We have constructed a polarized proton solid target system for
radioactive nuclear beam experiments at the Center for Nuclear Study,
the University of Tokyo. The proton polarization is based on an electron
population difference in a photo-excited triplet state of pentacene
molecule. The target system was completed in 2003 and applied to a
RI beam experiment in 2003 and 2005 by using the projectile fragment
separator, RIPS at RIKEN. The maximum polarization reached
20% under the condition of T=100 K and B=0.09 T.
Overview of the polarized target and its application in physics

Studies of temperature dependences of ac magnetization were carried out for a superconducting lead-porous glass nanocomposite. Double peaks were found on the imaginary part of ac magnetization which were accompanied with double steps on the real part. The lower-temperature anomalies in ac magnetization differed noticeably when they were obtained upon cooling and warming. The double peaks were treated as two phase transitions in the vortex system: the liquid-solid transition which occurs close to the onset of superconductivity and solid-solid one which is triggered by superconductivity in confined lead islands. 相似文献

The propagation of an external transverse magnetic signal acting locally on a 1d chain of spins generates a disturbance which runs through the system. This quantum effect can be interpreted as a classical travelling wave which contains a superposition of a large set of frequencies depending on the size of the chain. Its local amplitude fixes the size of the z-component of the spins at any location in the chain. The average and maximum value of the group velocity are determined and compared with the transmission velocity fixed by the Lieb-Robinson upper bound inequality. 相似文献

通过热极化可以使中心对称的熔石英光纤中产生二阶非线性效应和线性电光效应。为了解各热极化过程参量对热极化产生的线性电光效应的影响,利用全保偏光纤马赫一曾德尔干涉仪构造了一套光纤热极化的实时线性电光效应测试系统,并利用其进行了光纤热极化全过程的监控测试。在线测试了热极化过程的一些参量,例如极化电压、极化时间、以及极化温度等对热极化光纤中产生的线性电光效应的影响。实时测试研究表明,在光纤中施加尽可能高的极化电场将可能在光纤中产生较高的线性电光效应。对侧边抛磨光纤结构的热极化器件,考虑到器件的抗强电场击穿能力,可选用3.o~4.0kV左右的极化直流电压。当施加3.0kV左右的极化电压时,热极化优化时间约为16min,最佳热极化加热温度约为190℃。 相似文献

2 MeV protons and 1 MeV carbon ions are bombarded on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) samples and their electronic transport measurements are carried out in the presence of magnetic field. The Magneto-Resistance (MR) measurements show measurable hysteresis in the resistance value after ion beam irradiation for the in-plane magnetic field direction as well as for the out-of-plane field direction. The MR depends on the thickness of the flake and the method of its separation from the bulk HOPG. The results substantiate that the ferromagnetic coupling between the magnetic moments at the vacancy defect sites in HOPG sensitively depends on the average defect separation. The average defect separation range of 1.7–0.5 nm allows only a part of the 40 μm thick proton beam irradiated sample to go for ferromagnetic ordering. Similar conclusions are drawn from carbon ion irradiated HOPG flake. The irradiation increases the resistance of the flake as well. 相似文献

We investigate the role of the colored noise in two
biological systems: (i) adults of Nezara viridula (L.)
(Heteroptera: Pentatomidae), and (ii) polymer translocation. In the
first system we analyze, by directionality tests, the response of
N. viridula individuals to subthreshold signals plus noise
in their mating behaviour. The percentage of insects that react to
the subthreshold signal shows a nonmonotonic behaviour,
characterized by the presence of a maximum, as a function of the
noise intensity. This is the signature of the non-dynamical
stochastic resonance phenomenon. By using a “soft” threshold model
we find that the maximum of the input-output cross correlation
occurs in the same range of noise intensity values for which the
behavioural activation of the insects has a maximum. Moreover this
maximum value is lowered and shifted towards higher noise
intensities, compared to the case of white noise. In the second
biological system the noise driven translocation of short polymers
in crowded solutions is analyzed. An improved version of the Rouse
model for a flexible polymer is adopted to mimic the molecular
dynamics by taking into account both the interactions between
adjacent monomers and the effects of a Lennard-Jones potential
between all beads. The polymer dynamics is simulated in a
two-dimensional domain by numerically solving the Langevin equations
of motion in the presence of thermal fluctuations and a colored
noise source. At low temperatures or for strong colored noise
intensities the translocation process of the polymer chain is
delayed. At low noise intensity, as the polymer length increases, we
find a nonmonotonic behaviour for the mean first translocation time
of the polymer centre of inertia. We show how colored noise
influences the motion of short polymers, by inducing two different
regimes of translocation in the dynamics of molecule transport. 相似文献

The interaction between the evolution of the game and the underlying network structure with evolving snowdrift game model
is investigated. The constructed network follows a power-law degree distribution typically showing scale-free feature. The
topological features of average path length, clustering coefficient, degree-degree correlations and the dynamical feature
of synchronizability are studied. The synchronizability of the constructed networks changes by the interaction. It will converge
to a certain value when sufficient new nodes are added. It is found
that initial payoffs of nodes greatly affect the synchronizability. When initial payoffs for players are equal, low common
initial payoffs may lead to more heterogeneity of the network and good
synchronizability. When initial payoffs follow certain distributions, better synchronizability is obtained compared to equal
initial payoff. The result is also true for phase synchronization of nonidentical oscillators. 相似文献

We propose a method of calculation of Casimir pressure using the Green function for one-dimensional case. This method yields the renormalized pressure if an external field is absent, otherwise it permits us to calculate the dependence of pressure at one boundary on the other boundary’s coordinate. We employ the inverse Boltzmann method to coarse-grain three commonly used three-site water models (TIP3P, SPC and SPC/E)
where one molecule is replaced with one coarse-grained particle with isotropic two-body interactions only. The shape of the
coarse-grained potentials is dominated by the ratio of two lengths, which can be rationalized by the geometric constraints
of the water clusters. It is shown that for simple two-body potentials either the radial distribution function or the geometrical
packing can be optimized. In a similar way, as needed for multiscale methods, either the pressure or the compressibility can
be fitted to the all atom liquid. In total, a speed-up by a factor of about 50 in computational time can be reached by this
