Convergence of weighted sums of random elements in D[0, 1]

Convergence in probability for Toeplitz weighted sums is obtained for convex tight random elements in D[0, 1] under pointwise conditions. The almost sure convergence of the weighted sums is proved for independent, convex tight random elements and for independent, identically distributed random elements. Special techniques and concepts are developed in order to obtain these results in the Skorohod topology of D[0, 1].     

Atomic short-range order in CuMn alloys

The establishment of atomic short-range order (SRO) has been investigated in CuMn alloys (5, 8,13,16,20 at. % Mn) by measurement of the electrical resistivity during isochronal and isothermal annealing. An increasing degree of SRO is accompanied by a reduction of resistivity; this effect increases with Mn concentration. For 8,13 and 16 at. % Mn SRO kinetics turn out to deviate significantly from single exponential behavior with a maximum at 13 at. % Mn, whereas at 5 and 20 at. % Mn SRO is adjusted in a single exponential process. For data analysis three methods are used: a sum of two and three exponentials as well as a log-normal spectrum of relaxation times. The strong interaction between second-nearest-neighbor atoms in CuMn seems to be essential for SRO kinetics but of minor importance for the value of SRO-induced resistivity change.     

Intensity distribution in the vibronic Γ7(2 T 2g )→Γ8(4 A 2g ) transition of ReBr 6 2− in Hexahalogenostannate host crystals

The phosphorescence spectra of ReBr ₆ ^2– doped A₂SnX₆ (A = K, Rb, Cs; X = Cl, Br) have been measured at 10 K. The spectra consist of a weighted sum of progressions associated with the local modes of the ReBr ₆ ^2– center. By a fit to a generalized Lorentzian line shape function the totally symmetric distortion of the ₇(² T _2g ) excited state relative to the ₈(⁴ A _2g ) ground state has been determined.Dedicated to Professor Dr. H.-H. Bifunktionelle Titrationen von Metallionen mit Komplexbildnern gegen die Glaselektrode

Zusammenfassung Die Titration von Al mit NaF-Maßlösung kann mit einer Glaselektrode indiziert werden. Bestimmungen in Messing und Stahl sind beschrieben und eine allgemeine Arbeitsvorschrift wird gegeben. Die relative Standardabweichung liegt zwischen ± 0,2 und ±1,7%. Eisen stört, kann aber in Mengen 100 mg durch Hydrazinhydrochlorid ausgeschaltet werden. Ca stört nicht bis zu einem Verhältnis Al:Ca = 12.

Bifunctional titrations of metal ions with complexing agents vs. glass electrodePart II. Sodium fluoride

Summary Titrations of Al with NaF standard solutions can be indicated with the glass electrode. Determinations in brass and steel are described and a general procedure is given. The relative standard deviation is between ± 0.2 and ±1.7%. Iron interferes, but can be eliminated in amounts 100 mg by addition of hydrazine hydrochloride. Ca does not interfere up to a ratio of Al : Ca = 12.

Aufschlu?verfahren zur Analyse der Alkylphenolkomponente in Alkylphenolpolyglykol?thern

Zusammenfassung Um die Polyglykolkette in oxalkylierten Alkylphenolen abzuspalten, werden diese in schmelzendem Kaliumhydroxid aufgeschlossen. Der Aufschluß entfernt die Polyglykolkette quantitativ, ohne die Alkylkette der Alkylphenole zu verändern. Die Alkylphenole werden isoliert und können nun mit den üblichen chromatographischen Methoden aufgetrennt werden. Ihre Strukturen lassen sich mit Hilfe von IR-, UV- und NMR-Spektren aufklären. Die Diskussion über die Spektren von Umsetzungsprodukten aus Butylphenol und Äthylenoxid sowie Propylenoxid belegt die Notwendigkeit einer solchen Abbaumethode.Herrn Prof. Dr. Werner Schultheis zum 70.
