Fourier multipliers and periodic solutions of delay equations in Banach spaces

In this paper we characterize the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions of inhomogeneous abstract delay equations and establish maximal regularity results for strong solutions. The conditions are obtained in terms of R-boundedness of linear operators determined by the equations and Lp- Fourier multipliers. Periodic mild solutions are also studied and characterized.     

Weighted norm inequalities of Bochner-Riesz means

Let w be a Muckenhoupt weight and be the weighted Hardy spaces. We use the atomic decomposition of and their molecular characters to show that the Bochner-Riesz means are bounded on for 0<p?1 and δ>max{n/p−(n+1)/2,[n/p]rw⁻¹(rw−1)−(n+1)/2}, where rw is the critical index of w for the reverse Hölder condition. We also prove the boundedness of the maximal Bochner-Riesz means for 0<p?1 and δ>n/p−(n+1)/2.     

Domains of infinitesimal generators of automorphism flows

We present a systematic characterization of the domain of a generator of a one parameter group on certain C∗-subalgebras of via finite-dimensional estimates. Our approach yields an example of a densely defined closed symmetric derivation on a C∗-subalgebras of whose domain is not closed with respect to the C¹-functional calculus. This completes and complements the earlier example of McIntosh (J. Funct. Anal. 30 (1977) 264). Our methods are partly based on the theory of adjoint C₀-semigroups.     

Dilation equations and Markov operators

Using the theory of Markov operators, we give a new proof of the known fact saying that for every positive integers N and k>1, and for every nonnegative reals c₀,…,cN satisfying the first sum rule the dilation equation

     

Lim's theorems for multivalued mappings in CAT(0) spaces

Let X be a complete CAT(0) space. We prove that, if E is a nonempty bounded closed convex subset of X and a nonexpansive mapping satisfying the weakly inward condition, i.e., there exists p∈E such that ∀x∈E, ∀α∈[0,1], then T has a fixed point. In Banach spaces, this is a result of Lim [On asymptotic centers and fixed points of nonexpansive mappings, Canad. J. Math. 32 (1980) 421-430]. The related result for unbounded R-trees is given.     

Dubins’ problem on surfaces. I. nonnegative curvature

Let M be a complete, connected, two-dimensional Riemannian manifold. Consider the following question: Given any (p₁,v₁) and (p₂, v₂) in T M, is it possible to connect p₁ to P₂ by a curve y in M with arbitrary small geodesic curvature such that, for i = 1, 2, y is equal to v_i at p_i? In this article, we bring a positive answer to the question if M verifies one of the following three conditions: (a) M is compact, (b) M is asymptotically flat, and (c) M has bounded nonnegative curvature outside a compact subset.

The modified Yamabe problem and geometry of modified scalar curvatures

Study of modified scalar curvatures and the modified Yamabe problem is given. An existence theorem of type of Trudinger and Aubin is obtained. Interpreting Isotropic curvature as a certain modified scalar curvature we can extend the four-dimensional sphere theorem of [23]. Another modified scalar curvature is used in solving open problems concerning the conjecture of self-dual Einstein 4-manifold and the Goldberg conjecture, both being under negative Ricci condition.
