The translational diffusion coefficients of rubrene and tetracene in amorphous polyisobutylene (PIB) were measured using the holographic fluorescence recovery after photobleaching technique. Over the temperature range from 400 to 235 K (T
g
=205 K), tracer diffusion coefficients from 10–7 to 10–14 cm2/s were observed. These diffusion coefficients have essentially the same temperature dependence as the rotational correlation times for these two probes in PIB. Both of these observables have a slightly stronger temperature dependence than does the viscosity. These results contrast strongly with the results of similar experiments on polystyrene and polysulfone. These results are consistent with the hypothesis that local segmental dynamics are more spatially homogeneous in PIB than in polystyrene and polysulfone.Dedicated to Prof. John D. The equilibrium stability of a horizontal fluid layer with homogeneous internal heat release is investigated theoretically for the case in which the layer simultaneously undergoes high-frequency circular vibration in a horizontal plane and rotates about a vertical axis. The rotation frequency is assumed to be small as compared with the vibration frequency. It is found that the rotation has a stabilizing effect on the vibrational-gravitational convection. A theoretical analysis is presented of viscous incompressible laminar flow in a pipe which rotates around an axis held at small angle with respect to its symmetry-axis. Analogous to the results of Barua and Benton [1, 2], solutions in closed-form are given for circulatory flows in the cross-sectional plane of the pipe due to Coriolis forces in combination with Hagen-Poiseuille flow through the pipe. The solutions are used to derive analytical expressions for trajectories of solid or liquid particles entrained in the gas and being subject to centrifugation and the said secondary flows. It is shown that despite centrifugation, particles can be locked into circulatory trajectories thus remaining suspended in the gas flowing through the pipe. 相似文献

The stability of steady convective flows in a horizontal layer with free boundaries, heated from below and rotating about a vertical axis, is studied in the Boussinesq approximation (Rayleigh-Bénard convection). The flows considered are convective rolls or square cells that are sums of two perpendicular rolls with equal wave numbers k. It is assumed that the Rayleigh number is almost critical in order for convective flows with a wave number k: R = R c (k) + ε2 to arise, the amplitude of the supercritical states being of the order of ε. It is shown that the flows are always unstable relative to perturbations that are the sum of one long-and two short-wave modes corresponding to linear rolls turned through small angles in opposite directions. 相似文献

The stress vector-based constitutive model for cohesionless soil, proposed by SHI Hong-yan et al., was applied to analyze
the deformation behaviors of materials subjected to various stress paths. The result of analysis shows that the constitutive
model can capture well the main deformation behavior of cohesionless soil, such as stress-strain nonlinearity, hardening property,
dilatancy, stress path dependency, non-coaxiality between the principal stress and the principal strain increment directions,
and the coupling of mean effective and deviatoric stress with deformation. In addition, the model can also take into account
the rotation of principal stress axes and the influence of intermediate principal stress on deformation and strength of soil
simultaneously. The excellent agreement between the predicted and measured behavior indicates the comprehensive applicability
of the model.

The behavior of a low-viscosity fluid in a rotating horizontal circular cylinder is investigated experimentally. The stability of the centrifuged layer, the motion of the fluid with respect to the cavity, the excitation of inertial waves on the fluid surface, and the effect of the waves on the stability and flow structure are studied over a wide region of relative occupancy of the cavity. The results are analyzed from the viewpoint of vibrational mechanics in which the motion is generated by the oscillations of the fluid with respect to the cavity and the gravity force plays the role of the force oscillating in the cavity reference system. 相似文献

The gas‐phase structures and parameters describing acetyl methyl torsion of N‐ethylacetamide are determined with high accuracy, using a combination of molecular beam Fourier‐transform microwave spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations. Conformational studies at the MP2 level of theory yield four minima on the energy surface. The most energetically favorable conformer, which possesses C1 symmetry, is assigned. Due to the torsional barrier of 73.4782(1) cm?1 of the acetyl methyl group, fine splitting up to 4.9 GHz is found in the spectrum. The conformational structure is not only confirmed by the rotational constants, but also by the orientation of the internal rotor. The 14N quadrupole hyperfine splittings are analyzed and the deduced coupling constants are compared with the calculated values. 相似文献
