Clostridium beijerinckii BA101 (mutant strain) and C. beijerinckii 8052 (wild type) were compared for substrate and butanol inhibition. The wild-type strain is more strongly inhibited by added
butanol than is the mutant strain. Acetone and butanol were removed from a fed-batch reactor inoculated with C. beijcrinckii BA101 by pervaporation using a silicone membrane. In the batch reactor, C. beijerinckii BA101 produced 25.3 g/L of total solvents, whereas in the fermentation-recovery experiment it produced 165.1 g/L of total
solvents. Solvent productivity increased from 0.35 (batch reactor) to 0.98 g/L·h (fed-batch reactor). The fed-batch reactor
wasfed with 500 g/L of glucose-based P2 medium. Acetone selectivities ranged from 2 to 10 whereas butanol selectivities ranged
from 7 to 19. Total flux varied from 26 to 31 g/m2·h. 相似文献
This paper investigates the bifurcation behaviour of a model oxidation reaction in a continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR). We assume that two gaseous chemical species are pumped separately into the CSTR, at constant total pressure, reacting to produce an inert product. The reaction is assumed to be a single step reaction that is described by Arrhenius kinetics. It is capable of producing oscillatory behaviour as well as steady state multiplicity in certain parameter regions. Bifurcation diagrams in various control parameter spaces are presented. We show that the system always possesses a globally attracting invariant region. The equivalence of a CSTR having n feed streams and the one pipe version, by appropriate rescaling, is also discussed. 相似文献
Summary: This work demonstrated the severity of heterogeneity issues with ampoule reactors in bulk atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate. The kinetic data of CuII concentration, monomer conversion, and polymer molecular weight varied from location to location along the ampoule. However, the polymer molecular weight versus conversion data from different locations fell into a single theoretical line. All locations except for the bottom part of the ampoule produced polymers having narrow molecular weight distribution.

Summary: Monomodal microwaves have overcome the safety uncertainties associated with the precedent domestic microwave ovens. After fast acceptance in inorganic and organic syntheses, polymer chemists have also recently discovered this new kind of microwave reactor. An almost exponential increase of the number of publications in this field reflects the steadily growing interest in the use of microwave irradiation for polymerizations. This review introduces the microwave systems and their applications in polymer syntheses, covering step‐growth and ring‐opening, as well as radical polymerization processes, in order to summarize the hitherto realized polymerizations. Special attention is paid to the differences between microwave‐assisted and conventional heating as well as the “microwave effects”.
