Two series of new poly(amide imide)s having (n‐alkyoxy)phenyloxy side branches with various lengths, poly{p‐phenyleneiminoterephthaloylimino‐p‐phenylene[3,6‐di(n‐alkyloxy)phenyloxy]pyromellitimide}s ( PC m TA s, m = 4, 8, 12) and poly{p‐phenyleneiminosebacoylimino‐p‐phenylene[3,6‐di(n‐alkyloxy)‐phenyloxy]‐ pyromellitimide}s ( PC m SeA s, m = 4, 8, 12), were prepared by condensation of terephthalamide‐N,N′‐4,4′‐dianiline ( TA ) and sebacamide‐N,N′‐4,4′‐dianiline ( SeA ) with 3,6‐di[4‐(n‐alkyloxy)phenyloxy]pyromellitic dianhydrides , respectively. The inherent viscosities of the polymers were in the 0.82–1.20 dL/g range. The polymers were highly soluble in N‐methylpyrolidinone (NMP), even at room temperature and soluble in other polar aprotic solvents on heating. The PC m TA s, which have aromatic backbones, were thermally more stable (431–442 °C) than the PC m SeA s, which have an octamethylene unit in the main chain (407–409 °C). Degradation of weight up to 900 °C corresponded with the loss of side chain contents. The PC m TA s exhibited no phase transition, whereas two endothermic peaks were observed for each of the PC m SeA s. Wide‐angle X‐ray diffractometer investigations revealed that both polymers are amorphous and the n‐alkyloxy side chains are present in a layered structure. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A series of new soluble poly(amide‐imide)s were prepared from the diimide‐dicarboxylic acid 2,2‐bis[4‐(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)phenyl]hexafluoropropane with various diamines by direct polycondensation in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone containing CaCl2 with triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. All the polymers were obtained in quantitative yields with inherent viscosities of 0.52–0.86 dL · g?1. The poly(amide‐imide)s showed an amorphous nature and were readily soluble in various solvents, such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc), N,N‐dimethylformamide, pyridine, and cyclohexanone. Tough and flexible films were obtained through casting from DMAc solutions. These polymer films had tensile strengths of 71–107 MPa and a tensile modulus range of 1.6–2.7 GPa. The glass‐transition temperatures of the polymers were determined by a differential scanning calorimetry method, and they ranged from 242 to 279 °C. These polymers were fairly stable up to a temperature around or above 400 °C, and they lost 10% of their weight from 480 to 536 °C and 486 to 537 °C in nitrogen and air, respectively. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Donor molecules undergo dramatic changes in their chemical properties on coordination to a transition-metal atom. Highly reactive species can be trapped and studied as ligands. Conversely, stable compounds can be activated to undergo novel reactions. Sulfur dioxide complexes have generally been studied from a structural viewpoint, their reactivity having been somewhat neglected. The unstable sulfur oxides SO, S2O, and S2O2 are still often regarded as laboratory curiosities. The relative stabilities of the metal derivatives of hydrazo pyrazolone dyes containingortho -OCH3, -COOH, and -NO2 groups have been measured potentiometrically in 75% (v/v) dioxane—water mixture at 30 °C and <0.1 ionic strength. The stability constant of their 1:1 and 1:2 chelates with twelve trivalent lanthanide ionsLn(III) have also been determined. The effects of substituents on the hydrazo-moiety of the ligand on the equilibria are discussed. The affinity of different ligands for complexation with lanthanide ions reaches its highest value withortho-carboxyphenylhydrazopyrazolone. The data were correlated and the results were used to explain the stabilization of such chelates by dative -bonding betweenLn(III) and the ligand.

Zusammenfassung Es wurden die relativen Stabilitäten der Metallderivate von Hydrazopyrazolon-Farbstoffen mitortho-OMe, -COOH und -NO2 potentiometrisch in 75% (v/v) Dioxan—Wasser bei 30 °C und einer Ionenstärke <0.1 bestimmt. Die Stabilitätskonstanten der 1:1 und 1:2 Chelate mit zwölf trivalenten LanthanidenionenLn(III) wurden ebenfalls gemessen. Die Substituenteneffekte werden diskutiert. Dabei zeigeno-Carboxyphenylhydrazopyrazolone die höchste Affinität zu Lanthanidenionen. The controlled synthesis and structure determination of a bimetallic nanocluster Au57Ag53(C≡CPh)40Br12 (Au57Ag53) is presented. The metal core has a four‐shell Au2M3@Au34@Ag51 @Au20 (M=1/3 Au+2/3 Ag) architecture. In contrast to the previously reported large nanoclusters that have highly symmetric kernel structures, the metal atoms in Au57Ag53 are arranged in an irregular manner with C1 symmetry. This cluster exhibits excellent thermal stability and is robust under oxidative or basic conditions. The silver precursors play a key role in dictating the structures of the nanoclusters, which suggests the importance of the counteranions used. 相似文献

Described in this report is a general method for the conversion of prochiral 3-substituted cyclobutanones to enantioenriched γ-lactones through a palladium-catalyzed Baeyer-Villiger oxidation using phosphinooxazoline ligands in up to 99% yield and 81% ee. Lactones of enantiopurity ≥93% could be obtained through a single recrystallization step.
