconductivity and redox activity. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

A New and Efficient Synthetic Method and Antibacterial Activities of Oxazolidinone Analogues

A series of novel oxazolidinone analogues were prepared by a new and efficient synthetic method and their antibacterial activities were determined. These compounds wer echaracterized by LC-MS and ^1H NMR.

Synthesis of 1,2,4-substituted hexahydropyridazines and X-ray structural investigation of 4-hydroxyimino-2-methyl-1-phenethylhexahydropyridazine

A series of new 1,2,4-substituted hexahydropyridazines was prepared in order to evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively the role and influence of substituents on the biological activity of this system. An X-ray structural investigation of 4-hydroxyimino-2-methyl-1-phenethylhexahydropyridazine was performed. The compounds considered exhibit moderate local anesthetic, antihistaminic, and anticonvulsive activity.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Hydrazones and new Oximes of 4-Aminobicyclo[2.2.2]octanones and their Antiprotozoal Activities

Summary. 4-Aminobicyclo[2.2.2]octan-2-ones and -ols showed activity against the causative organisms of East African sleeping sickness and Malaria tropica. Several imino derivatives of the ketones were more active. Now hydrazono analogues and 3-hydroximino derivatives of the ketones and alcohols were synthesized. The structures of the obtained isomers were elucidated by NMR spectroscopy. A single phenylhydrazone exhibited quite good antitrypanosomal activity in the range of already known imino analogues.     

Synthesis, Characterization and the Effect of Glucose-lowering of Guanidino Acid Oxovanadium（Ⅳ） Complexes

Two guanidino acid oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complexes have been synthesized. Preliminary tests in vivo have shown that the two title complexes all display lowering glucose activity in vivo to STZ-rats. The effect of glucose-lowering of guanidino acetic acid oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complex in vivo is higher than that of guanidino propanoic acid oxovanadium(Ⅳ) complex.     

Phenol methylation over CrPO4 and CrPO4?AlPO4 catalysts

The vapor-phase catalytic alkylation of phenol with methanol and dimethyl carbonate on a series of differently prepared CrPO₄ (Cr/P=1) and CrPO₄-AlPO₄ (CrAIP) catalysts, has been studied at different temperatures (473–673 K). The reaction is first order in phenol, giving a mixture of O- and C-alkylated products (C-alkylation taking place preferentially at theortho-position). Moreover, dimethyl carbonate is a better methylating agent than methanol.
