In vivo incorporation of multiple noncanonical amino acids into proteins

Expansion of the standard genetic code enables the design of recombinant proteins with novel and unusual properties. Traditionally, such proteins have contained only a single type of noncanonical amino acid (NCAA) in their amino acid sequence. However, recently reported initial efforts demonstrate that it is possible with suppression-based methods to translate two chemically distinct NCAAs into a single recombinant protein by combining the suppression of different termination codons and nontriplet coding units (such as quadruplets). The possibility of expanding the code with various NCAAs simultaneously further increases the toolkit for the generation of multifunctionalized proteins.

Singular Integral Equations of Convolution Type with Reflection and Translation Shifts

This article deals with some kinds of singular integral equations of convolution type with reflection in class {0}. Such equations are transformed into the Riemann boundary value problems with both discontinuous coefficients and reflection by Fourier transform. For such problems, we propose one method different from classical one, by which the explicit solutions and the conditions of solvability are obtained. Finally, we propose and discuss singular integral equations with reflection and translation shifts.

证明了紧承下方图度量不是平移不变的.对紧承下方图度量的代数运算的连续性进行了讨论.证明了关于紧承下方图度量,模糊数空间只能是嵌入到拓扑向量空间当中,但不嵌入赋范线性空间当中.并与关于上确界度量的结果进行了比较.最后,给出了一个紧承下方图度量的下界.     

Translation planes admitting a pair of index three homology groups

It is shown that a translation plane of order which admits two homology groups of order must in fact admit symmetric homology groups of this order. It is further shown that a plane admitting such symmetric index 3 homology groups is, with a finite number of exceptions, a generalized André plane. A list of the possibly exceptional orders is determined. Received 20 March 2000.     

A lightning initiation mechanism: application to a thunderstorm electrification model

The use of numerical models has greatly increased our understanding of the electrical and microphysical process within electrified clouds. We use the University of Washington, 1.5-dimensional thunderstorm model to examine the effects of including a runaway electron based lightning initiation mechanism. We find that this mechanism can significantly alter the electrification history of modeled storms and produce vertical electric field profiles that are very similar to those of observed storms. Chapter 3 Translation invariance in data envelopment analysis: A generalization

In this paper, we undertake a revision and a generalization of the results contained in the only paper so far published on the matter of translation invariance by allowing inputs and outputs to take not only zero but negative values. This broadens the field of application of the DEA methodology.
