Due to its unequalled advantages, the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) modality has truly revolutionized the diagnosis and evaluation of pathology. Because many morphological anatomic details that may not be visualized by other high tech imaging methods can now be readily shown by diagnostic MRI, it has already become the standard modality by which all other clinical imaging techniques are measured. The unique quantum physical basis of the MRI modality combined with the imaging capabilities of current computer technology has made this imaging modality a target of interdisciplinary interest for clinicians, physicists, biologists, engineers, and mathematicians. Due to the fact that MRI scanners perform corticomorphic processing, this modality is by far more complex than all the other high tech clinical imaging techniques. The purpose of this paper is to outline a phase coherent wavelet approach to Fourier transform MRI. It is based on distributional harmonic analysis on the Heisenberg nilpotent Lie group G and the associated symplectically invariant symbol calculus of pseudodifferential operators. The contour and contrast resolution of MRI scans which is controlled by symplectic filter bank processing gives the noninvasive MRI modality superiority over X-ray computed tomography (CT) in soft tissue differentiation. 相似文献

The deformed mean field of nuclei exhibits various geometrical and dynamical symmetries which manifest themselves as various
types of rotational and decay patterns. Most of the symmetry operations considered so far have been defined for a situation
wherein the angular momentum coincides with one of the principal axes and the principal axis cranking may be invoked. New
possibilities arise with the observation of rotational features in weakly deformed nuclei and now interpreted as magnetic
rotational bands. More than 120 MR bands have now been identified by filtering the existing data. We present a brief overview
of these bands. The total angular momentum vector in such bands is tilted away from the principal axes. Such a situation gives
rise to several new possibilities including breaking of chiral symmetry as discussed recently by Frauendorf. We present the

Magnetic hyperfine fields (mhf) at 111Cd and 140Ce nuclei, dilutely substituting the In and Ce sites, respectively, have been measured in the intermetallic compound CeIn3 using perturbed angular correlation technique. A pure electric quadrupole interaction with an axially symmetric electric field gradient was observed at 111In(EC)111Cd probe nuclei at room temperature while a combined magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole interaction is observed below 10K. Below the ordering temperature, only a magnetic interaction is observed at 140La(–)140Ce probe. The values of mhf measured experimentally as a function of temperature are discussed in terms of critical behavior. 相似文献

The relationship between the transported ion current and the cathodic arc current is determined in a vacuum arc plasma source equipped with a curved magnetic filter. Our results suggest that the outer and inner walls of the duct interact with the plasma independently. The duct magnetic field is a critical factor of the plasma output. The duct transport efficiency is to maximize at a value of bias plate voltage in the range +10 V to +20 V, and independent (within our limit of measurement) of the magnetic field strength in the duct. The plasma flux is composed of two components: a diffusion flux in the transverse direction due to particle collisions, and a drift flux due to the ion inertia. The inner wall of the magnetic duct sees only the diffusion flux while the outer wall receives both fluxes. Thus, applying a positive potential to the outer duct wall can reflect the ions and increase the output current. Our experimental data also show that biasing both sides of the duct is more effective than biasing the outer wall alone. 相似文献

The magnetocaloric effect in polycrystalline of Pr1-xSrxMnO3 (x=0.33, 0.43, 0.50) has been investigated. A large magnetic entropy change (7.1J/kgK) was discovered in Pr0.5Sr0.5MnO3 under a low magnetic field of 1T at charge-ordered state transition temperature (161K). The physical mechanism is related to a drastic magnetization change at a temperature where the field-induced magnetic, electron and structural phase transitions occur (from the antiferromagnetic charge-ordered state to the ferromagnetic charge-disordered state). 相似文献

采用溶胶 凝胶法制备了系列La0 .8-xCa0 .2 MnO3 多晶样品 ,用X射线衍射分析确定了样品的钙钛矿结构 ,用透射电子显微镜观察了样品的形貌及粒径分布情况 ,用PAR15 5型振动样品磁强计测量了样品的磁性随外场和温度的变化 ,确定样品的居里温度并计算了各样品的磁熵变 .磁测量及计算结果表明制备的各样品的居里温度在180— 2 6 0K的范围内且随焙烧温度和La3 离子空位浓度的不同而变化 ,不同温度焙烧的样品均有较大的磁熵变值 ,其中 110 0℃焙烧的La0 77Ca0 .2 MnO3,多晶样品在 2 40 5K ,H =1 0T的外场下的磁熵变达 3 76J/kg·K ,对实验结果做了定性的分析 .该材料具有较高的居里温度和较大的磁熵变 ,所需外场强度适中 ,电阻率高 ,性能稳定 ,适合做高温磁制冷材料 . 相似文献

polymer microspheres which were detected in the presence of external steady magnetic fields by means of an r.f.-SQUID magnetometer.
The particles were prepared in samples differing in the concentration value and immersed in a homogeneous magnetic field of
variable intensity. A simple model was taken into account for the distribution of the microspheres in the samples, so that

The effect of three-dimensional perturbed velocity and three-dimensional perturbed current density on the beam-wave interaction of dielectric Cherenkov maser is analysed by use of the self-consistent linear field theory. Three distinct cases are considered. First, the propagation of the electron beam in an annular dielectric liner enclosed by a loss-free conducting wall is investigated. The dispersion equation and the simultaneous condition of the beam-wave interaction are derived. It's clearly shown that the instability of the interaction results from the coupling of the TM mode in the dielectric lined slow-wave waveguide to the beam mode via the electron beam. And the coupling is proportional to the density of the beam. The growth rate of the wave produced by the electron beam are obtained. Then, the case of a relativistic electron beam guided by a longitudinal magnetic field in the same slow-wave structure is examined. The motion of electrons could be approximated to be one-dimensional when the simultaneous condition of the beam-wave interaction of dielectric Cherenkov maser is satisfied. Finally, the effect of the background plasma on the instability of the beam-wave interaction is studied.This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China. 相似文献
