The thermodynamic, volumetric, transport, and surface properties, solubilities, densities, viscosities, electrical conductivities, and surface tensions of calcium sulfate dihydrate in aqueous sodium chloride solutions have been measured at 35 C, with a view to determine the ionic interactions that occur in these solutions. The experimental density values have been used to calculate the mean apparent molar volumes of the ternary mixtures. Viscosity values have been analyzed using different empirical equations and the experimental values of the viscosity were combined with conductivity to yield the Walden product. Molar surface energies have been computed using experimental surface tension data. The experimental data have been fitted to polynomial equations by a least-squares analysis to obtain the coefficients and their standard errors. Results have been examined in the light of structure making or structure breaking effects of the various ions present in the solutions.  相似文献

The freezing points, conductivities, and densities of NaI, KI, CsI, Bu4NCl, Bu4NBr, Bu4NI, Et4NBr, and Pr4NBr (where Et = ethyl, Pr = propyl, and Bu =n-butyl) in ethylene carbonate have been measured. Osmotic and activity coefficients were calculated from the results. All of the salts studied are strong electrolytes. The trends in the osmotic coefficients of the alkali metal iodides are NaI>KI>CsI, showing that Na+ is more solvated by ethylene carbonate than Cs+. For the tetraalkylammonium halides, the order of osmotic coefficients are Et4NBrPr4NBrBu4NCl>Bu4NBr>Bu4NI. This is the same order as observed in two other high-dielectric-constant solvents, water andN-methylacetamide. The results indicate that the smaller anions are more solvated than the larger anions in ethylene carbonate in contrast to the usual behavior of dipolar aprotic (basic) solvents, such as dimethyl sulfoxide.  相似文献

Experimental densities were measured for the system 1-methyl-3-octyl-imidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF4] + butan-1-ol, + pentan-1-ol at 298.15 K and ambient pressure using a vibrating tube densimeter, taking into account the influence of the viscosity correction. Excess molar volumes VE have been determined. VE is quite small and negative in the alcohol-rich range of the mixture composition and positive in the alcohol-poor range. LLE data of [OMIM][BF4] + pentan-1-ol have been measured using a laser light scattering cell for detecting cloud points at different compositions in the temperature range of 282–292 K. A miscibility gap with an upper critical solution temperature (UCST) of 292 K has been found.  相似文献

A new type of three-component interpolymer complexes (3IPCM) formed by two similarly charged polyelectrolytes and an oppositely charged low molar mass compound was studied by DSC, NMR and X-ray methods. The low molar mass monobasic compounds in these complexes act as mediators. This type of complexes differs from earlier-obtained 3IPCM, which contained a dibasic low molar mass mediator.The present 3IPCM were obtained from two polymers (polyacrylic acid and sodium polyphosphate) and bases such as 4-vinylpyridine and 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine.The authors express their acknowledgement to the Russian Science Foundation for sponsoring research projects 93-03-5650 and 93-03-18682.  相似文献

High precision densities of sodium chloride solutions at a constant pressure of 200 bar and temperatures between 175°C and 350°C have been measured by a mercury displacement technique. The densities have been converted to apparent molar volumes. The apparent molar volumes decrease with increasing temperature and decreasing concentration whereas the concentration effect increases with temperature. Standard partial molar volumes range from 8.0 cm3-mol–1 at 175°C to –600 cm3-mol–1 at 350°C. The results indicate the applicability of the unextended Debye-Hückel limiting law up to concentrations of 0.02 mol-kg–1.  相似文献

A flow microcalorimeter/densimeter system has been commissioned to measure heat capacities and densities of solutions containing radioactive species as a function of temperature. Measurements were made for NaTcO4(aq) at six temperatures (189.15 K to 373.15 K for the heat capacities, 287.43 K to 396.67 K for the densities) over the molality range 0.01 to 0.29 mol-kg–1. Measurements for NaReO4(aq) (NaReO4 is a common nonradioactive analogue for NaTcO4) were made under similar conditions, but for eight temperatures and a more extensive range of molalities, 0.05 to 0.65 mol-kg–1. Heat capacities of NaCl(aq) reference solutions were also measured from 293.15 K to 398.15 K.The heat capacity and density data are analysed using Pitzer's ioninteraction model. Equations for the apparent molar heat capacities and volumes are reported. Values of the NaReO4(aq) partial molar heat capacities are compared to literature values based on integral heats of solution. The agreement between the two sets of NaReO4 results is good below 330 K, but only fair at the higher temperatures. Values of the partial molar volumes have also been derived. Using literature values and the results of our experiments, it is calculated that the disproportionation of hydrated TcO2(s) to form TcO 4 (aq) and Tc(cr) occurs more readily at high temperatures. The uncertainties introduced by using thermodynamic values for ReO 4 (aq), in the absence of values for TcO 4 (aq), are discussed.  相似文献

Mutual diffusion coefficients and densities were measured for aqueous ZnCl2–KCl mixtures at 25° by using free-diffusion Rayleigh interferometry and pycnometry, respectively. The ZnCl2 concentrations were fixed at 1.5 mol-dm–3, whereas those of KCl were 0.5, 1.25, 2.0, or 4.0 mol-dm–3. This corresponds to a half charged zinc-chlorine storage battery at various suporting electrolyte concentrations. The main-term coefficient of ZnCl2 only varies by 10% with KCl concentration, whereas that of KCl varies by about 22%. The ZnCl2 cross-term coefficient remains small and positive; in contrast the KCl cross-term coefficient goes through a maximum and is negative at high and low KCl concentrations. At KCl concentrations of 0.5 and 4.0 mol-dm–3, solutions with the KCl c0 are statically and dynamically (diffusively) unstable at the top and bottom of the boundary. Evaluation of the parameters of the non-linear least-squares solution to the diffusion equation is difficult for the 1.25 mol-dm–3 KCl case, since this system has nearly equal eigenvalues in its diffusion coefficient matrix.  相似文献

Conductivity measurements of DL-pyroglutamic acid and sodium pyroglutamate in dilute aqueous solutions were performed in the 288.15–323.15 K temperature range. The limiting molar conductances of pyroglutamate anion, λo(pGlu, T) and the dissociation constants of pyroglutamic acid, K(T) were derived from the Onsager, and the Quint and Viallard conductivity equations. Densities of aqueous solutions with molalities lower than 0.5 mol-kg−1 were determined at 5 K intervals from T = 288.15 K to 333.15 K. Densities served to evaluate the apparent molar volumes, V2,φ(m, T), the cubic expansion coefficients, α (m,T) and the changes of the isobaric heat capacities with respect to pressure, (∂ CP/∂ P)T,m. They were correlated qualitatively with the changes in the structure of water when pyroglumatic acid is dissolved in it.  相似文献

The effect of NH4Cl on the temperature dependence of deuterium oxide splitting (water order) and proton line width (surfactant order) in decylammonium chloride (DACl), D2O systems is reported. The molar ratio of DACl to D2O was held constant at .085 and the molar ratio of NH4Cl to D2O was varied from .012 to .029. We find for the above concentration ranges that in the nematic range the relative temperature dependence of the D2O splitting is little affected by changes on salt concentration. The slopes of the proton line widths as a function of temperature decrease with increasing salt concentration. The results are compared with earlier data on salt effects on order obtained with the disodium cromoglycate system.  相似文献
