Malyngamide X: The First (7R)‐Lyngbic Acid that Connects to a New Tripeptide Backbone from the Thai Sea Hare Bursatella leachii

Malyngamide X ( 1 ), the first (7R)‐lyngbic acid connected to a new tripeptide backbone, was isolated from the Thai sea hare Bursatella leachii. The gross structure of 1 was established on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectroscopic data. Combination of the NMR spectroscopic experiments with α‐methoxy‐α‐(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetic acid esters, 2,2,2‐trifluoro‐1‐(9‐anthryl)ethanol chiral solvating agent, and molecular mechanics of 1 and the synthetic molecular fragments allowed us to determine the absolute stereochemistry of all six stereogenic centers without hydrolytic degradation of the compound. Compound 1 displayed moderate cytotoxic, antitubercular, and antimalarial properties.     

Supercompactness and measurable limits of strong cardinals II: Applications to level by level equivalence

We construct models for the level by level equivalence between strong compactness and supercompactness in which for κ the least supercompact cardinal and δ ≤ κ any cardinal which is either a strong cardinal or a measurable limit of strong cardinals, 2^δ > δ ⁺ and δ is < 2^δ supercompact. In these models, the structure of the class of supercompact cardinals can be arbitrary, and the size of the power set of κ can essentially be made as large as desired. This extends and generalizes [5, Theorem 2] and [4, Theorem 4]. We also sketch how our techniques can be used to establish a weak indestructibility result. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Territories,corridors, and networks: A biological model for the premodern state

When depicted on maps as homogenous territorial wholes, ancient states are visually summarized as static entities in a way that conceals the highly fluid dynamics of polity formation, maintenance, and growth. Models derived from studies of animal behavior show that “territory” does not consist of an undifferentiated use of the landscape. Instead, the concept of territory can be parsed into a series of resource‐rich nodes linked by corridors of access, surrounded by unutilized regions and boundaries marked at points of competition. Ancient human groups also can be analyzed as having perceived and occupied landscapes through strategies of flexible networks in which nodes and corridors were surrounded by unutilized spaces around which boundaries were selectively identified and defended. This strategy is identifiable in human social groups at different levels of complexity ranging from hunter‐gatherers through ancient chiefdoms and states. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 复杂像散椭圆光束的轨道角动量的实验研究

提出一种直接测量光束的轨道角动量的方法，其原理是把具有轨道角动量的光束照射到一个金属靶上，使其在光束的角动量作用下发生转动. 通过测量靶转动的角度来计算光束的角动量值. 对几种不同参数的光束的轨道角动量进行了测量，获得了轨道角动量与光束参数之间的关系，实验结果与理论分析较好地符合. 关键词： 复杂像散椭圆光束 轨道角动量 测量     

(2+1)维广义Nizhnik-Novikov-Veselov系统的新严格解和复合波激发

利用拓展的Riccati方程映射法与变量分离法，得到了(2+1)维广义Nizhnik-Novikov-Veselov(GNNV)系统新的含有两个任意函数的相当广义的变量分离严格解.根据其中的周期波解，找到了该系统的复合波，即在周期波背景下的孤立波，并简要讨论了其演化行为. 关键词： GNNV系统 拓展Riccati映射 周期波解 孤立波     

High resolution electronic study of ONO, ONO and ONO: A rovibronic survey covering 11 800-14 380 cm

The 11 800-14 380 cm⁻¹ frequency range has been scanned for rotationally resolved rovibronic transitions in the A²B₂-X²A₁ electronic band system of the symmetric (C_2v) ¹⁶O¹⁴N¹⁶O and ¹⁸O¹⁴N¹⁸O isotopologues and in the corresponding electronic band system of the asymmetric (C_s) ¹⁸O¹⁴N¹⁶O isotopologue. The rotational analysis—reflecting minor differences in mass—in combination with symmetry induced spectral differences allows an identification of 68 ¹⁶O¹⁴N¹⁶O vibronic levels, 26 ¹⁸O¹⁴N¹⁸O vibronic levels and 51 ¹⁸O¹⁴N¹⁶O vibronic levels. The bands are recorded using near infrared fluorescence spectroscopy and a piezo valve based pulsed molecular beam expansion of premixed ¹⁸O₂ and ¹⁴N¹⁶O in Ar. The majority of the observed bands is rotationally assigned and can be identified as transitions starting from the vibrational ground state of one of the isotopologues. Numerous hot bands have also been identified. A comparison of the overall spectroscopic features of C_2v vs. C_s symmetric species provides qualitative information on symmetry dependence of vibronic couplings.     

非对称三态叠加多模泛函叠加态光场的高次压缩——广义电场分量的不等幂次和压缩效应研究

多模真空态|{0j}〉q与两个空间强度分布特征不同的多模复共轭泛函相干态|{f(j a)*(x,y,z)}〉q和|{f(j b)*(x,y,z)}〉q的线性叠加组成的三态叠加多模泛函叠加态光场|ψ(f3)〉q,利用多模压缩态理论,研究了态|ψ(f3)〉q中广义电场分量的不等幂次高次和(H)压缩特性.结果表明:在一定的条件下,态|ψ(f3)〉q的广义电场分量可呈现出周期性变化的任意奇数次和任意偶数次的不等幂次高次H压缩效应;光场的经典振幅和经典初始相位的任意非对称空间分布特征对其压缩程度和压缩深度等压缩特性将产生直接的影响.     

Scale invariance rule in electromagnetic scattering

The volume integral equation formalism is used to prove the scale invariance rule for an arbitrarily sized scatterer with an arbitrary shape, morphology, and orientation. The only assumptions are that the scatterer is made of optically isotropic linear materials and is embedded in a homogeneous, linear, isotropic, and nonabsorbing infinite medium.     

Electrochemical Immunoanalysis for Carcinoembryonic Antigen Based on Multilayer Architectures of Gold Nanoparticles and Polycation Biomimetic Interface on Glassy Carbon Electrode

This paper describes a layer‐by‐layer (LBL) self‐assembly process of chitosan (CTS) and gold nanoparticles (Au) on the pretreated negatively charged glassy carbon (GC) electrode to fabricate electrochemistry immunosensor with a nontoxic biomimetic interface, which provided an environment similar to a native system and allowed more freedom in orientation for immobilization of carcinoembryonic antibody (anti‐CEA) to monitor carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). UV‐vis spectroscope, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and cyclic voltammetric (CV) measurements were used to follow the multilayer film formation. The performance of the biominetic interface and factors influencing the assay system were investigated in detail. The differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) current response is used for the CEA concentration assay. The dynamic range was from 0.50 to 80.00 ng mL^?1 with a detection limit of 0.27 ng mL^?1 at 3σ. In addition, the experiment results indicate that immobilization described in this proposed method exhibits a good sensitivity, selectivity, and stability.     

One-Parameter Fixed-Point Theory and Gradient Flows of Closed 1-Forms

We use the one-parameter fixed-point theory of Geoghegan and Nicas to get information about the closed orbit structure of transverse gradient flows of closed 1-forms on a closed manifold M. We define a noncommutative zeta function in an object related to the first Hochschild homology group of the Novikov ring associated to the 1-form and relate it to the torsion of a natural chain homotopy equivalence between the Novikov complex and a completed simplicial chain complex of the universal cover of M.
