A simple and rapid microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) technique has been developed for the determination of water-soluble inorganic species (cations: Na+, NH4+, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ and anions: F–, Cl–, NO3–, PO43– and SO42–) in airborne particulate matter. The analytes were extracted under different treatment conditions such as microwave power and extraction time. They were quantified using ion chromatography. The observed concentrations and recovery yields obtained under different conditions were compared. The results of a comparison between this MAE and sonication using NIST SRM 1648 are also given in this paper. The optimized MAE technique gave results in good agreement with the values obtained by the sonication. For some ions, for example Mg2+ and K+, recovery was low with both techniques. The results demonstrated that the optimized MAE is fast and efficient compared with conventional ultrasonic extraction. Urban airborne particles were collected and subjected to the MAE followed by the IC analysis to determine the relative proportions of different water-soluble inorganic species. The uptake behavior of porous silica modified with N‐propylsalicylaldimine (IE11) for Cd(II), Cr(III), Cu(II), Mn(II) and Pb(II) metal ions were studied. The Log kd values were found to be within the range 2.19–5.16 depending on pH and time of stirring. IE11 was used in the separation and preconcentration of Cd(II), Cr(III), Cu(II), Mn(II) and Pb(II) from some natural water samples. The data were compared with those obtained by the solvent extraction method (APDC/MIBK). The method was found to be accurate and precise and not subject to random error. 相似文献

The synthesis and complexing properties of a calix[4]arene derivate (6) carrying two spirobenzopyran moieties are described. The addition of lanthanide ions resulted in significant UV-vis spectral shifts (68-84 nm) in visible region. It indicates that the synthetic receptor can recognize lanthanide ions by naked eyes over other cations including Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Fe3+, Cu2+ and Zn2+. The mechanism of recognition was studied with 1H NMR, UV-vis spectra and emission spectra. The receptor may be applied to sense lanthanide ions. 相似文献

Global climate change, growing population, and environmental pollution underscore the need for a greater focus on providing advanced water treatment technologies. Although electrochemical based-processes are becoming promising solutions, they still face challenges owing to mass transport and upscaling which hinder the exploitation of this technology. Electrode design and reactor configuration are key factors for achieving operational improvements. The electroactive membrane has proven to be a breakthrough technology integrating electrochemistry and membrane separation with an enhanced mass transport by convection. In this review article, we discuss recent progress in environmental applications of electroactive membranes with particular focus on those composed of carbon nanotubes (CNT) due to their intriguing physicochemical properties. Their applications in degradation of refractory contaminants, detoxification and sequestration of toxic heavy metal ions, and membrane fouling alleviations are systematically reviewed. We then discuss the existing limitations and opportunities for future research. The development of advanced electroactive systems depends on interdisciplinary collaborations in the areas of materials, electrochemistry, membrane development, and environmental sciences. 相似文献

A novel polyoxometalate-cation exchanger, titanium(IV) molybdophosphate (TMP) has been synthesized under varying conditions. The material was characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma and thermogravimetry techniques. Its stability was investigated in water, dilute acids, alkaline solutions, and high temperature up to 750 °C. Ion-exchange capacity and distribution coefficients (Kd) for twenty-nine radionuclides and metal ions have been determined. It was found that the TMP has high affinity for Cs+, Sr2+, UO22+, Ba2+, Pb2+, Tl+, Zn2+, Rb2+ and Zr4+ ions. The results of binary separation of metal ions showed that TMP can be potentially useful for analytical applications. 相似文献

Silica gel was firstly functionalized with aminopropyltrimethoxysilane obtaining the aminopropylsilica gel (APSG). The APSG was reacted subsequently with curcumin yielding curcumin-bonded silica gel (curcumin-APSG). This new bonded silica gel was used for separation, pre-concentration and determination of Cu(II), Fe(III), Zn(II) in biological and natural water samples by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of metal ions were optimized with respect to different experimental parameters using batch and column procedures in detail. The optimum pH value for the separation of metal ions simultaneously on the newly sorbent was 4.0. Complete elution of the adsorbed metal ions from the sorbent surface was carried out using 2.0 mL of 0.1 mol L− 1 of HCl. Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination at pH 4.0. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 0.63, 0.46 and 0.37 mmol g− 1 for Cu(II), Fe(III) and Zn(II) respectively. The time for 95% sorption for Cu(II) Fe(III) and Zn(II) was less than 2 min. The detection limits of the method defined by IUPAC was found to be 0.12, 0.15 and 0.40 ng mL− 1 for Cu(II), Fe(III) and Zn(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was lower 3.0% (n = 5). The procedure was validated by analyzing the certified reference river sediment material (GBW 08301, China), the results obtained were in good agreement with standard values. This sorbent was successfully employed in the separation and pre-concentration of trace Cu(II), Fe(III) and Zn(II) from the biological and natural water samples yielding 75-fold concentration factor. 相似文献

A new chemiluminescence system of Tb3+/K2S2O8 was developed for the determination of albumin. Some experimental conditions were examined and optimized. The linear ranges of the calibration curves are 5.0 × 10?9–5.0 × 10?6 mol/L for bovine serum albumin, 5.0 × 10?8–1.0 × 10?5 mol/L for human serum albumin and 2.5 × 10?7–1.0 × 10?5 mol/L for ovalbumin, and the corresponding detection limits are 1.9 × 10?9 mol/L, 1.5 × 10?8 mol/L, and 1.5 × 10?7 mol/L, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of albumin in human serum samples, and the results were in agreement with those obtained by the bromcresol green method.
