Equations for the temperature dependence of proton and deuteron spin–lattice relaxation rates and second moments due to a complex motion consisting of classical jumps over a potential barrier and quantum mechanical tunneling through the barrier have been derived. Asymmetric double and triple potential wells are considered. These equations have been employed to analyze proton spin–lattice relaxation data for solid naphthazarin in the laboratory and rotating frames as a function of temperature. We perform an analysis of the pattern formation for a moving sheet of inviscid fluid. The sheet, which is assumed to have an infinite horizontal extent, moves at some prescribed velocity into a passive surrounding gas. The sheet’s thickness is assumed much smaller than the horizontal scale of the fluid motion. By considering a system that is symmetric with respect to the horizontal planes, long scale asymptotics are used to reduce the full governing equations in three dimensions to a set of three coupled nonlinear partial differential equations for the horizontal components of the velocity field and the height of the interface profile. The interfacial conditions consisting of the kinematic and normal stress balance are incorporated into these evolution equations. Investigations are carried out as function of the sole dimensionless parameter, namely the Weber number. A small amplitude stability analysis around the planar gas–liquid interface reveals that wave patterns in the form of traveling plane waves occur subcritically, and are therefore unstable. The reduced evolution equations are solved numerically for fixed values of the Weber number. Since the reduced system of equations is homogeneous, the wave motion is generated by initial conditions. Five initial conditions have been imposed: one-dimensional rolls, two-dimensional squares, two-dimensional hexagons, two-dimensional ridges, and smooth peaks. The ensuing evolution of the liquid sheet’s shape and corresponding flow fields are described by illustrations of the changes in the sheet’s morphology with time. 相似文献

This work reports the research carried out by studying aliquots extracted at different axial coordinates from Three Way Catalyst (TWC) monoliths aged under real traffic conditions. Our study focused on the catalytic properties and on several chemical and physical effects caused in the Front and Rear monolith washcoat surfaces by vehicle aging after 60,000 km. Regarding the catalytic properties, all the used aliquots showed poorer activity than their corresponding fresh counterparts. The strongest deactivation was detected for NO and hydrocarbon conversion. CO conversion was less affected and the Rear monolith was as deactivated as the Front one. The characterisation techniques (TXRF, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, XRD and H2-TPR) detected - (i) the deposition of P, Zn and Pb; (ii) the formation of CePO4 on account of the Ce from the washcoat; (iii) thermal sintering; (iv) inhibition of the reducibility of Ce oxides - as the main effects brought about by vehicle aging conditions. The deactivation observed at the beginning of the Front monolith was the result of a combination of the former effects. When moving downstream to higher axial coordinates, Pb accumulation and the loss of specific area appeared to be the only probable sources of deactivation. 相似文献

Summary A survey of the structures and the properties of the hydrogen bonds inortho-aminomethylphenols and -naphthols in the solid state is presented. The results are compared with molecular structure calculations. The solid state complexes can exist in the molecular or in zwitterionic form. In the last case, only intermolecular hydrogen bonds forming cyclic dimers or linear chains were detected.

The present study aims at antimicrobial polyethylene surfaces. To achieve this, LLDPE was compounded with the polymeric biocide poly(2-tert-butylaminoethyl) methacrylate TBAM (bulk modification with 1.5-5.0 wt.% of TBAM). Surfaces of these polymer compounds were then subjected to microbial assays. Using standard methods the colony forming units (CFU) for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were determined on these surfaces. In all cases, polyethylene surfaces with highly antimicrobial properties were achieved. An average reduction of 104 CFU ml−1 compared to neat LLDPE was achieved. The surfaces of these LLDPE/TBAM compounds were assessed by electrokinetic (zeta potential) measurements. The results indicate a relation between the antimicrobial activity and the zeta-potential of the polymer compounds. Moreover, the antimicrobial compounds were investigated towards biofilm formation. Compared to pristine LLDPE, the surfaces of the polymer compounds showed less adhering biofilm after a testing period of 16 weeks. 相似文献

Using the ligand pyridazine-3,6-dicarboxylate (H2pzdc), a coordination polymer [Cd2(pzdc)2(H2O)4] was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis, IR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex crystallizes in the tetragonal system with space group I41/a. The crystallographic data are: a=1.470 6(4) nm, c=1.489 8(6) nm, V=3.222 0(19) nm3, Z=16, μ=2.725 mm-1, Dc=2.594 g·cm-3, R1=0.017 8, wR2=0.044 6. In the complex, the cadmium(Ⅱ) ions with the eight-coordinated dodecahedral geometry are linked by the pzdc ligands to generate one-dimensional chains, which are associated into the three-dimensional architecture via O-H…O hydrogen bonding.
