The viscous fingering instability of miscible reactive–dispersive flows in a homogeneous porous media is investigated through nonlinear numerical simulations. In particular, the role of velocity-dependent transverse and longitudinal dispersions as well as the type and rate of auto-catalytic chemical reactions is analyzed. It is found that for a third-order auto-catalytic reaction, the higher the reaction rate, the more complex the finger structures. Furthermore, major differences between the flow development of third-order and second-order autocatalytic reactions are reported. In addition, the anisotropy and velocity dependence of the dispersion tensor are found to have a more profound effect on the fingering instability in the case of reactive flows than in the non-reactive ones. The qualitative characterization of the finger structures is explained by examining the flow velocity field and further quantified through an analysis of the average concentration and relative contact area.  相似文献

A method for the explicit determination of the polar decomposition (and the related problem of finding tensor square roots) when the underlying vector space dimension n is arbitrary (but finite), is proposed. The method uses the spectral resolution, and avoids the determination of eigenvectors when the tensor is invertible. For any given dimension n, an appropriately constructed van der Monde matrix is shown to play a key role in the construction of each of the component matrices (and their inverses) in the polar decomposition.  相似文献

Considering of a tensor interaction in Dirac equation removes the degeneracy in spin and pseudospin doublets and consequently leads to results consistent with the experimental data. Here, instead of the commonly used Coulomb or linear terms, we investigate a tensor interaction of Yukawa form. We obtain arbitrary state solutions of Dirac equation under vector, scalar and tensor Yukawa potentials via a physical approximation and the Nikiforov-Uvarov methodology. An efficient direct spectral domain decomposition method is developed coupled with Chebyshev spectral approximation for the solution of 2D, unsteady and incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in complex geometries. In this numerical approach, the spatial domains of interest are decomposed into several non-overlapping rectangular sub-domains. In each sub-domain, an improved projection scheme with second-order accuracy is used to deal with the coupling of velocity and pressure, and the Chebyshev collocation spectral method (CSM) is adopted to execute the spatial discretization. The influence matrix technique is employed to enforce the continuities of both variables and their normal derivatives between the adjacent sub-domains. The imposing of the Neumann boundary conditions to the Poisson equations of pressure and intermediate variable will result in the indeterminate solution. A new strategy of assuming the Dirichlet boundary conditions on interface and using the first-order normal derivatives as transmission conditions to keep the continuities of variables is proposed to overcome this trouble. Three test cases are used to verify the accuracy and efficiency, and the detailed comparison between the numerical results and the available solutions is done. The results indicate that the present method is efficiency, stability, and accuracy.  相似文献

The kinetics of catalytic decomposition of NO over Cu/ZSM-5 catalyst has been studied in an integral flow reactor at atmospheric pressure. Kinetic analysis is based on the assumption that the surface reaction represents the rate-determining step. On the basis of theoretical considerations of different interactions between reactants and catalyst, and experimental evidences, three different mechanistic kinetic models were chosen.
