Micchelli and Rivlin (1972) obtained a quadrature formula of highest algebraic degree of precision for the Fourier-Chebyshev coefficients An(f), which is based on the divided differences of f′ at the zeros of the Chebyshev polynomial Tn(x). We give here a simple approach to questions of this type, which applies to the coefficients in arbitrary orthogonal expansion of f. The Balancing Domain Decomposition algorithm uses in each iteration solution of local problems on the subdomains coupled with a coarse problem that is used to propagate the error globally and to guarantee that the possibly singular local problems are consistent. The abstract theory introduced recently by the first-named author is used to develop condition number bounds for conforming linear elements in two and three dimensions. The bounds are independent of arbitrary coefficient jumps between subdomains and of the number of subdomains, and grow only as the squared logarithm of the mesh size . Computational experiments for two- and three-dimensional problems confirm the theory.

In achieving significant speed-up on parallel machines, a major obstacle is the overhead associated with synchronizing the concurrent processes. This paper presents high-orderparallel asynchronous schemes, which are schemes that are specifically designed to minimize the associated synchronization overhead of a parallel machine in solving parabolic PDEs. They are asynchronous in the sense that each processor is allowed to advance at its own speed. Thus, these schemes are suitable for single (or multi) user shared memory or (message passing) MIMD multiprocessors. Our approach is demonstrated for the solution of the multidimensional heat equation, of which we present a spatial second-order Parametric Asynchronous Finite-Difference (PAFD) scheme. The well-known synchronous schemes are obtained as its special cases. This is a generalization and expansion of the results in [5] and [7]. The consistency, stability and convergence of this scheme are investigated in detail. Numerical tests show that although PAFD provides the desired order of accuracy, its efficiency is inadequate when performed on each grid point.In an alternative approach that uses domain decomposition, the problem domain is divided among the processors. Each processor computes its subdomain mostly independently, while the PAFD scheme provides the solutions at the subdomains' boundaries. We use high-order finite-difference implicit scheme within each subdomain and determine the values at subdomains' boundaries by the PAFD scheme. Moreover, in order to allow larger time-step, we use remote neighbors' values rather than those of the immediate neighbors. Numerical tests show that this approach provides high efficiency and in the case which uses remote neighbors' values an almost linear speedup is achieved. 调制激光作用牙齿组织发生散射形成光子密度波, 而由于光热效应产生热波, 基于一维介质辐射传输漫射近似方程与一维热传导方程建立了调制激光作用牙齿组织半透明混合介质的一维热波数学模型. 利用该模型仿真分析了牙齿龋损特性参数(牙釉质龋损层光吸收系数、散射系数、热扩散系数及龋损深度)对光热辐射动态响应特性的影响与规律. 利用红外探测器(HgCdTe, 2–12 μm)记录808 nm半导体激光激发牙齿组织产生的热波信号, 由锁相放大器计算热波信号的幅值与相位. 通过频率扫描试验获得了牙齿组织的光热动态响应, 利用多参数最佳统计拟合方法得到了牙齿组织特性参数. 结果表明光热辐射测量对牙齿组织不均匀性和龋损特性均具有较高敏感性与特异性. 相似文献
