Ab initio molecular orbital and density functional theory (DFT) in conjunction with different basis sets calculations were performed to study the N? H…O and S? H…O blue‐shifted H‐bonds in the HNO…HFSO2 complex. The geometric structures, vibrational frequencies, and interaction energies were calculated by both standard and CP‐corrected methods. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis was used to investigate the origin of blue‐shifted H‐bonds, showing that the decrease in the σ*(N? H) and σ*(S? H) is due to the electron density redistribution effect. The structure reorganization effect on the blue‐shifted hydrogen bonds was discussed in detail. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Using the laser photoemission technique, a comparative study of thermodynamic and energy characteristics of electron transfer (ET) is carried out for a number of alkylaryl intermediates (IM) (benzyl, benzhydryl radicals) and alkyl halides (chloromethyl and dichloromethyl radicals). It is found that the standard free energies of activation of radicals under study are 0.34–0.38 eV and the preexpoential factors are between 109 and 1010s?1 and weakly depend on the solution nature. The reorganization energies of the medium for these IM are estimated in terms of the classical Marcus theory. The results are compared with the literature data on the dissociative ET in monohalogenomethanes CH3Hal/CH3Hal?·, polychloromethanes CHnHal4 ? n /CHnHal 4?n ?· , and some other systems. Possible reasons for the different probabilities of observing reversible ET for IM under study are discussed. 相似文献

Enthalpy‐entropy compensation remains a mystery in chemistry and biophysics. Recent study suggested that the solvent reorganization might constitute the physical origin of the compensation, which was unfortunately not widely applicable because compensation was also observed in solid phase reactions. In this study, a general theoretical model based upon strict mathematical deduction was presented, which indicated that the redistribution of the distinguishable subspecies might be the physical origin of the enthalpy‐entropy compensation in complex systems. As examples, the enthalpy‐entropy compensations in solvation and surface adsorption were discussed. 相似文献

After the separation of the donor, the aeceptor, and the σ-type bridge from the π-σ-π system, the geometries of biphenyl, biphenyl anion radical, naphthalene, and naphthalene anion radical are optimized, and then the reorganization energy for the intermolecular electron transfer (ET) at the levels of HF/4-31G and HF/DZP is calculated. The ET matrix elements of the self-exchange reactions of the π-σ-π systems have been calculated by means of both the direct calculation based on the variational principle, and the transition energy between the molecular orbitals at the linear coordinate R=0.5. For the cross reactions, the ET matrix element and the geometry of the transition state are determined by searching the minimum energy splitting △_(min) along the reaction coordinate. In the evaluation of the solvent reorganization energy of the ET in solution, the Marcus' two-sphere model has been invoked. Reductive ring opening of isoxazolidine moiety of chromano–piperidine-fused isoxazolidines (3a–c) with HCOONH4 and 10% Pd/C in a mixture of solvents (THF/MeOH) at ambient temperature, affords novel 2-(methylamino)-4-oxo-N-phenyl-N-propyl-4H-chromene-3-carboxamide (4), which is apparently derived from reductive NO bond cleavage followed by tandem intramolecular rearrangements. Plausible mechanistic rationale for the formation of compound 4 is proffered. 相似文献

Non-exponential electron transfer kinetics in complex systems are often analyzed in terms of a quenched, static disorder model.
In this work we present an alternative analysis in terms of a simple dynamic disorder model where the solvent is characterized
by highly non-exponential dynamics. We consider both low and high barrier reactions. For the former, the main result is a
simple analytical expression for the survival probability of the reactant. In this case, electron transfer, in the long time,
is controlled by the solvent polarization relaxation—in agreement with the analyses of Rips and Jortner and of Nadler and
Marcus. The short time dynamics is also non-exponential, but for different reasons. The high barrier reactions, on the other
hand, show an interesting dynamic dependence on the electronic coupling element,V

