Under some general continuous and compact conditions, the existence problems of fiked points andd coupled fixed points for increasing operators are studied. an application, we utilize the results obtained to study the existence of solutions for differential inclusions in Banach spaces.     

Fibres of width 3 ordered sets

We show that in an ordered setP of width 3 there always exists a fibre (i.e., a subset intersecting each maximal nontrivial antichain) of size at most 11/18|P|. This improves previously known results.Research supported by Polish KBN Grant 2 2037 92 03.     

Properties of holomorphic Wiener functions —skeleton,contraction, and local Taylor expansion

Summary We show that each holomorphic Wiener function has a skeleton which is intrinsic from several viewpoints. In particular, we study the topological aspects of the skeletons by using the local Taylor expansion for holomorphic Wiener functions.Supported in part by the Grant-in-Aid for Science Research 03740120 Min. Polynomial decay rate for the dissipative wave equation

Using Fourier integral operators with special amplitude functions, we analyze the stabilization of the wave equation in a three-dimensional bounded domain on which exists a trapped ray bouncing up and down infinitely between two parallel parts of the boundary.     

On the Log-Laplace Equation for Nonlocal Operators Generating Sub-Markovian Semigroups

We consider the semilinear Cauchy problem for a class of pseudo-differential operators generating sub-Markovian semigroups. Solutions of such problems with negative definite nonlinearity play an important role in constructing branching measure-valued processes. We establish local existence and uniqueness of solutions in the context of the Dirichlet space associated to the problem. Comparison and global properties of solutions are also studied. Partially finite convex programming,Part I: Quasi relative interiors and duality theory

We study convex programs that involve the minimization of a convex function over a convex subset of a topological vector space, subject to a finite number of linear inequalities. We develop the notion of the quasi relative interior of a convex set, an extension of the relative interior in finite dimensions. We use this idea in a constraint qualification for a fundamental Fenchel duality result, and then deduce duality results for these problems despite the almost invariable failure of the standard Slater condition. Part II of this work studies applications to more concrete models, whose dual problems are often finite-dimensional and computationally tractable.     

Path continuity of fractional Dirichlet functionals

We prove that the quasi continuous version of a functional in E^p_r is continuous along the sample paths of the Dirichlet process provided that p>2, 0<r?1 and pr>2, without assuming the Meyer equivalence. Parallel results for multi-parameter processes are also obtained. Moreover, for 1<p<2, we prove that a n parameter Dirichlet process does not touch a set of (p,2n)-zero capacity. As an example, we also study the quasi-everywhere existence of the local times of martingales on path space.     

Horizontal lift of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process over Riemannian path space

In this paper we give a representation formula for the heat semigroup on adapted vector fields by the horizontal lift of Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process over Riemannian path space.     

On divisibility properties of certain multinomial coefficients—II

A recent conjecture of Myerson and Sander concerns divisibility properties of certain multinomial coefficients. We obtain results in this direction by further pursuing a line of attack developed earlier by the first author.
