The system H2O-B2O3-Na2O has been studied experimentally at 277 and 317°C. The activities of water and boric acid have been determined at mole ratios Na/B from 0 to 1.5, and total dissolved solids 3 to 80 weight percent. The activity of boric acid has been fitted to within experimental error using a speciation model with eight complex species. This model is consistent with the model previously published by Mesmer et al. The electrolyte properties of the liquid are modeled using the Pitzer-Simonson model of very concentrated electrolyte solutions. The calculated values of water activity agree with experiment, and the activity of NaOH and pOH have also been calculated. The potassium borate system also was briefly studied at 317°C, and is adequately described by a model with five complex species. The potassium borate liquid is more alkaline at K/B= 1 than a sodium borate liquid at the same mole ratio, but pOH in the two systems is the same at lower mole ratios.  相似文献

Summary The generator contains diffusion tubes of known length and internal diameter. Once produced, the mixture of the carrier gas and acetone, the reference material, is sent through a chromatographic flame ionisation detector. Its signal reaches a constant level after a time corresponding to the stabilization time of the generator. The technique described is simple and gives repeatable results.  相似文献

The molecular improved generator coordinate Hartree–Fock (MIGCHF) method is used to generate accurate basis sets of primitive Gaussian-type functions for the H2O molecule. Sequences of increasing size atom centered basis sets are employed to explore the accuracy that can be achieved with this method. Using the O(24s14p8d5f2g1h);H(22s9p5d2f1g) basis set, the HF and second-order electron correlation energies of the H2O ground state at the experimental geometry are computed as −76.0674680 and −0.3491935 hartree, respectively. The HF energy is in error by 20 μhartree and the second-order correlation energy corresponds to 96.5% of an estimate of the limiting value. The relevance of the present calculations is to show the accuracy that can be achieved in studies of small polyatomic molecules with the MIGCHF method.  相似文献

The performance of a recently developed method to generate representative atomistic models of amorphous polymers has been investigated. This method, which is denoted SuSi, can be defined as a random generator of energy minima. The effects produced by different parameters used to define the size of the system and the characteristics of the generation algorithm have been examined. Calculations have been performed on poly(L,D-lactic) acid (rho = 1.25 g/cm3) and nylon 6 (rho = 1.084 g/cm(3)), which are important commercial polymers.  相似文献

The emeraldine base form of polyaniline (PANI) can be doped by a photo-induceddoping method. In this method a copolymer of vinylidene chloride and methyl acrylate(VCMAC) was used as photo acid generator which can release proton when it is exposedto ultraviolet light (λ= 254 nm). The structure of PANI-VCMAC system before and afterirradiation was characterized by elemental analysis, IR, XPS, and SEM images. Resultsobtained indicate that the photo-induced doping characteristics, such as doping positionand type of charge carriers, are similar to that of PANI doped with HCl. The poor room-temperature conductivity (~10~(-5)S/cm) of PANI-VCMAC system after irradiation maybe due to low doping degree (~pH= 3) and the difference in morphology as compared withPANI-HCl film.  相似文献

An overview is given on the work done at Bell Laboratories in which fluorine substitution was employed to tune the structure property relationships of chemically amplified resists. In particular, this paper will detail how structural changes in 2-nitrobenzyl photoacid generator (PAG) affect molecular properties such as quantum yield, thermal stability, and in turn also influence the lithographic characteristics of photoresist formulations such as sensitivity and post-exposure bake (PEB) and post-exposure delay (PED) latitude.  相似文献

 The preparation of polymer microcapsules of well defined size in the range of 10–50 μm with different shell thickness to core diameter ratios is described. An aerosol of monodisperse droplets of a homogeneous ternary liquid system which contained a hydrophobic component and a hydrophilic component dissolved in a high-volatile mutual solvent, was produced by dispersing with a vibrating-orifice aerosol generator. After the evaporation of the solvent in a nitrogen atmosphere the particles demix and form a two-phase droplet of core-shell type. These droplets were illuminated with UV light and polymerized to highly monodisperse microcapsules with a solid polymer shell and a liquid core. The properties of the resulting particles (size, size distribution, shell thickness, shape and surface characteristics) were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy on single optically levitated particles, and confocal Raman micro spectroscopy. This study applies the theory of stochastic processes to the equilibrium statistical physics of polymers in solution. The topics treated include random copolymers and randomly branching polymers, with self-consistent mean field effects. A new and more natural way of dealing with Boltzmann weighting is discussed, which makes it possible from the beginning of a calculation to consider only the physical polymer conformations. We also show that in general the random copolymer problem can be reduced to the ordinary polymer problem, and treat the self-consistent field problem for a general branching polymer.  相似文献
