High-performance InGaAs/InGaAlAs multiple-quantum-well vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) with InGaAlAs/InP distributed Bragg reflectors are proposed for operation at the wavelength of . The lasers have good heat diffusion characteristic, large index contrast in DBRs, and weak temperature sensitivity. They could be fabricated either by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) or by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) growth. The laser light-current characteristics indicate that a suitable reflectivity of the DBR on the light output side in a laser makes its output power increase greatly and its lasing threshold current reduce significantly, and that a small VCSEL could output the power around its maximum for the output mirror at the reflectivity varying in a broader range than a large VCSEL does. 相似文献

Broadband arrayed waveguide gratings on InP are presented using a novel S-shape design. This design was utilized to accommodate
the large free spectral range required for broadband operation. Four and eight channel AWGs with a wavelength channel spacing

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the feasibility of a newly developed hyperspectral fundus imaging camera with
a liquid crystal tunable filter. The intensities of different wavelengths of light transmitted through an artery, vein, and
the area surrounding these vessels and reflected out were measured, and the differential spectral absorptions were analyzed.
Measurements were made from 16 normal eyes and from two artificial capillaries. The ratios of absorption (ROA) of arteries
to veins from 500 to 580 nm (range 1) and from 600 to 720 nm (range 2) were calculated. For all eyes, the ROArange1 was larger than ROArange2. The ROA obtained from the artificial capillary filled with blood saturated with oxygen or nitrogen was similar to that of
simulated data of oxy- and deoxyhemoglobin extinction rate. Most ROAs of human eyes were lower than those of the simulated
data and the artificial capillaries. Oxygen saturation analysis by hyperspectral fundus imaging of retinal vessels were qualitatively
in agreement with thein vitro analysis or simulated values. However, further improvements are necessary to evaluate the oxygen saturation quantitatively

The line broadening of gas absorption spectrum is a significant but unknown factor in traditional demodulation of wavelength modulation spectroscopy, which is a kind of tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy in weak absorption cases. In this paper, another signal demodulation method based on some simple algebraic operations with the amplitudes of the zero-, second-, and fourth-order harmonics was proposed. With this method the effect of spectrum broadening could be selfeliminated. That makes the amplitude of the demodulated signal is irrelevant to the broadening, and enables the direct and fast measurement without complex simulations and curve fittings in traditional method. 相似文献

Photocurable finishes should be extensively used for industrial wood joinery in the near future even if some technical problems
have still to be solved and if the durability of the finishing system has to be enhanced. In a previous work, we studied the
curing reaction of acrylic resins containing some particular photoinitiators by photocalorimetry and showed that curing can
be achieved under daylight with these compounds (i.e. solving the problem of restoration on site). The aim of this work is

An unexpected type of primary crystal nucleation is described, involving spinodal decomposition (SD) type microphase separation due to the orientation fluctuations of rigid segments prior to crystal nucleation. This type of mechanism was found by the present authors about 10 years ago, and recently, it was theoretically revealed by Olmsted et al. to be one of three types of primary crystal nucleation: the well-known homogeneous crystal nucleation directly from the liquid–crystal coexistence domain, which occurs at higher temperatures above the binodal temperature T b , crystal nucleation after binodal microphase separation between T b and spinodal temperature T s , and that after SD below T s . The detailed experimental results for the spinodal-type crystal nucleation, especially the temperature dependence of characteristic wavelength in SD, are explained as well. 相似文献

Wavelength selection framework for classifying food and pharmaceutical samples into multiple classes

Near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is an efficient, low‐cost analytical technique widely applied to identify the origin of food and pharmaceutical products. NIR spectra‐based classification strategies typically use thousands of equally spaced wavelengths as input information, some of which may not carry relevant information for product classification. When that is the case, the performance of predictive and exploratory multivariate techniques may be undermined by such noisy information. In this paper, we propose an iterative framework for selecting subsets of NIR wavelengths aimed at classifying samples into categories. For that matter, we integrate Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and three classification techniques: k‐Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA). PCA is first applied to NIR data, and a wavelength importance index is derived based on the PCA loadings. Samples are then categorized using the wavelength with the highest index and the classification accuracy is calculated; next, the wavelength with the second highest index is inserted into the dataset and a new classification is performed. This forward‐based iterative procedure is carried out until all original wavelengths are inserted into the dataset used for classification. The subset of wavelengths leading to the maximum accuracy is chosen as the recommended subset. Heparin is widely used to anticoagulation treatment in clinic, while the overdoses of heparin can cause potentially catastrophic complications. Thus, the selective and sensitive detection of heparin is of great importance. Herein, a novel water-soluble AIE-based fluorescent probe (TIBI) with red emission (650 nm) has been rationally developed to detect heparin by the electrostatic-interaction and ion replacing strategy. TIBI exhibited excellent selectivity and low detection limit (0.08 μM) for detection of heparin. Moreover, TIBI was successfully applied to detect heparin in complicated serum samples with satisfactory results. This study holds great promise for real time monitoring heparin in clinical application. 相似文献
