Density and Speed of Sound for Binary Mixtures of a Cyclic Ether with a Butanol Isomer

Densities and speeds of sound of the binary mixtures 1,3-dioxolane + 1-butanol, 1,3-dioxolane + 2-butanol, 1,4-dioxane + 1-butanol, and 1,4-dioxane + 2-butanol have been measured at 25 and 40°C. The excess molar volumes and excess isentropic compressibility coefficients were calculated from experimental data and fitted to a Redlich–Kister polynomial function. Results were analyzed in terms of molecular interactions and compared with literature data.     

Thermochemistry of interactions of Na+ with benzo-15-crown-5 ether in acetonitrile-water mixtures at 298.15 K

Enthalpies of dissolution of benzo-15-crown-5 ether (B15C5) in mixtures of acetonitrile with water and in solutions of NaI and NaBPh₄ (I=0.05 mol dm^–3) in these mixtures were measured at 298.15 K. From the obtained results and appropriate literature data, the thermodynamic functions of B15C5/Na⁺ complex formation in acetonitrile-water mixtures were determined. The enthalpies of transfer of the complex B15C5/Na⁺ from pure acetonitrile to the examined mixtures were calculated and are discussed.     

First Synthesis of 2a-Thiol Ether Analog of Docetaxel

The chemistry of anticancer drug paclitaxel (=Taxol, 1a) has been extensively explored in recent years. Selective transport of cesium ion in polymeric CTA membrane containing calixcrown ethers

A series of calixcrown ethers for which the cavity size of the crown ring is varied from crown-6 to crown-7 to crown-8 were examined for the transport abilities toward alkali metal ions. These ligands were incorporated into supported liquid membranes (SLMs) and into polymer inclusion membranes (PIMs) composed of cellulose triacetate (CTA) as a support and 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE) and tris(2-butoxyethyl) phosphate (TBEP) as a plasticizer. In both membrane systems, calixcrown-6 showed the best selectivity toward a cesium ion over other alkali metal ions. The polymeric CTA membrane showed more rapid transport rate as well as higher durability than did the SLMs.     

Thermocontrolling ion permeation through binary component membrane composed of crown ether liquid crystal/PVC

In view of the nature of orderness in structure and the mesomorphism in property of liquid crystal, the function of which is further exploited by integrating it with the feature of crown ether. The monoarmed crown ether liquid crystals are successfully applied to the imitation of biomembrane transport. Binary component membrane composed of crown ether liquid crystal and PVC was first developed. Such a novel model of biomimetic membrane is capable of imitating ingeniously the thermocontrolling transport of biomembrane, thus the essential function of liquid crystal in membane transport is more fully exploited. It was suggested, consequently, that the molecules of the crown ether liquid crystal could assemble themselves to form ionic channels, as they exist in mesophase.Of still more significance is that the thermocontrolling transport of ions through the membrane is found to be operative selectively and the permeation of ion is under the direct influence of the thermal turmoil of the crown ether liquid cr     

LSGMC5含量对于二甲醚燃料电池复合Ni-Fe阳极性能的影响

用浸渍法制备了掺杂不同质量分数的La0.8Sr0.2Ga0.8Mg0.15Co0.05O3-δ (LSGMC5)粉末的Ni8-Fe2-LSGMC5复合阳极, 并采用交流阻抗和直流极化技术考察了以氢气和二甲醚为燃气时该复合阳极的电化学性能及相应电池的功率输出特性. 结果表明, 在电极中掺入LSGMC5 粉末, 能显著地改善电极的形貌和电极/电解质界面结构, 减小欧姆电阻和极化电阻. 电极中LSGMC5 粉末含量对于氢气及二甲醚电化学氧化性能的影响显著不同. 以二甲醚为燃气时, 电极极化电阻随LSGMC5 粉末含量的增加而减小, 其中LSGMC5 掺杂量为30%的复合阳极具有最高的电化学性能, 相应电池在1073、1023、973 K 时的输出功率分别为1.00、0.61、0.40 W·cm-2; 以氢气为燃气时, LSGMC5 掺杂量为20%的复合阳极具有最好的电化学性能, 随着LSGMC5 掺杂量的进一步增加, 电极极化电阻显著增大.     

