The tracer diffusion of 3-, 4-, and 12-arm polystyrene (PS) stars in poly(vinyl methyl ether) (PVME) gels has been measured by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The intensity correlation functions were analyzed by two methods. One was that employed previously in a DLS study of linear PS diffusion in PVME gels [N. A. Rotstein and T. P. Lodge, Macromolecules, Vol. 24. p. 1316 (1992)], and the other was based on consideration of possible nonergodicity effects [P. N. Pusey and W. van Megen, Physica A, Vol. 157, p. 705 (1990)]. Both methods gave equivalent results, suggesting that nonergodicity plays a small role in this system. This conclusion is not unreasonable, given that the PVME gels are almost isorefractive with the solvent (toluene), and that the signal is dominated by scattering from the PS chains. The resulting star diffusivities are consistently less than or equal to those for linear probes of comparable size, with the difference increasing with molecular weight. The diffusivities are also less than or equal to those obtained for the same stars in PVME solutions. A weak dependence on the number of arms is also observed. Finally, the mobility of a given star in a gel is much more sensitive to variations in the average molecular weight between cross-links than is the mobility of a linear chain. All of these features in the data are broadly consistent with the reptation hypothesis. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Phase structures of immiscible polypropylene (PP)/polystyrene (PS) blends with different volume proportions, PP90/PS10, PP80/PS20, PP70/PS30, PP60/PS40, PP50/PS50, PP40/PS60, PP30/PS70, PP20/PS80, PP10/PS90, were observed by means of scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). The zero shear viscosities of the blends were determined according to a modified Carreau model by fitting the curves of static shear rate sweeps of blends tested at 190°C in a Stress Tech Fluids Rheometer. The results showed that the compositional dependence of zero shear viscosity of PP/PS deviated greatly from linear or log‐linear additivity. When PS was dispersed in a PP continuous phase, the blends showed negative deviation, while for blends with PP dispersed in a PS matrix, positive deviation was generated. When different theoretical equations of Nielsen, Utracki, Taylor, Frankel‐Acrivos (FA), Choi‐Schowalter (CS), and Han‐King (HK) were used to fit the experimental data of zero shear viscosities of blends, none of them was suitable for PP/PS blends. These experimental phenomena may result from the complex phase structures of the blends and their response to shear conditions, which are discussed in detail and compared with the experimental analysis.  相似文献

Poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) microspheres were prepared by a solvent evaporation method based on an oil/water emulsion. The effect of the mass ratio of PLLA and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) on the formation of the microspheres was discussed, and the influence of extraction speed of dichloromethane on the microsphere morphology was also studied. Moreover, the influences of the PLLA concentration and the volume ratio of water phase to dichloromethane phase were investigated. The results showed that stable microspheres can be obtained under the conditions that the mass ratio of PLLA to PVA is 20:1. Porous microspheres were obtained under faster evaporating speed of dichloromethane. The microsphere size increased with increasing PLLA concentration. The microsphere size also increased with the increase of the volume ratio of water phase to dichloromethane phase.  相似文献

Summary: In an attempt to collect “meaningful” experimental data in cross-linking nitroxide-mediated radical copolymerization of stryene and divinyl benzene, a Bayesian design approach was used to derive optimal experimental sequences to be carried out in the laboratory. Since a considerable amount of prior knowledge about this polymerization system was already available from previous experimental and modeling efforts, application of the Bayesian design of experiments seemed like a perfect approach. In addition, the implementation of the Bayesian approach would, in principle, result in running fewer experiments, hence saving considerable time and resources.  相似文献

Prolate spheroidal wavelets (PS wavelets) were recently introduced by the authors. They were based on the first prolate spheroidal wave function (PSWF) and had many desirable properties lacking in other wavelets. In particular, the subspaces belonging to the associated multiresolution analysis (MRA) were shown to be closed under differentiation and translation. In this paper, we introduce periodic prolate spheroidal wavelets. These periodic wavelets are shown to possess properties inherited from PS wavelets such as differentiation and translation. They have the potential for applications in modeling periodic phenomena as an alternative to the usual periodic wavelets as well as the Fourier basis.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate when every simple module has a projective (pre)envelope. It is proven that (1) every simple right R-module has a projective preenvelope if and only if the left annihilator of every maximal right ideal of R is finitely generated; (2) every simple right R-module has an epic projective envelope if and only if R is a right PS ring; (3) Every simple right R-module has a monic projective preenvelope if and only if R is a right Kasch ring and the left annihilator of every maximal right ideal of R is finitely generated.  相似文献

为了获得低温下PSⅡ颗粒复合物色素分子间的能量传递信息,运用荧光激发谱及荧光发射谱对273 K温度时不同波长光激发下菠菜的PSⅡ颗粒复合物的荧光光谱特性进行了研究,分析得出荧光强度的大小与激发光的波长有关,在实验所采用的激发波长中,436 nm的光激发产生的荧光强度最大,520 nm的最小.在能量传递过程中Chl a分子的荧光效率最高,Chl b分子次之.结合吸收谱分析还发现在PSⅡ颗粒复合物中至少存在四种具特征吸收的Chl分子: Chl a661660, Chl a/b672669,670,Chl a682680,Chl a690687.对436 nm光激发所得到的荧光发射谱进一步经高斯解析后得到五个光谱组分:661 nm,672 nm,682 nm,690 nm,730 nm,所占的比例分别为4.75%,9.89%,43.18%,22.08%,20.10%.  相似文献

α4/7-Conotoxin LvIA is an isoform-selective inhibitor of the α3β2 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. An efficient strategy for the synthesis of this toxin is critical to advancing its utility as a probe for receptor function and as a potential pharmaceutical lead target. On-resin methods for peptide synthesis offer potential synthetic advantages; however, strategies for on-resin formation of multiple disulfides have historically been low-yielding. Here, we harness the reactivity of the Allocam protecting group and employ a 3-amino acid spacer strategy to synthesize α4/7-conotoxin LvIA via three different on-resin strategies, each of which results in an isolated yield higher than previous fully on-resin approaches.  相似文献
