Derivation of the Hydrodynamic Equations in the Framework of the Bogoliubov Functional Hypothesis

We generalize the Bogoliubov functional hypothesis to the case of multiparticle interaction depending on both the coordinates and momenta of particles. We illustrate this with the examples of two weakly relativistic models: the Darwin model in the theory of charged particles and the Fock model in the general theory of relativity. For these models, based on the chain of the BBGKY equations, we calculate weakly relativistic corrections to the classical transport coefficients and find the conditions under which there is no bijective relation between the parameters of the local equilibrium distribution and the hydrodynamic variables.     

On the Approximation of Irrationals by Rationals

Let ξ be a real irrational number, and a ≧ 0, b ≧ 0, s > 1 be integers. A theorem of S. UCHIYAMA states that there are infinitely many pairs of integers u and v ≠ 0 such that OVBARξ?u/vOVBAR ≤ s²/4v² and u ? a, v ? b mod s, provided that it is not a ? 6 ? 0 mod s. It is shown that this result is best-possible for all integers s > 1.     

On certain positive linear operators in polynomial weight spaces

THE INVERSE PROBLEM FOR PART SYMMETRIC MATRICES ON A SUBSPACE

In this paper, the following two problems are considered:Problem Ⅰ. Given S∈E Rn×p,X,B 6 Rn×m, find A ∈ SRs,n such that AX = B, where SR8,n = {A∈ Rn×n|xT(A - AT) = 0, for all x ∈ R(S)}.Problem Ⅱ. Given A* ∈ Rn×n, find A ∈ SE such that ||A-A*|| = minA∈sE||A-A*||, where SE is the solution set of Problem Ⅰ.The necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of and the general form of the solutions of problem Ⅰ are given. For problem Ⅱ, the expression for the solution, a numerical algorithm and a numerical example are provided.

A short-range correlation energy density functional with multi-determinantal reference

We introduce a short-range correlation density functional defined with respect to a multi-determinantal reference which is meant to be used in a multi-determinantal extension of the Kohn–Sham scheme of density functional theory based on a long-range/short-range decomposition of the Coulomb electron–electron interaction. We construct the local density approximation for this functional and discuss its performance on the He atom.