The purpose of this work is to provide an in-depth interpretation of the optical and electronic properties of a series of phosphole derivatives, including 2,5-diphenylthiooxophosphole (2a), 2-phenyl-5-biphenylthiooxophosphole (3a), 2-phenyl-5-stilbenylthiooxophosphole (4a), 2,5-dithienylthiooxophosphole (2b), 2-thienyl-5-biphenylthiooxophosphole (3b), 2-thienyl-5-stilbenylthiooxophosphole (4b), and dibenzophosphole 1. These thiooxophospholes show great potential for application in OLEDs as efficient red emitters due to the tuning of the optical and electronic properties by the use of various substituents at the 2,5-positions of the phosphole ring. The geometric and electronic structures of the oligomers in the ground state were investigated using density functional theory (DFT) and the ab initio HF, whereas the lowest singlet excited states were optimized with ab initio CIS. To assign the absorption and emission peaks observed in the experiment, we computed the energies of the lowest singlet excited states with time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT). All DFT calculations were performed using the B3LYP functional and the 6-31G (d) basis set. The results show that the HOMOs, LUMOs, energy gaps, ionization potentials, and electron affinities for the phosphole derivatives are significantly affected by varying the phosphole ring substituents at the 2,5-positions, which favor the hole and electron injection into OLEDs. The absorption and emission spectra exhibit red shifts to some extent [the absorption spectra: 339.63 (1)<358.65 (2a)<373.77 (3a)<443.89 nm (4a) and 403.03 (3b)<449.11 (2b)<460.19 nm (4b); the emission spectra: 418.42 (1)<513.62 (2a)<556.51 (3a)<642.59 nm (4a) and 568.31 (2b)<631.11 (3b)<647.35 nm (4b)] and the Stokes shifts are unexpectedly large ranging from 78 to 228 nm resulting from a more planar conformation of the excited state for the phosphole derivatives. 相似文献

We detail the melting behavior of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) and investigate its melting behavior in miscible blends with poly(ether imide) (PEI). The determination of the equilibrium melting point (Tm0) of PEEK is discussed by considering its inhomogeneous morphology. Tm0 is obtained by a long extrapolation of a Hoffman–Weeks plot to 384°C. Hindrance of PEEK crystal reorganization induced by PEI during heating is observed over the blend composition investigated (20–75 wt % PEEK). This behavior is correlated with the incorporation of PEI in the interlamellar zones of PEEK crystals. The interaction parameter χ of PEEK/PEI blends is estimated by the equilibrium melting point depression. This gives the interaction density B = ?1.2 cal/cm3, and x = ?0.40 at 400°C. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

We have explored the impact of a number of basic simulation parameters on the results of a recently developed hybrid molecular dynamics-quantum mechanics (MD-QM) method (Mercer et al., J Phys Chem B 1999, 103, 7720). The method utilizes MD simulations to explore the ground-state configuration space of the system and QM evaluation of those structures to yield the time-dependent electronic transition energy, which is transformed into the optical line-broadening function using the second-order cumulant expansion. Both linear and nonlinear optical spectra can then be generated for comparison to experiment. The dependence of the resulting spectra on the length of the MD trajectory, the QM sampling rate, and the QM model chemistry have all been examined. In particular, for the system of oxazine-4 in methanol studied here, at least 20 ps of MD trajectory are needed for qualitative convergence of linear spectral properties, and >100 ps is needed for quantitative convergence. Surprisingly, little difference is found between the 3-21G and 6-31G(d) basis sets, and the CIS and TD-B3LYP methods yield remarkably similar spectra. The semiempirical INDO/s method yields the most accurate results, reproducing the experimental Stokes shift to within 5% and the FWHM to within 20%. Nonlinear 3-pulse photon echo peak shift (3PEPS) decays have also been simulated. Decays are generally poorly reproduced, though the initial peak shift which depends on the overall coupling of motions to the solute transition energy is within 15% of experiment for all model chemistries other than those using the STO-3G basis. 相似文献

Several push-pull oligocarbazole dye-sensitizers have been studied using theoretical methods in order to better understand the relationship between structural electronic or optical properties and intramolecular path of active electrons during the ionization and injection processes. DFT/TD-DFT calculations were performed on a series of five dye sensitizers. They differ by the presence of electron donating group (EDG) by inductive effect (noted+I) or electron releasing group (ERG) by mesomeric effect (noted+M) or electron withdrawing group by inductive effect (noted-I) on the pushed part of the dyes studied. Our work focused on the internal distribution of electrons in the different parts of dye that are the push/pull moieties and the π -bridge. The study concerned the ground state, the electronic transition process and the excited state. In each situation, the fragment acting in the ionization or transition phenomena were identified. In the ground state, the electrons of the push part appear to be the least bound because they have the highest probabilities of ionization. In the excited state, the ionized atoms are essentially positioned in the pushing part and some neighboring atoms of the bridge. In the electronic transition, the active atoms are located in the π -conjugated part but only on the side adjacent to the acceptor group. To arrive to this conclusion, we optimized the structures of the five dyes in their ground and excited states. We calculated the atomic charges, the wavelengths and intensities of electronic transitions in the visible domain, the reorganization energies as well as the oxidation potential. It appears that +M donor ligands improve the performance of a dye because the great distribution of atoms to be ionized in the push parts. 相似文献
