A method is provided to achieve an initial basic feasible solution of a linear programming in this paper. This method dose not need introducing any artificial variable, but needs only solving an auxiliary linear programming. Compared with the traditional two-phase method, it has advantages of saving the memories and reducing the computational efforts.

利用Lyapunov函数和线性矩阵不等式(LMI),给出了判定一类双向联想记忆(BAM)神经网络模型的指数稳定的充分性条件.该条件去掉了以往论文中所要求的激活函数单调,可微分的条件,而且所得结果利用里的工具易于检测.并举例说明本文结果的有效性.     

Characteristic polynomials of linear polyacenes and their subspectrality

Coefficients of characteristic polynomials (CP) of linear polyacenes (LP) have been shown to be obtainable from Pascal’s triangle by using a graph factorisation and squaring technique. Strong subspectrality existing among the members of the linear polyacene series has been shown from the derivation of the CP’s. Thus it has been shown that the entire eigenspectrum of ann-ring LP is included in that of (2n + 1)-ring LP. Correspondence between the eigenspectra of linear chains and LP’s is brought out by a recently developed vertex-alternation and squaring algorithm.     

Deposition of osmium and ruthenium thin films from organometallic cluster precursors

Single‐source organometallic precursors based on a number of homometallic clusters as well as heterometallic cluster RuOs₃(CO)₁₃(µ‐H)₂ have been used for the chemical vapor deposition of osmium films and osmium–ruthenium alloy films, respectively. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

A Uniform Exponential Spectrum for Linear Flows on Vector Bundles

For linear flows on vector bundles we define a uniform exponential spectrum. For a compact invariant set for the projected flow we obtain this spectrum by taking all accumulation points for the time tending to infinity of the union over the finite time exponential growth rates for all initial values in this set. Using direct arguments we show that for a connected compact invariant set this spectrum is a closed interval whose boundary points are Lyapunov exponents. For a compact invariant set on which the flow is chain transitive we show that this spectrum coincides with the Morse spectrum. In particular, this approach admits a straightforward analytic proof for the regularity and continuity properties of the Morse spectrum without using cohomology or ergodicity results.     

Quantum phase transitions of fermionic atoms in an anisotropic triangular optical lattice

The effect of anisotropy caused by a confining potential on the properties of fermionic cold atoms in a triangular optical lattice is systematically investigated by using the dynamical cluster approximation combined with the continuous time quantum Monte–Carlo algorithm.The quantum phase diagrams which reflect the temperature–interaction relation and the competition between the anisotropic parameter and the interaction are presented with full consideration of the anisotropy of the system.Our results show that the system undergoes a transition from Fermi liquid to Mott insulator when the repulsive interaction reaches a critical value.The Kondo effect also can be observed in this system and the pseudogap is suppressed at low temperatures due to the Kondo effect.A feasible experiment protocol to observe these phenomena in an anisotropic triangular optical lattice with cold atoms is proposed,in which the hopping terms are closely related to the lattice confining potential and the atomic interaction can be adjusted via the Feshbach resonance.     

Response to the comments by J.H. Evans on ‘On the onset of void ordering in metals under neutron or heavy-ion irradiation’

Evans's comments are related only loosely to the main body of our paper, which is devoted to the onset of void ordering: his Monte Carlo simulations of this early stage of ordering are in a qualitative agreement with our results. They question, however, the basic mechanisms of damage accumulation revealed by a number of scientists using various techniques over the years. Here we argue that his views are erroneous due to overlooking some essential features of one-dimensional defect transport.     

Benzene Induced 1H NMR Shifts of Chromeno-Compounds: An Aid to Differentiate Linear and Angular Chromenoflavones

Benzene-induced shifts (BIS) in the ¹H NMR spectra of nine chromeno-compounds have been studied. It provides a simple non-destructive technique for distinguishing linear isomers of chromenoflavones from their angular counterparts. BIS also assists in the assignment of chromene proton signals in chromeno-compounds.
