The DNA cleavage properties of two cationic manganese porphyrins possessing different peripheral substituents were compared. The identical nature of the strand scission patterns of the porphyrins on a 139 base pair restriction fragment of pBR-322 DNA, along with other evidence, suggests that the porphyrin is end-on bound via the minor groove in a melted or partially melted region of DNA. This unusual binding mode underscores the potential of outisde binding cationic metalloporphyrins as probes for low melting regions of DNA  相似文献

Abstract

The oxidation of a β-hydroxysulfide in the pinane series by use of m-chloroperbenzoic acid resulted in the formation of the corresponding β-hydroxysulfoxide as a mixture of two diastereomers in 4:5 ratio. According to single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) results, it is established that the diastereomeric mixture of sulfoxides crystallizes in the “racemic compound-like” manner under formation of asymmetric dimers through S=O··H–O interactions. This asymmetric dimer formed from diastereomeric molecules is a structural unit in both crystal modifications, the triclinic and the monoclinic one. The behavior of the diastereomeric mixture of pinane derived sulfoxides in crystals, melts and in tetrachloromethane solutions was studied by IR spectroscopy. The density functional theory (DFT) method with 6-31G (d, p) basis set was used to calculate the optimized geometrical parameters and vibrational frequencies of different associates in solutions. The calculated vibrational frequencies are compared with experimental IR spectra.  相似文献

Highly functionalized fluorinated porphyrins were synthesized by a convergent strategy. Nucleophilic substitution using fluorinated branched unit and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin afforded highly functionalized fluorinated porphyrin 8 containing 24 fluorinated chains in the peripheral region.  相似文献

We provide a highly sensitive and selective assay to detect Hg2+ in aqueous solutions using a novel β-functionalised porphyrin-based chemosensor 5 at room temperature. The binding properties of the chemosensor 5 for cations were examined by UV–vis spectroscopy and 1H NMR. The results indicate that a 1:1 stoichiometric complex is formed between chemosensor 5 and mercury (II) ion. The recognition mechanism between chemosensor 5 and metal ion was discussed based on their absorbance changes and the chemical shift changes when they interact with each other. Control experiments revealed that chemosensor 5 has a selective response to mercury (II) ion compared with other metal ions.  相似文献

通过相界面反应制备了一维卟啉微纳米棒,并通过紫外、红外和X衍射仪等多种表征方法对其进行了表征.结果表明,在无机酸的作用下,卟啉分子通过-,氢键和静电作用等多种相互作用聚集成有序的J-聚集体.将此一维卟啉微纳米棒构筑为微纳米器件,并测试其光电性能.该纳米器件在可见光照射下的光电流很大,关闭光源,电流在40 s内降到最低,再次打开光源,电流又在120 s内升到了最大.经过多次"开"、"关"光源,电导的光响应依旧没有降低.这种具有光电响应的卟啉微纳米棒有望成为微纳电子器件的光电元件.  相似文献

We present a new software to easily perform QM:MM and QM:QM' calculations called QMX. It follows the subtraction scheme and it is implemented in the Atomic Simulation Environment (ASE). Special attention is paid to couple molecular calculations with periodic boundaries approaches. QMX inherits the flexibility and versatility of the ASE package: any combination of methods namely force field, semiempirical, first principle, and ab initio, can be used as hybrid potential energy surface (PES). Its ease of use is demonstrated by considering the adsorption of Al2Cl3Me3 on silica surface and by combining different levels of theory (from standard DFT to MP2 calculations) for the so‐called High Level cluster with standard PW91 density functional theory calculations for the Low Level environment. It is shown that the High Level cluster must contain the silanol group close to the aluminum atoms. The bridging adsorption is favored by 58 kJ mol?1 at the MP2:PW91 level with respect to the terminal position. Using large clusters at the MP2:PW91 level, it is shown that PW91 calculations are sufficient for structure optimization but that embedded methods are required for accurate energy profiles. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

New mesogens composed of achiral bent molecules with thermally stable ester linkages, and laterally substituted by a methoxy group symmetrically near the central benzene ring, were synthesized. Texture, calorimetric, electro‐optical, X‐ray and dielectric measurements were performed. In most of studied compounds the antiferroelectric B2 phase was found on cooling from the isotropic phase, followed by the B7 phase at lower temperatures. Undulation of layers in the B7 phase was confirmed by precise synchrotron studies.  相似文献

Four liquid crystalline carbonate dimers DCn containing the dimethylbenzalazine mesogen, bis(oxycarbonyloxy)alkane flexible spacers with three to six methylene units and acetate terminal groups were synthesised and their mesogenic behaviour investigated. As compared with the corresponding ester dimers a strong reduction of odd–even fluctuations of nematic–isotropic (N–I) transition entropy is observed. A theoretical analysis of the dimers within the rotational isomeric states (RIS) mean-field approach is also reported. A satisfying agreement between calculated and observed thermodynamic properties is obtained. In fact, the theoretical analysis correctly predicts a significant reduction of the odd–even fluctuations for the core order parameter S as well as for the nematic to isotropic transition entropy △SNI . The calculated distributions of conformers also show reduced differences between even and odd members. In particular, for even dimers the calculated fraction of linear extended conformers in the nematic phase at the N–I transition is around 27%, which is far below that of the corresponding ester dimers (46%).  相似文献

This review focuses on structure-property relationships in liquid crystal oligomers, which consist of molecules containing two or more mesogenic units linked via flexible spacers essentially in a linear fashion and so does not consider, for example, liquid crystal dendrimers and tetrapodes. Previous reviews have tended to focus mainly on liquid crystal dimers in which just two mesogenic units are interconnected by a single spacer. By contrast, this review is largely devoted to higher oligomers such as liquid crystal trimers and tetramers containing three or four mesogenic units connected by two or three spacers, respectively.  相似文献

New unconventional T-shaped non-symmetrical dimeric liquid crystalline compounds have been synthesised and their thermotropic properties studied on the hot-stage of a polarising microscope. These compounds consist of an azo-ester mesogenic unit with a range of terminal substituents (–CH3, –OCH3, –NO2 or –Cl) at one end, interconnected by a flexible spacer (n?=?4, 5 or 10) via ether and ester linking units to a biphenyl moiety at the lateral hydroxyl position of the azo-ester. All the compounds were characterised using a combination of elemental analysis and standard spectroscopic methods. The compounds were found to exhibit enantiotropic nematic and smectic mesophases. The effect of different terminal substituents on mesomorphism is discussed.  相似文献
