Thermal oxidative degradation of additive-free polypropylene pellets heated isothermally in dry air at 150 and 180 °C (below and above the melting point of 163 °C) was investigated by multichannel Fourier-transform chemiluminescence spectroscopy. The initial peak wavelength of chemiluminescence emission at 490 nm remained constant during the early stages of thermal degradation, but new emissions developed with time in the red spectral region over an extended oxidation period. The time-dependent luminescence spectra were deconvoluted into three emission bands by least-squares fitting using Gaussian curves. We concluded that at least three groups of luminescent species (luminophores), having different conjugation lengths, were generated by thermal oxidation over extended periods and show luminescence around 490, 660, and 740 nm.  相似文献

The Transition Rapidly exploring Random Eigenvector Assisted Tree (TRREAT) algorithm is introduced to perform searches along low curvature pathways on a potential energy surface (PES). The method combines local curvature information about the PES with an iterative Rapidly exploring Random Tree algorithm (LaValle, Computer Science Department, Iowa State University, 1998, TR98–11) that quickly searches high‐dimensional spaces for feasible pathways between local minima. Herein, the method is applied to identifying conformational changes of molecular systems using Cartesian coordinates while avoiding a priori definition of collective variables. We analyze the pathway identification problem for alanine dipeptide, cyclohexane and glycine using nonreactive and reactive forcefields. We show how TRREAT‐identified pathways can be used as valuable input guesses for double‐ended methods such as the Nudged Elastic Band when ascertaining transition state energies. This method can be utilized to improve/extend the reaction databases that lie at the core of automatic chemical reaction mechanism generator software currently developed to build kinetic models of chemical reactions. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Microstructure and phase behavior of decyltriethylammonium bromide (C10NE)/sodium decylsulfonate (C10SO3)/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)/water quaternary systems were studied by freeze‐fracture transmission electron microscopy, small angle X‐ray diffraction, and dynamic light scattering methods. Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) could be prepared by properly mixing the aqueous solution of PEO and equimolar mixed C10NE and C10SO3. It was shown that the top phase of the ATPS was surfactant‐enriched and mainly composed of multi‐lamellar structure, while the bottom phase of the ATPS was polymer‐enriched in which some vesicles were observed.  相似文献

CdS nanoparticles were formed on the surface of silica microspheres by the improved layer‐by‐layer self‐assembled technique. High‐resolution electron microscope (HRTEM) image and energy dispersive x‐ray analysis (EDX) confirmed formation of a quasi‐continuous CdS nanoparticles film on the silica microspheres. The results of UV‐vis and fluorescence spectra display that the spherical silica surface has a great effect on the photoluminescence of the loaded CdS nanoparticles. In contrast to the CdS nanoparticles powder, the composite can exhibit the emission ascribed to the band gap transition when the CdS nanoparticles film is relatively thick. This phenomenon is probably due to an enhancement of the crystallinity of CdS nanoparticles induced by the silica spheres.  相似文献

A new banana-shaped achiral molecule, 1,3-phenylene bis[4-(3-chloro-4-n-octyloxyphenyliminomethyl)benzoate] (PBCOB) has been synthesized, and its ferroelectric properties and homeotropic alignment investigated. The presence of a lateral chloro-substituent in the Schiff 's base moiety prevents the regular stacking of molecules and results in lowering the transition temperature and the degree of crystallinity of the switchable banana phase. Their smectic mesophases, including a switchable banana phase B7, were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray scattering and polarizing optical microscopy. Both the left- and right-handed helical domains are spontaneously formed upon cooling from the isotropic liquid to the switchable banana phase B7. By X-ray study, the smectic phases showed a layer spacing of 38.1 Å, compatible with the end-to-end distance of the molecule with a bent conformation. Significantly, the smectic B7 phase exhibited a periodicity of 292 Å that corresponds to a helical structure with periodicity about 7.5 times 38.1 Å. The spontaneous polarization for PBCOB is about 50 nCcm-2 and shows a temperature dependence. The ferroelectric lyomesophase of PBCOB showed a ferroelectric electro-optical switching range extending more than 50°C, switchable at room temperature.  相似文献

The titanium/silicon mono‐ and co‐doped amorphous carbon films were deposited by mid‐frequency magnetron sputtering Ti target, Si target, and Ti80S20 alloy target, respectively. The effects of doped elements on the composition, surface morphology, microstructure, and mechanical and tribological properties of the films were investigated. The results reveal that the ratio of sp3 and sp2 carbon bonds of the films is regulated between 0.28 and 0.62 by a combination of Ti and Si dopant. The addition of small amounts of silicon leads to an increase in sp3 bonds and disorder degree of the sp2 carbon. The co‐doped film exhibits significantly superior friction performance than the mono‐doped films. The ultra‐low friction (μ < 0.01) was achieved under a load of 2 N in ambient air with 40% RH. By comparing to the mono‐and co‐doped films, it is thought that the sp3/sp2 ratio of the films may play a key role for the superlow friction. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Although solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is a versatile analytical tool to study polymorphs and phase transitions of pharmaceutical molecules and products, this work summarizes examples of spontaneous and unexpected (and unwanted) structural rearrangements and phase transitions (amorphous-to-crystalline and crystalline-to-crystalline) under magic angle spinning (MAS) conditions, some of them clearly being due to the pressure experienced by the samples. It is widely known that such changes can often be detected by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD); here, the capability of solid-state NMR experiments with a special focus on 1H-13C frequency-switched Lee–Goldburg heteronuclear correlation (FSLG HETCOR)/MAS NMR experiments to detect even subtle changes on a molecular level not observable by conventional 1D NMR experiments or XRPD is presented. Furthermore, it is shown that a polymorphic impurity combined with MAS can induce a crystalline-to-crystalline phase transition. This showcases that solid-state NMR is not always noninvasive and such changes upon MAS should be considered in particular when compounds are studied over longer time spans.  相似文献

Prodigiosin is a red pigment produced by Serratia marcescens with anticancer, antimalarial, and antibacterial effects. In this study, we extracted and identified a red pigment from a culture of S. marcescens strain ZPG19 and investigated its effect on the growth performance and intestinal microbiota of Kunming mice. High-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry revealed that the pigment had a mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of 324.2160, and thus it was identified as prodigiosin. To investigate the effect of prodigiosin on the intestinal microbiota, mice (n = 5) were administered 150 μg/kg/d prodigiosin (crude extract, 95% purity) via the drinking water for 18 days. Administration of prodigiosin did not cause toxicity in mice. High-throughput sequencing analysis revealed that prodigiosin altered the cecum microbiota abundance and diversity; the relative abundance of Desulfovibrio significantly decreased, whereas Lactobacillus reuteri significantly increased. This finding indicates that oral administration of prodigiosin has a beneficial effect on the intestinal microbiota of mice. As prodigiosin is non-toxic to mouse internal organs and improves the mouse intestinal microbiota, we suggest that it is a promising candidate drug to treat intestinal inflammation.  相似文献
