Comparison of subwavelength focusing properties of diffraction and Fresnel zone plate plasmonic planar lenses

The subwavelength focusing properties of diffractive plasmonic planar lenses (DPLs) and Fresnel zone plate plasmonic planar lenses (FZPs) have been compared in this paper. To that end, we use the same lens material, incident wavelength, thickness and focal length for comparison. Both DPLs and FZPs consist of central circular slits surrounded by transparent and opaque zones and can get clear focusing performances. By using the rigorous electromagnetic numerical method, the fields in the focal region are analyzed in detail, and our results demonstrate that FZP can generate higher transmission efficiency, and higher peak field intensity at the focal plane. Focusing polarization properties of the lens illuminated by linearly polarized state, are calculated and analyzed also. The numerical results show that both the DPL and the FZP produce asymmetrical focal spot distributions with a low f-number. To the FZP, the full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) varies from 256 nm (along y-axis) to 516 nm(along x-axis) and to the DPL, the FWHM varies from 256 nm(along y-axis) to 580 nm(along x-axis), respectively. But for a high f-number, the asymmetrical performance of the focal spot will be reduced due to complicated electromagnetical field interferences and micro waveguide effect. Otherwise, the DPL can get a higher depolarization effect than the FZP does.     

Neutron diffraction experiments in diamond and sapphire anvil cells

Diamond anvil cells (DAC) provide the highest static pressures ≥1?Mbar. Because of the low intensity of neutron sources, for a long time it was thought impossible to use DAC or other anvil cells in neutron experiments. We describe pressure cells with diamond and sapphire anvils and neutron instrumentation allowing neutron diffraction experiments to be carried out under pressures as high as 50?GPa, temperatures down to 0.1?K, and applied magnetic fields up to 7.5?T.     

密度泛函理论研究Nin,Nin±(n=1-5)团簇的结构和电子性质

采用基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理方法系统研究了中性及带电Ni小团簇的基态几何结构和电子结构特性。对中性Nin(n=1-5)团簇,除去一个电子对基态几何结构所引起的变化相比增加一个电子所引起的影响要更加明显。n=4时,Ni+4,Ni4以及Ni4-较之相邻个体具有较大的能隙,但在所讨论的尺寸范围内,没有找到幻数结构。随着原子数的递增,Nin+,Nin,Nin-(n=1-5)团簇体系的磁矩总体呈上升趋势,值得关注的是：添加一个电子能够显著增强中性体系的磁性。 讨论了与实验结论符合较好的绝热电子亲和能（AEAs）以及绝热离化势（AIPs）。     

Effect of Cu doping on the magnetic and electrical properties of n=2 Ruddlesden-Popper manganates

A series of polycrystalline Cu-doped n=2 Ruddlesden-Popper manganates La1.2Sr1.8CuzMn（2-x）O7 （x=0, 0.04, 0.13） were synthesized by the solid state reaction method. The effect of Cu doping on the magnetic and transport properties has been studied. It is found that Cu substitution for Mn greatly affects the magnetic and electrical properties of the parent phase La1.2Sr1.8Mn2O7. With the increase of Cu content, the system undergoes a transition from longrange ferromagnetic order to the spin glass state and further to an antiferromagnetic order. A little of Cu dopant can lead to the samples showing semiconductor or insulator behaviour in the whole observed temperature range while the parent phase has a metal-insulator transition. These samples show colossal magnetoresistance at low temperatures and the value of it decreases with increasing Cu content.     

多孔球层内核态沸腾过程特性的实验观察

本文以水为实验工质,对从底部加热多孔球层内核态沸腾过程进行可视化观察。通过高速图像采集系统;拍摄和观察了孔隙内汽泡的成长过程,在实验观察的基础上,对多孔球层内核态沸腾过程的一些基本特性进行了分析和讨论。     

Zone–edge optical transitions in GaAs/AlAs lateral superlattices grown on vicinal surfaces by molecular beam epitaxy

We report on new features in the photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra and PLE linear polarization spectra of GaAs/AlAs lateral superlattices grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). These lines appear systematically as the tilt angle of the lateral superlattice is varied. They are identified as zone–edge excitonic transitions by comparison between experimental data and detailed numerical calculations of optical transitions including valence-band mixing and tilt effects.     

原子镁的电子碰撞电离

使用Ｒ－矩阵方法，在扭曲库仑－玻恩非交换近似下（ＤＣＢＮＸ）采用二态密耦图象，计算了原子镁从电离阈值附近到１００ｅＶ范围的电子碰撞电离截面。从能量微分截面可看到明显的Ｒｙｄｂｅｒｇ系列共振。
