Exceptionally Plastic/Elastic Organic Crystals of a Naphthalidenimine-Boron Complex Show Flexible Optical Waveguide Properties

The design of molecular compounds that exhibit flexibility is an emerging area of research. Although a fair amount of success has been achieved in the design of plastic or elastic crystals, realizing multidimensional plastic and elastic bending remains challenging. We report herein a naphthalidenimine–boron complex that showed size-dependent dual mechanical bending behavior whereas its parent Schiff base was brittle. Detailed crystallographic and spectroscopic analysis revealed the importance of boron in imparting the interesting mechanical properties. Furthermore, the luminescence of the molecule was turned-on subsequent to boron complexation, thereby allowing it to be explored for multimode optical waveguide applications. Our in-depth study of the size-dependent plastic and elastic bending of the crystals thus provides important insights in molecular engineering and could act as a platform for the development of future smart flexible materials for optoelectronic applications.     

Interaction of modulated pulses in nonlinear oscillator chains

We formally derive and rigorously justify the modulation equations of lowest order for the interaction of two modulated pulses on a one-dimensional nonlinear oscillator chain. We show that solutions with the initial form of the assumed ansatz preserve this form over time intervals with positive macroscopic length, and we show a bound on the possible shift of the envelope caused by the interaction. Thus, we rigorously justify and quantify the statement that under the given conditions there is almost no interaction of the modulated pulses.     

Direct Proof of Determinant Representation for Scalar Products of the XXZ Gaudin Model with Generic Non-Diagonal Boundary Terms

After constructing the Bethe state of the XXZ Gaudin model with generic non-diagonal boundary terms,we analyze the properties of this state and obtain the determinant representations of the scalar products for this XXZ Gaudin model.     

新型4,6-脱水-α-D-吡喃型半乳糖衍生物的合成

以甲基-2,3,4,6-四-O-苄基-α-D-吡喃型半乳糖为起始原料,通过对1-位和2-位进行结构修饰,6-位选择性脱除苄基后,再引入保护基Ms(或Ts)制得3,4-二-O-苄基-6-磺酰基(或对甲苯基磺酰基)-α-D-吡喃型半乳糖衍生物(2a~2f);在AcOK/DMSO体系中于80℃反应24 h,2发生分子内亲核取代反应合成了一系列新型的4,6-脱水-α-D-吡喃型半乳糖衍生物,产率78%~88%,其结构经1H NMR,13C NMR和ESI-HR-MS表征。     

原子荧光光谱法测定白砂糖和红糖中硒含量

目的：测定白砂糖和红糖中硒含量为研制富硒糖提供科学依据。方法采用微波消解-原子荧光光谱法测定白砂糖和红糖中硒含量。结果在确定的最佳仪器条件下,原子荧光光谱法测定白砂糖和红糖中硒的检出限为0.063μg · L-1;白砂糖硒的RSD为2.28％,红糖的RSD为2.13％;白砂糖回收率为103.4％,红糖回收率为99.7％。结论该法具有方法简便、快捷、准确等优点,适用于白砂糖和红糖中硒含量测定。     

Influence of branched chains on the mesomorphic properties of symmetrical and unsymmetrical triphenylene discotic liquid crystals

A series of novel symmetrical and unsymmetrical triphenylene‐based discotic liquid crystalline materials with one or six branched peripheral alkoxy chains have been prepared. These materials have been compared with analogous known symmetrical and unsymmetrical compounds to reveal a balance between steric and space‐filling effects of the peripheral branched chains, which significantly affects intermolecular forces of attraction and packing, and hence affects melting and isotropisation temperatures of the liquid crystalline materials. The desired result of reduction of melting points and enhancement of isotropisation temperatures has been accomplished by use of branched alkoxy chains in both symmetrical and unsymmetrical materials.     

Studies on the Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activities of 13‐cis‐Retinoyl Sugar Derivatives

New retinoyl sugar derivatives of 13‐cis‐retinoic acid were synthesized in three ways in this paper in order to enhance pharmacal effects, especially antiproliferative activities of 13‐cis‐retinoic acid. Their structures were confirmed by IR, ¹H‐NMR, ¹³C‐NMR, and MS spectra and their antiproliferative activities were determined in vitro using human cancer lines. Results showed that some compounds possessed potential antitumor activities.     

支化侧链偶氮无规共聚物中空和类囊泡聚集体研究

研究了支化侧链型偶氮无规共聚物(PMAPB6P-AA)在THF/H2O混合溶液中的自组装行为.研究发现,通过缓慢增加体系的水含量,可以制备出具有中空结构的非球形聚集体.调节聚合物的初始浓度,可以得到不同粒径的聚集体.聚集体中偶氮生色团的光致异构化速率与异构化程度随聚合物初始浓度的增大而减小.在此基础上,采用更加缓慢的增加水含量的方法,使聚合物分子进行充分的疏水聚集与H-聚集,制备出类囊泡状聚集体.在紫外光照射条件下,观察到类囊泡聚集体发生了光致解聚集.
