The tertiary chlorine (Clt) content of vinyl chloride/2‐chloropropene copolymers [P(VC‐co‐2CP)] was determined by NMR spectroscopy. Copolymers containing 6.8–47.0 Clt's per P(VC‐co‐2CP) chain were used to initiate the cationic grafting of α‐methylstyrene, norbornadiene, indene, and norbornene with Et2AlCl under various conditions. Grafting was demonstrated by selective solvent extraction, and the effect of the experimental conditions on the grafting efficiency was examined. Select rheological and thermal characteristics of P(VC‐co‐2CP) grafts, including the glass‐transition temperature, heat deflection temperature, and discoloration upon heating, were studied. P(VC‐co‐2CP) carrying 7–11 poly(α‐methylstyrene) or polynorbornadiene branches per chain raised the glass‐transition temperature to, or above, that of a blend control. P(VC‐co‐2CP)s fitted with polyindene or polynorbornene branches were less effective in raising the mechanical properties. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The mechanism of the radiation-induced conversion of ammonia to nitrites and nitrates in aerated aqueous solutions has been studied. The formation of the pernitrite ion, O=N-O-O, was detected at pH 10.5. The kinetics of its formation and decay were studied, andk form was estimated at (2.3±0.2)·107 L mol–1 s–1. The course of decay obeys first-order kinetics; the rate constant decreases at higher pH. Radiochemical yields of pernitrite, nitrite and nitrate at various pH and initial NH3 concentrations were determined. Synchrotron radiation circular dichroism (SRCD) spectra of ribose and deoxyribose sugars, adenosine, AMP and dAMP nucleotides and cyclic derivatives were measured in the vacuum ultraviolet region (down to 168 nm for sugars and 175 nm for adenine derivatives) and at different pH values (3, 6-7, 9-10) and temperatures (between 5 and 45 degrees C). The information content in the VUV region is important since the CD bands strongly depend on the chemical structure of the sugar, the presence and orientation of a phosphate group and the protonation state of adenine. On the other hand, single or double deprotonation of the phosphoric acid group has no influence on the spectra. We assign the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) CD bands of the nucleoside and nucleotides to be due mainly to n-->pi* transitions in the adenine nucleobase based on a comparison with the absorption spectra. The CD bands of the sugars are due to n(O -->sigma*) transitions and are much smaller than the CD signal from the nucleotides in the VUV region. Bands are assigned to both pyranose and open-chain forms.  相似文献

An alternative method of synthesis of polymeric nanogels is proposed, based not on polymerization, but on intramolecular crosslinking of polymer chains, initiated by pulse irradiation in dilute aqueous solutions. Kinetic data show that for many water-soluble polymers irradiation under these conditions result in intramolecular crosslinking. Preliminary product studies on poly(vinyl alcohol) indicate that in fact internally crosslinked macromolecules can be obtained by this technique.  相似文献

The dimer, trimer, and tetramer of 1,11-dodecadiyne, HC?C? (CH2)8? C?CH, were synthesized. The solid-state polymerization of the dimer was investigated by infrared (IR) spectroscopy. IR bands due to the diacetylene moiety were identified through the comparison of the IR spectra of the dimer, trimer, and tetramer. The dimer was found to have two polymorphs, melt-crystallized and solution-crystallized. Both of the polymorphs undergo solid-state polymerization by exposure to γ-ray or UV irradiation. The former has higher polymerizability for the diacetylene moiety than the latter. The solid-state polymerization of the terminal acetylene group was not observed. It is shown that the previously reported dimer structure in which both the diacetylene and terminal acetylene groups are polymerized to form an inherently electrically conducting polymer is incorrect. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In this paper, Co-60γ ray was used to irradiate the ointment cold cream at room temperature (25°C). We also used FTIR, GC and thin film chromatogram to analyse various irradiated samples. It was found that the ointment cold cream can be irradiated at dose of 5–35 kGy and at dose rate from 0.2 to 0.6 kGy/h at room temperature (25°C) without evident decomposition. At dose of 5–15 kGy, the number of bacteria can be reduced to hygienic standard value. The radiation sterilization is a safe method for killing the bacteria in the ointment cold cream.  相似文献

Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) studies were carried out on gamma radiation synthesized polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDADMAC). The polymer was found to undergo thermal degradation in two stages. The first stage showed a weight loss of 33% and the second stage showed a weight loss of 67%. The DSC thermogram shows two endothermic peaks corresponding to the two stages in the TG thermogram and the experimental enthalpy change associated with the first and second stages were 650 J g−1 and 129.5 J g−1, respectively. The nth-order kinetic parameters (order of the reaction, activation energy and the pre-exponential factor) were determined from a single dynamic DSC or thermogravimetric (TG) thermogram by the method of least square. Theoretical TG/differential thermogravimetric (DTG) and DSC thermograms derived from the calculated kinetic parameters were in good agreement with the experimental ones at the heating rate employed. However, the kinetic parameters determined using TG and DSC were different. This leads to the conclusion that the degradation mechanism could be complicated and may consists of a number of parallel or consecutive reactions. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of the polymer was found to be around 150 °C depending on the test method employed.  相似文献

The unique properties of synchrotron radiation, such as high incident flux combined with low divergence, its linear polarization and energy tunability, make it an ideal excitation source for total reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF) spectroscopy in order to non-destructively detect trace impurities of transition metals on Si wafer surfaces. When used with a detector suitable for the determination of low energy radiation this technique can be extended to the detection of low-Z elements, such as Al, Na and Mg. Experiments have been performed at SSRL Beamline 3-3, a bending magnet beamline using monochromatic radiation from a double multilayer monochromator. The wafer was mounted vertically in front of the detector, which was aligned along the linear polarization vector of the incoming synchrotron radiation. This configuration allows the detector to accept a large solid angle as well as to take advantage of the reduced scattered X-ray intensity emitted in the direction of the linear polarization vector. A comparison between droplet samples and spin coated samples was done, in order to compare the capabilities of vapor phase decomposition (VPD-TXRF) with conventional SR-straight-TXRF. Detection limits in the range of 50 fg corresponding to 2E10 atoms/cm2 have been obtained for Na. The spin coated samples, prepared from solutions containing an equal amount of Na, Mg and Al showed an unexpected result when performing a scan of the angle of incidence of the incoming X-rays suggesting a different adsorption behavior of the elements in a multielement solution on the wafer surface. The observation of this behavior is important because the spin coating technique is the standard method for the preparation of surface standards in semiconductor quality control. This effect could be characteristic of the Na, Mg, Al solution used, but the angle dependence of the fluorescence signal of a standard should always be investigated before using the standard for calibration of the apparatus and quantification.  相似文献

The surface structure of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) upon α‐particle irradiation has been investigated at doses in the range of 1 × 107 to 1 × 1011 Rad and compared with the surface structure of the unirradiated polymer. Both neat and 25% fiberglass content PTFE were studied. The samples, maintained at nominal room temperature, were irradiated in vacuum by 5.5 MeV 4He2+ ions generated in a tandem accelerator beam line. Static time‐of‐flight SIMS (ToF‐SIMS) was employed to probe chemical changes at the surface as a function of the irradiation level. In general, the data are indicative of increased cross‐linking at α‐doses less than 1 × 109 Rad, followed by increased fragmentation and unsaturation at α‐doses greater than 1 × 109 Rad. Throughout the irradiation regime, scission is a constant factor promoting cross‐linking, branching, and unsaturation. However, at α‐doses greater than 1 × 1010 Rad, extreme structural degradation of the polymer becomes evident and is accompanied by conversion to oxygen‐functionalized and aliphatic compounds. Thus, for PTFE in an α‐particle field, an upper exposure limit of ~1010 Rad is essential for nominal retention of molecular structure. 基于Kirchhoff定律,利用一面反射镜,设计了一种可同时测量发射率及温度的单波长实时测温系统.从系统的测温灵敏度、相对测温灵敏度、探测器的温度分辨力及系统的测温标准差与波长的关系出发,并结合大气对红外辐射的透射特性,优化了系统的工作波长; 从系统的抗反射辐射能力与波长带宽的关系出发,并结合探测器的最小可探测光功率要求,优化了系统的波长带宽.实验结果表明,当λ=0.80 μm、Δλ=20 nm时,在测温范围600~2 500℃内,系统的测温不确定度优于0.3%.  相似文献
