Macrocycle opening in formyl derivatives of benzocrown ethers under the action of methylamine

A new method for synthesizing nitrogen-containing podands by nucleophilic regioselective cleavage of the macrocycle in formyl derivatives of benzocrown ethers by heating with methylamine and methylammonium chloride has been developed. Synthesis of natural pulvinic acids based on a ‘[3+2] cyclization-Suzuki cross-coupling’ strategy

A number of pulvinic acid natural products were prepared based on Suzuki cross coupling reactions of α-hydroxy-γ-alkylidenebutenolides which are readily available by cyclization of 1,3-bis-silyl enol ethers with oxalyl chloride. The formal total synthesis of pulvinic acid, atromentic acid, gomphidic acid and of 4-hydroxypulvinic acid, 4′-hydroxypulvinic acid and iso-gomphidic acid are reported. In addition, total syntheses of pinastric acid, xerocomic acid and variegatic acid were accomplished.

报道了在缓冲液中添加 1 8-冠 - 6 -四甲酸 (1 8C6 H4 )的高效毛细管电泳法(HPCE)对 8个含氨基的药物进行拆分 ,低 p H值 (2 .0 6 )和较高浓度的 Tris缓冲液(2 0 mmol· L- 1)可加快手性分离。用手性柱 Crownpak CR(+)的高效液相色谱(HPLC)法对与前相同的 8个含氨基药物进行拆分 ,甲醇浓度增大 ,分离度 RS值有所减小。实验结果还表明 ,使用 HPCE法拆分的各物质 RS值大于使用 HPLC法拆分相应物质的 RS值。     

Enantiopure Chiral Macrocyclic Lanthanide Complexes Derived from (R)-2,2′-Diamino-1,1′-binaphthyl and 2,6-Diformylpyridine

The template condensation of (R)-2,2′-diamino-1,1′-binaphthyl and 2,6-diformylpyridine leads to lanthanide(III) complexes of the new chiral hexaaza macrocycle L that adopts highly twisted conformation in [LnL](NO₃)₃ complexes. The complexes have been characterised by ESI MS spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy. The analogous N₂O₄ chiral crown ether L2 that has the same carbon skeleton as L does not exhibit tendency to bind lanthanide(III) ions. The X-ray crystal structure of L2 exhibit squeezed conformation of the macrocycle and spatial disposition of donor atoms that does not predispose it for coordination of lanthanide(III) ions.     

Dilithiated synthons: synthesis of cyclic ethers

Recent advances in the generation of dilithiated synthons by arene-catalyzed lithiation of the corresponding dichloro compounds in the presence of carbonyl compounds (Barbier-type reaction conditions) as the key step are described. Further cyclization of the generated diols under different reaction conditions affords a variety of mono-, bi-, and spirocyclic ethers.     

CuSO<Subscript>4</Subscript> as a Mild,Green, and Efficient Catalyst for the One-pot Conversion of <Emphasis Type="Italic">THP</Emphasis> Ethers to Acetates

Summary. An efficient direct conversion of THP ethers into the corresponding acetates was achieved with acetic anhydride in the presence of CuSO₄ · 5H₂O as an available and green catalyst in high yields.     

An unusual twist conformation of 2-O-methyl-1,3,4,5-tetrakis-O-tert-butyldiphenylsilyl-myo-inositol

The ring conformation of 2-O-methyl-1,3,4,5-tetrakis-O-tert-butyldiphenylsilyl-myo-inositol was in a twist form both in solid state and in solution. This is the first observation of a stable twist conformer induced by the introduction of bulky silyl protecting groups.     

Prediction of Complexation Properties of Crown Ethers Using Computational Neural Networks

A computational neural network method was used for the prediction of stability constants of simple crown ether complexes. The essence of the method lies in the ability of a computer neural network to recognize the structure-property relationships in these host-guest systems. Testing of the computational method has demonstrated that stability constants of alkali metal cation (Na+, K+, Cs+)-crown ether complexes in methanol at 25 °C can be predicted with an average error of ±0.3 log K units based on the chemical structure of the crown ethers alone. The computer model was then used for the preliminary analysis of trends in the stabilities of the above complexes.     

Multifunctional coupling agents for living cationic polymerization. IV. Synthesis of end-functionalized multiarmed poly(vinyl ethers) with multifunctional silyl enol ethers

Telechelic ( 8 ) and end-functionalized four-arm star polymers ( 9 ) were synthesized through the coupling reactions of end-functionalized living poly(isobutyl vinyl ether) ( 5; DP _n ～ 10) with the bi-and tetrafunctional silyl enol ethers, H_4-nC? [CH₂OC₆H₄C(OSiMe₃) = CH₂]_n ( 3: n = 2; 4: n = 4). The precursor polymers 5 were prepared by living cationic polymerization with functionalized initiators, CH₃CH(Cl)OCH₂CH₂X(6), in conjunction with zinc chloride in methylene chloride at ?15°C. The initiators 6 were obtained by the addition of hydrogen chloride gas to vinyl ethers bearing pendant functional groups X , including acetoxy [? OC(O)CH₃], styryl (? OCH₂C₆H₄-p-CH = CH₂), and methacryloyl [? OC(O)C(CH₃) = CH₂]. The coupling reactions with 3 and 4 in methylene chloride at ?15°C for 24 h afforded the end-functionalized multiarmed polymers ( 8 and 9 ) in high yield (>91%), where those with styryl or methacryloyl groups are new multifunctional macromonomers. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

α-Halogeno ethers, sulfides, and amines are reactive compounds which can be used for the formation of new C? C bonds, either as nucleophilic or as electrophilic reagents, or by α-elimination. The use of these compounds in the synthesis of many classes of organic compounds is reviewed.
