We study the nonclassical properties and algebraic characteristics of the negative binomial states introduced by Barnett recently.
The ladder operator formalism and displacement operator formalism of the negative binomial states are found and the algebra
involved turns out to be the SU(1,1) Lie algebra via the generalized Holstein-Primarkoff realization. These states are essentially Perelomov's SU(1,1) coherent states. We reveal their connection with the geometric states and find that they are excited geometric states.
As intermediate states, they interpolate between the number states and geometric states. We also point out that they can be
recognized as the nonlinear coherent states. Their nonclassical properties, such as sub-Poissonian distribution and squeezing
effect are discussed. The quasiprobability distributions in phase space, namely the Q and Wigner functions, are studied in detail. We also propose two methods of generation of the negative binomial states. d

Analytical solutions of the two-dimensional triangular and square lattice Boltzmann BGK models have been obtained for the plane Poiseuille flow and the plane Couette flow. The analytical solutions are written in terms of the characteristic velocity of the flow, the single relaxation time , and the lattice spacing. The analytic solutions are the exact representation of these two flows without any approximation. Using the analytical solution, it is shown that in Poiseuille flow the bounce-back boundary condition introduces an error of first order in the lattice spacing. The boundary condition used by Kadanoffet al. in lattice gas automata to simulate Poiseuille flow is also considered for the triangular lattice Boltzmann BGK model. An analytical solution is obtained and used to show that the boundary condition introduces an error of second order in the lattice spacing. 相似文献

This paper addresses the computation of dispersion curves and mode shapes of elastic guided waves in axisymmetric waveguides. The approach is based on a Scaled Boundary Finite Element formulation, that has previously been presented for plate structures and general three-dimensional waveguides with complex cross-section. The formulation leads to a Hamiltonian eigenvalue problem for the computation of wavenumbers and displacement amplitudes, that can be solved very efficiently. In the axisymmetric representation, only the radial direction in a cylindrical coordinate system has to be discretized, while the circumferential direction as well as the direction of propagation are described analytically. It is demonstrated, how the computational costs can drastically be reduced by employing spectral elements of extremely high order. Additionally, an alternative formulation is presented, that leads to real coefficient matrices. It is discussed, how these two approaches affect the computational efficiency, depending on the elasticity matrix. In the case of solid cylinders, the singularity of the governing equations that occurs in the center of the cross-section is avoided by changing the quadrature scheme. Numerical examples show the applicability of the approach to homogeneous as well as layered structures with isotropic or anisotropic material behavior. 相似文献

We present a survey of the main results and methods of the theory of retrial queues, concentrating on Markovian single and multi-channel systems. For the single channel case we consider the main model as well as models with batch arrivals, multiclasses, customer impatience, double connection, control devices, two-way communication and buffer. The stochastic processes arising from these models are considered in the stationary as well as the nonstationary regime. For multi-channel queues we survey numerical investigations of stationary distributions, limit theorems for high and low retrial intensities and heavy and light traffic behaviour. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the solution of nonlinear algebraic systems of equations. For this problem, we suggest new methods, which are combinations of the nonlinear ABS methods and quasi-Newton methods. We present a potential reduction interior-point algorithm for monotone nonlinear complementarity problems. At each iteration, one has to compute an approximate solution of a nonlinear system such that a certain accuracy requirement is satisfied. For problems satisfying a scaled Lipschitz condition, this requirement is satisfied by the approximate solution obtained by applying one Newton step to that nonlinear system. Two existing function-space quasi-Newton algorithms, the Davidon algorithm and the projected gradient algorithm, are modified so that they may handle directly control-variable inequality constraints. A third quasi-Newton-type algorithm, developed by Broyden, is extended to optimal control problems. The Broyden algorithm is further modified so that it may handle directly control-variable inequality constraints. From a computational viewpoint, dyadic operator implementation of quasi-Newton methods is shown to be superior to the integral kernel representation. The quasi-Newton methods, along with the steepest descent method and two conjugate gradient algorithms, are simulated on three relatively simple (yet representative) bounded control problems, two of which possess singular subarcs. Overall, the Broyden algorithm was found to be superior. The most notable result of the simulations was the clear superiority of the Broyden and Davidon algorithms in producing a sharp singular control subarc.This research was supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant Nos.
