The electrospray droplet impact (EDI) was applied to bradykinin, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), SiO2/Si, and indium phosphide (InP). It was found that bradykinin deposited on the stainless steel substrate was ionized/desorbed without the accumulation of radiation products. The film thickness desorbed by a single collisional event was found to be less than 10 monolayers. In the EDI mass spectra for PET, several fragment ions were observed but the XPS spectra did not change with prolonged cluster irradiation. The etching rate for SiO2 by EDI was measured to be ∼0.2 nm/min. The surface roughness of InP etched by EDI was found to be one order of magnitude smaller than that etched by 3 keV Ar+ for about the same etching depths. EDI is capable of shallow surface etching with little damage left on the etched surface. 相似文献

The M-effect (monochromatization-effect) is a powerful tool which can give high intensity monochromatic spectra with a certain
wavelength depending on the type of used gas mixtures to generate plasma state. The effect consists in the emission of a single
spectral line of plasmas ignited in certain gas mixtures. The main condition to obtain the M effect is the presence of an
electropositive and an electronegative gas mixture. For example, in the case of Ne+H2 monochrome radiation was obtained, the wavelength of Ne being 585.3 nm (1s2–2p5). In this paper we prove the general character of this effect, i.e. if the optical emission spectra reduced to nearly one
line can be observed also in other gas mixture discharges, for example in the case of one electronegative gas and two electropositive

Methods to determine distances between paramagnetic metal centers and radicals are scarce. This is unfortunate because paramagnetic metal centers are frequent in biological systems and so far have not been employed much as distance markers. Successful pulse sequences that directly target the dipolar interactions cannot be applied to paramagnetic metal centers with fast relaxation rates and large g-anisotropy, if no echos can be detected and the excitation bandwidth is not sufficient to cover a sufficiently large part of the spectrum. The RIDME method Kulik et al. (2002) [20] circumvents this problem by making use of the T1-induced spin-flip of the transition-metal ion. Designed to measure distance between such a fast relaxing metal center and a radical, it suffers from a dead time problem. We show that this is severe because the anisotropy of the metal center broadens the dipolar curves, which therefore, only can be analyzed if the full curve is known. Here, we introduce five-pulse RIDME (5p-RIDME) that is intrinsically dead-time free. Proper functioning of the sequence is demonstrated on a nitroxide biradical. The distance between a low-spin Fe(III) center and a spin label in spin-labeled cytochrome f shows the complete dipolar trace of a transition-metal ion center and a spin label, yielding the distance expected from the structure. 相似文献

The α preformation factor and penetration probability
have been analyzed for even--even nuclei of Po, Rn, Ra using
experimental released energies and α decay half-lives in the
frame of the double folding model. It is shown that N=126 is a neutron
magic number from α preformation and shell effects play
an important role in α preformation. The closer the
nucleon number is to the magic number, the more difficult α
formation in the parent nucleus is. The preformation factor can
supply information on the nuclear structure and the penetration

We have studied the optimum geometries and the magnetic behavior of small binary FenGem (n+m≤4) clusters usingab initio spin-polarized density functional calculations. Our results reveal that the optimized clusters present high values in the HOMO–LUMO gap and generally prefer structures with high geometries, the local magnetic moments at Fe atoms present an enhancement with respect to Fe bulk magnetization, whereas the Ge atoms present local magnetic moments whose modulus take significative values. The magnetic coupling between Fe and Ge atoms is mainly antiferromagnetic-like. All the clusters studied here present a charge transference from Fe atoms to Ge atoms. 相似文献
