A titanium dioxide sol with narrow particle size distribution was synthesized using TiCl4 as the starting material. The sol was prepared by a process where HCl was added to a gel of hydrated titanium oxide to dissolve it. The resulting aqueous titanic acid solution was heated to form titanium dioxide sol. The effects of preparation parameters were investigated. TiCl4 was slowly added to distilled water at 5°C. Aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide was added to adjust the pH of the system to 8–12. After aging for a period of time, the peptized sol was filtered and sufficiently washed. The filtered cake was repulped in water. Hydrochloric acid was slowly added to the solution with stirring. After condensation reaction and crystallization, a transparent sol with suspended TiO2 was formed. XRD results show that the crystalline phase was anatase. The suspended TiO2 particles were rhombus primary particles with the major axis ca. 20 nm and the minor axis ca. 5 nm. The TiO2 particles prepared at pH 8 had the largest surface area of 141 cm3/g and it was microporous. The compositions of the solution which yielded the smallest suspended TiO2 particles were TiO2:HCl (35% HCl) = 1:1 (molar ratio), concentration of TiO2 = 10%. Hydroxypropyl cellulose with viscosity of 150–400 cps was added as a dispersant. The sol was excellent in dispersibility and long-term stability. Transparent thin films could be obtained through dip-coating glass substrate in the sol. The dip-coating on glass can be less than three times to have one monolayer TiO2. The transparent TiO2 thin film had strong hydrophilicity after being illuminated by UV light. 相似文献

The immobilization of tris(2,2′‐bipyridyl)ruthenium(II), Ru(bpy)32+, at a glassy carbon electrode was achieved by entrapping the Ru(bpy)32+ in a vapor deposited titania sol‐gel membrane. The electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) of the immobilized Ru(bpy)32+ was studied. The Ru(bpy)32+ modified electrode showed a fast ECL response to both oxalate and proline. The ECL intensity was linearly related to concentrations of oxalate and proline over the ranges from 20 to 700 μmol L?1 and 20 to 600 μmol L?1, respectively. The detection limits for oxalate and proline at 3σ were 5.0 μmol L?1 and 4.0 μmol L?1, respectively. This electrode possessed good precision and stability for oxalate and proline determinations. The electrogenerated chemiluminescence mechanism of proline system was discussed. This work provided a new way for the immobilization of Ru(bpy)32+ and the application of titania sol‐gel membrane in electrogenerated chemiluminescence. 相似文献

FTIR measurements of sol fractions were carried out in order to assess side reactions during dicumyl peroxide (DCP) crosslinking of linear low density polyethylenes (LLDPEs) with homogeneous distribution of short chain branching. The changes of methyl and olefinic unsaturation concentration were measured as a function of degree of branching and DCP content. The changes of methyl and vinylidene concentration indicate that the scission probability has greater significance for the samples with initial branch content above 31 CH3/1000 C and increases with increasing DCP concentration. The analysis of trans-vinylene concentration indicates that the probability of disproportionation also increases with increasing DCP content. The changes of methyl concentration in the sol fraction of the sample containing initially ca. 23 CH3/1000 C with increasing DCP content could be interpreted using the dependence of crosslinking efficiency on branch content found previously for some range of branch concentration. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

ABSTRACT In this article, we present a method to pattern glass substrates with sol-gel derived thin films. This method is based on the aerosol deposition of sol-gel precursor solutions using an inexpensive, commercially available airbrush. The technique was demonstrated using Cy5-doped sol-gel thin films for the creation of wavelength conversion devices. The films deposited were mechanically and chemically rigid, and patterns could be achieved with a resolution limit of approximately 250 μm. Constructing channel waveguides was also attempted using both zirconium- and titanium-based sol-gel thin films. Deposited thin films of these materials showed graininess that limited the ability to couple light into the films and increased the observed scatter. However, light was successfully coupled into the titanium-based sol-gel film using small lens-like structures created on the glass surface. 相似文献

The technique for ITO (Tin‐doped indium oxide) thin films by sol‐gel process is presented in this paper. After annealing at 500° for 15 min, ITO gel films get transformed into nanocrystallined indium tin oxide films. We studied the microstructure of ITO thin film which is closely related to optical and electrical properties. The microstructure of ITO thin film can be observed through high‐resolution transmission electronic spectroscopy (HRTEM) and the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) technique. The film is nanocrystallite with grain sizes about 20 nm. Also, the surface chemical components were studied by XPS spectra. The transmission and the resistivity of ITO films is 97.0% and 3.5 × 10?3 Ω?cm, respectively. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
