Bayesian linear prediction in finite populations

In this paper, Bayesian linear prediction of the total of a finite population is considered in situations where the observation error variance is parameter dependent. Connections with least squares prediction (Royall (1976, J. Amer. Statist. Assoc., 71, 657–664)) in mixed linear models (Theil (1971, Principles of Econometrics, Wiley, New York)), are established. Extensions to the case of dynamic (state dependent) superpopulation models are also proposed.     

Structure and in vitro antifungal activity of [2,6‐bis(dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl]diphenyltin(IV) compounds

A set of seven [2,6‐bis(dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl]diphenyltin(IV) ({[(CH₃)₂NCH₂]₂(C₆H₃)}­(C₆H₅)₂Sn⁺X^?) ionic organotin(IV) compounds (X = Br, NO₃, CN, SCN, SeCN, BF₄ and PF₆) has been prepared and characterized by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, ¹H NMR spectroscopy in CDCl₃,¹¹⁹Sn NMR in CDCl₃ and DMSO‐d₆ solution, as well as by ¹³C and ¹¹⁹Sn CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy and X‐ray diffraction techniques in the solid state. The in vitro antifungal activity of these water‐soluble ionic organotin(IV) compounds was compared with starting compounds and the antifungal drugs currently in clinical use. 1,3-Dicarbonyl compounds as phosphine-free ligands for Pd-catalyzed Heck and Suzuki reactions

Some 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds (such as pentane-2,4-dione and 3-oxo-N-phenylbutanamide) were found to constitute highly efficient, yet low-priced and phosphine-free ligands for the Pd-catalyzed Heck and Suzuki reactions of aryl bromides and iodides with very high turnover numbers (ca. 103-104).     

税企博弈模型的再研究

本文以文[1]基础,在更一般条件下提出了税企博弈模型,得到新的骗税罚款系数公式.从理论上证明了税务机关对企业抽样检查与全面检查具有相同的经济效果.最后,给出建模应注意的几个问题.     

Electromigration of ionic micelles by the use of an isotachophoretic apparatus

Electromigration experiments of ionic surfactants were performed by using a capillary tube isotachophoretic apparatus. The zone of the migrated surfactant was collected after separation, and the surfactant concentration of the migrated zone was determined by HPLC analysis. The surfactant concentration of the migrated zone was increased with an increase in electrolyte concentration, and was in accord with the prediction of the Kohlrausch equation. When the electrolyte concentration further increased, the surfactant molecules began to migrate as a micellar state. Moreover, the mixed systems of ionic-non ionic and ionic-ionic surfactants were also examined and revealed the migration as mixed micelle.     

The system Y2O3−CaO−P2O5

The ternary system Y₂O₃?CaO?P₂O₅ has been examined by DTA, X-ray diffraction, IR and microscopic methods. Its phase diagram has been provided within the composition range YPO₄?Ca₃(PO₄)₂?P₂O₅. The occurrence of four mixed phosphates: Ca₃Y(PO₄)₃, CaYP₃O₁₀, CaY(PO₃)₅, Ca₂Y(PO₃)₇ has been discovered in the system. Basic X-ray data have been determined for these newly discovered compounds and several methods of their synthesis developed.     

On Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of functional equations

In this paper, we investigate the stability of functional equation given by the pseudoadditive mappings of the mixed quadratic and Pexider type in the spirit of Hyers, Ulam, Rassias and Gavruta.     

Optimal convergence analysis of mixed finite element methods for fourth‐order elliptic and parabolic problems

By using a special interpolation operator developed by Girault and Raviart (finite element methods for Navier‐Stokes Equations, Springer‐Verlag, Berlin, 1986), we prove that optimal error bounds can be obtained for a fourth‐order elliptic problem and a fourth‐order parabolic problem solved by mixed finite element methods on quasi‐uniform rectangular meshes. Optimal convergence is proved for all continuous tensor product elements of order k ≥ 1. A numerical example is provided for solving the fourth‐order elliptic problem using the bilinear element. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2006

Confidence intervals and ellipsoids for estimable functions and estimable vectors in models with orthogonal block structure

Sub-models of mixed linear models are considered. The independence of these sub-models leads to sufficient statistics for the parameters relevant for their densities. Using pivot variables, confidence regions are obtained as well hypothesis testing for variance components, estimable functions, and estimable vectors. In addition, to compare the estimators and the models, we present the histograms with the empirical joint densities for positive and negative parts of the estimators. The figures, for the two-dimensional charts, contain the corresponding UMVUE and are all unimodal with the UMVUE near the mode. The nearness of the estimators and the modes validates the presented methodology and allows the safe use of induced densities. A numerical example applied to real data is presented.
