Qualitative Theory and Identification of Dynamic System with One Degree of Freedom

Dynamic systems described by nonlinear differential equations of the second order are studied. It is assumed that certain preliminary information on the dissipative or elastic characteristics of systems is known. Computation of the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems with parameter dependent boundary conditions using the regularized sampling method

The purpose in this paper is to compute the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems with quite general separated boundary conditions nonlinear in the eigenvalue parameter using the regularized sampling method, an improvement on the method based on Shannon sampling theory, which does not involve any multiple integration and provides higher order estimates of the eigenvalues at a very low cost. A few examples shall be presented to illustrate the power of the method and a comparison made with the the exact eigenvalues obtained as squares of the zeros of the exact characteristic functions.

     

Existence results for second order boundary value problem of impulsive dynamic equations on time scales

In this paper, Schaefer's fixed point theorem and nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type are used to investigate the existence of solutions for second order boundary value problem for impulsive dynamic equations on time scales.

Theoretical Description of the Third Order Parametric Wave Mixing in a Gas-Filled Capillary of Femto-Second Laser Pulse

The theoretical signal-pressure curves are calculated from approximate analytical solutions of the coupledequations describing the third order parametric wave mixing in a gas-filled capillary of femto-second laser pulses. Thecomparison with the corresponding experimental curves suggests that the following three factors exert important influ-ences on the degree of fitting between the theoretical and experimental results: the walk-off, the phase modulation, andthe third order harmonic of idler pulse.

Maximal σ‐polynomials of connected 3‐chromatic graphs

In the set of graphs of order n and chromatic number k the following partial order relation is defined. One says that a graph G is less than a graph H if c_i(G) ≤ c_i(H) holds for every i, k ≤ i ≤ n and at least one inequality is strict, where c_i(G) denotes the number of i‐color partitions of G. In this paper the first ? n/2 ? levels of the diagram of the partially ordered set of connected 3‐chromatic graphs of order n are described. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 用所谓的Hankel向量方法求解N[a,b]函数类中带边界插值数据的Nevanlina-Pick插值(BNP(N[a,b]))问题,并建立BNP(N[a,b])问题与[a,b]上的某种带约束条件的Hausdorff矩量问题之间等价的可解条件以及解之间明确的一一对应关系.这使得当BNP(N[a,b])问题有多解时,能通过带约束条件的矩量问题的可解性准则和解获得BNP(N[a,b])问题的可解性准则和解的参数化描述,而在唯一解的情况下,通过BNP(N[a,b])问题解的存在唯一性准则和唯一解来获得带约束条件的     

On the Similarity between Volterra Operators and Transformation Operators for Integro-Differential Operators of Fractional Order

We establish the similarity between certain Volterra integral operators and the Riemann--Liouville fractional integration operator as well as the existence of a triangular transformation operator for integro-differential equations of fractional order. The results obtained are consistent with similar results for the case of integer order.