Golden crowns: cation binding by macrocyclic gold(I) crown ether derivatives

The polyether bis(alkynes) α,ω-bis(O-propargyl)triethylene glycol and α,ω-bis(O-4-propargyloxyphenoxy)triethylene glycol reacted with [AuCl(SMe₂)] in the presence of base to form the corresponding oligomeric gold(I) acetylide complexes (AuCCCH₂O(CH₂CH₂O)₃CH₂CCAu)_n and (AuCCCH₂OC₆H₄O(CH₂CH₂O)₃C₆H₄OCH₂CCAu)_n. These digold(I) diacetylide complexes reacted with diphosphine ligands to give macrocyclic digold(I) complexes of the type [Au₂(μ-CC)(μ-PP)], where CC is the diacetylide and PP is a diphosphine ligand. These digold(I) complexes bind the cations Li⁺, Na⁺, K⁺ and Cs⁺, as studied by electrospray mass spectrometry.     

Fluorinated poly(arylene ether ketone)s bearing pentafluorostyrene moieties prepared by a modified polycondensation

The polycondensation of decafluorobenzophenone with hexafluorobisphenol A was modified by the addition of a molecular sieve dehydrating apparatus to the refluxing reaction system. This modification promoted the polymerization and enabled the reactions to be conducted in milder conditions and completed in a shorter time, thereby depressing side reactions such as branching and crosslinking. The resulting fluorinated poly(arylene ether ketone)s (FPAEK) were free of gel particles and possessed the designed molecular weights. This modified procedure was also suitable for introducing crosslinkable pentafluorostyrene (FSt) moieties into the polymers at the chain ends and/or inside the chain with the vinyl group of FSt being pendant. The resulting FSt containing fluorinated poly(arylene ether ketone)s (FPAEK‐FSt) can then be thermally crosslinked at 100 °C in the presence of 1% benzoyl peroxide (BPO) or at 250 °C without any initiator. The glass‐transition temperatures (T_g's) of FPAEK increased with increasing molecular weight and leveled off at about 147 °C for the polymer with a number‐average molecular weight of 18,600 Da, whereas the values were not apparently affected by the addition of FSt units. However, crosslinking of the FPAEK‐FSt resulted in an approximate 30 °C increase of the T_g. Spin‐coating FPAEK‐FSt onto silicon wafers followed by crosslinking gave films with excellent thermal stability, physical strength, and adhesion to the substrate as well as good reproducibility in terms of film preparation and optical properties. The refractive index and birefringence of the films measured at a wavelength of 1.55 μm were 1.502 and 2.5 × 10^?3, respectively. © 2002 Government of Canada. Pyrimidino- and Proton-ionizable Pyrimidono-crown Ether Ligands: Synthesis and Preliminary Complexation Studies

Pyrimidino-crown ethers were prepared in 30-50% yields by reactingthe ditosylate derivative of the appropriate oligoethylene glycol with4-methoxy-5-methyl-2,6-pyrimidinedimethanol under basic conditions. A newmacrocyclic ligand containing a proton-ionizable pyrimidone subcyclic unitwas prepared in 88% yield by treating the appropriatepyrimidino-crown ether with 5 M NaOH in 50% (v/v) aqueous methanol.Preliminary complexation properties of some of these new compounds werestudied using various NMR spectral techniques. Good enantiomeric recognitionwas exhibited by a chiral pyrimidino-crown ether for the enantiomers of1-(-naphthyl)ethylammonium perchlorate.     

聚醚醚酮酮和含联苯聚醚醚酮酮共聚物的熔融热

根据Ｆｌｏｒｙ热力学统计理论和比容－熔融热作国法，由ＤＳＣ结果得到了不同联苯含量的聚醚醚酮酮－含联苯聚醚醚酮酮（ＰＥＥＫＫ－ＰＥＢＥＫＫ）共聚物的熔融热，两种方法获得的结果吻合。在此基础上给出了ＰＥＥＫＫ－ＰＥＢＥＫＫ共聚物不同联苯含量的熔点计算表达式。结果还表明，随着联苯含量ｎＢ，的变化，明显改变；当ｎＢ＝０．３５时，ＰＥＥＫＫＰＥＢＥＫＫ共聚物的值最小。
