The mixtures of two polymers, poly (N,N-dimethylacrylamide) (PDMA) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) were synthesized and used as the separation medium for double-stranded and single-stranded DNA fragments by capillary electrophoresis with UV detector. Living cationic polymerization of alkoxyethyl vinyl ether [CH2?CHOCH2CH2OR; R: CH3 (MOVE), C2H5 (EOVE)] and related vinyl ethers with oxyethylene units in the pendant was achieved by 1-(isobutoxy)ethyl acetate ( 1 )/Et1.5AlCl1.5 initiating system in the presence of an added base (ethyl acetate or THF) in toluene at 0°C. The polymers had a very narrow molecular weight distribution (M?w/M?n = 1.1–1.2) and the M?n proportionally increased with the progress of the polymerization reaction. On the other hand, the polymerization by 1 /EtAlCl2 initiating system in the presence of ethyl acetate, which produces living polymer of isobutyl vinyl ether, yielded the nonliving polymer. When an aqueous solution of the polymers thus obtained was heated, the phase separation phenomenon was clearly observed in each polymer at a definite critical temperature (Tps). For example, Tps was 70°C for poly(MOVE), and 20°C for poly(EOVE) (1 wt % aqueous solution, M?n ~ 2 × 104). The phase separation for each case was quite sensitive (ΔTps = 0.3–0.5°C) and reversible on heating and cooling. The Tps or ΔTps was clearly dependent not only on the structure of polymer side chains (oxyethylene chain length and ω-alkyl group), but also on the molecular weight (M?n = 5 × 103-7 × 104) and its distribution. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) signal and the residual number (αt) of volatile molecules per phenyl group of poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) in samples that had been swelled to saturation in a dilute solution of a nitroxide spin-probe (TEMPO or 4-oxo-TEMPO), dissolved in a volatile liquid, were monitored simultaneously as the system containing excess liquid was allowed to evaporate to dryness. The results showed that the characteristic motionally narrowed three-line EPR spectrum began to change when αt became equal to αg (the number of sorbed molecules per phenyl group of polymer at liquid-saturation). The ratio of the intensity of the low-field and high-field hyperfine peaks relative to the middle peak decreased monotonically to an asymptotic limit that was attained when αt became equal to αg (the number of residual adsorbed molecules per phenyl group of polymer at completion of the transition from the rubbery state to the glassy state). The EPR hyperfine pattern, from which the rotational correlation times were estimated, changed most significantly as αt decreased from αG to αg while exhibiting inflections at about α′s and α′g the compositions that mark, respectively, incipient desorption of adsorbed molecules and incipient transition from the rubbery state to the glassy state. The pattern between these inflections points, however, varied with the affinity of the solvent for the polymer. 相似文献

Simultaneous IPNs of poly(dimethyl siloxane-urethane) (PDMSU)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and related isomers have been prepared by using new oligomers of bis(β-hydroxyethoxymethyl)poly(dimethyl siloxane)s (PDMS diols) and new crosslinkers biuret triisocyanate (BTI) and tris(β-hydroxylethoxymethyl dimethylsiloxy) phenylsilane (Si-triol). Their phase morphology have been characterized by DSC and SEM. The SEM phase domain size is decreased by increasing crosslink density of the PDMSU network. A single phase IPN of PDMSU/PMMA can be made at an Mc = 1000 and 80 wt % of PDMSU. All of the pseudo- or semi-IPNs and blends of PDMSU and PMMA were phase separated with phase domain sizes ranging from 0.2 to several micrometers. Poly[o-(tetramethyldisilanylene)phenylene] ( 2a ), poly[o-(1,2-dimethyldiphenyldisilanylene)-phenylene] ( 2b ), poly[m-(tetramethyldisilanylene)phenylene] ( 2c ), and poly[m-(1,2-dimethyldiphenyldisilanylene)phenylene] ( 2d ) were prepared by the sodium condensation reaction of the corresponding 1,2-and 1,3-bis (chlorosilyl)benzenes in toluene. Irradiation of thin films of 2a-2d in air resulted in a rapid decrease of absorption maxima in the ultraviolet region. The photolysis of 2b and 2d in benzene afforded photodegradation products with low molecular weights. With the aid of a model for the kinetics of polymer crystallization, as put forward in previous publications, the shape of DSC-curves and their position on the temperature scale were simulated for various conditions of heat transfer in the apparatus. It turns out that the outcome is very dependent on the assumptions made with respect to these heat transfer conditions. For the ideal condition — no temperature differences between sample, pan and furnace — an invariable shape is predicted for the DSC-curves. They only shift to lower temperatures with increasing cooling rates. For more realistic conditions, the curves not only shift but become broader and their maxima decrease. They show a more familiar appearance. These calculations are very involved, however, A simple balance equation is shown to yield equivalent results, if a dimensionless characteristic number like the Nusselt number remains considerably smaller than one. This number contains an effective heat transfer coefficient between sample and furnace which, surprisingly, should not be too high. Apparently, the heat capacity of the pan does not play an important role under these conditions. This is investigated in Appendix II.
