Noise effects on coherence resonance and synchronization of Hindmarsh-Rose (HR) neuron model are studied. The coherence resonance of a single HR neuron with Gaussian white noise added to the membrane potential is investigated in situations before, near and after the Hopf bifurcation, separately, with the external direct current as a bifurcation parameter. It is shown that even though there is no coupling between neurons, uncoupled identical HR neurons driven by a common noise can achieve complete synchronization when the noise intensity is higher than a critical value. Furthermore, noise also enhances complete synchronization of weakly coupled neurons. It is concluded that synchronization in bursting neurons is easier to be induced than in spiking ones, and coupling enhances the sensitivity of synchronization of neurons to noise stimulus. 相似文献

Considering the fact that memristors have the characteristics similar to biological synapses, a fractional-order multistable memristor is proposed in this paper. It is verified that the fractional-order memristor has multiple local active regions and multiple stable hysteresis loops, and the influence of fractional-order on its nonvolatility is also revealed. Then by considering the fractional-order memristor as an autapse of Hindmarsh-Rose (HR) neuron model, a fractional-order memristive neuron model is developed. The effects of the initial value, external excitation current, coupling strength and fractional-order on the firing behavior are discussed by time series, phase diagram, Lyapunov exponent and inter spike interval (ISI) bifurcation diagram. Three coexisting firing patterns, including irregular asymptotically periodic (A-periodic) bursting, A-periodic bursting and chaotic bursting, dependent on the memristor initial values, are observed. It is also revealed that the fractional-order can not only induce the transition of firing patterns, but also change the firing frequency of the neuron. Finally, a neuron circuit with variable fractional-order is designed to verify the numerical simulations. 相似文献

Objective: the complexity of heart-rate variability (HRV) in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients with different pulmonary capacities was evaluated. Methods: We set these according to their pulmonary capacity, and specifically forced vital capacity (FVC). We split the groups according to FVC (FVC > 50% (n = 29) and FVC < 50% (n = 28)). In ALS, the presence of an FVC below 50% is indicative of noninvasive ventilation with two pressure levels and with the absence of other respiratory symptoms. As the number of subjects per group was different, we applied the unbalanced one-way analysis of variance (uANOVA1) test after three tests of normality, and effect size by Cohen’s d to assess parameter significance. Results: with regard to chaotic global analysis, CFP4 (p < 0.001; d = 0.91), CFP5 (p = 0.0022; d = 0.85), and CFP6 (p = 0.0009; d = 0.92) were enlarged. All entropies significantly increased. Shannon (p = 0.0005; d = 0.98), Renyi (p = 0.0002; d = 1.02), Tsallis (p = 0.0004; d = 0.99), approximate (p = 0.0005; d = 0.97), and sample (p < 0.0001; d = 1.22). Detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) (p = 0.0358) and Higuchi fractal dimension (HFD) (p = 0.15) were statistically inconsequential between the two groups. Conclusions: HRV complexity in ALS subjects with different pulmonary capacities increased via chaotic global analysis, especially CFP5 and 3 out of 5 entropies. 相似文献

We have studied the stimulated discharge dynamics of fusimotor neurons by applying the wavelet transform technique and by adopting that the neuronal discharge dynamics is manifested by the random time series of interspike intervals. We found two different power-law type behaviors along interspike intervals (ISI) time scale (which implies existence of two different types of neuronal noise), which are separated by a crossover region. Our results reveal that complex neuronal dynamics, in the presence of external stimulation, is manifested with long-range correlated noise in the region before the crossover, on the ISI time scale. 相似文献

Chemical synaptic couplings are more common than electric(gap junction) connections in neurons. In this paper, the firing synchronizations induced by chemical synaptic coupling in chemically delayed scale-free networks of modified Hodgkin-Huxley neurons have been studied. It was found that the chemical coupling-induced synchronization transitions are delay-dependent and much different for various delay lengths. In the absence of delay, the neurons exhibit a transition from chaotic bursting(CB) to bursting synchr... 相似文献

Finger on the pulse: in a system of two pulse-coupled Belousov-Zhabotinsky oscillators, introducing a time delay or increasing the coupling strength brings about novel dynamic features (see picture, the two oscillators are shown in different colors), such as reversal of the roles of excitatory and inhibitory coupling or fast anti-phase oscillation. These features are not observed in diffusively coupled systems, and shed light on how such pulse coupling occurs at synapses. 相似文献
