Selectivity optimization for the capillary gas chromatographic analysis of bacterial cellular fatty acids

Summary The importance of selectivity in the capillary gas chromatographic analysis of the cellular fatty acids of micro-organisms is underestimated. The analysis on apolar silicone phases can lead to erratic elucidation of the fatty acid structure. Qualitative errors have been detected in commercially available standards on which computer matching identification techniques are based. Using highly polar capillary columns of the cyanopropyl silicone type, the errors could be elucidated. The exact identification of the hydrolysis products of bacteria is a must for chemotaxonomic studies applying chromatographic techniques. The fatty acid methyl ester profiles can also contain other chemical components which are very important taxonomic markers. Fatty aldehydes, for example, are main components in someClostridium species. Fractionation techniques are described for selective enrichment of fatty aldehydes and hydroxy fatty acids.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. A Liberti on the occasion of his 70th birthday     

Environmentally benign process for the synthesis of N-formyl amino acid esters

Several amino acid ester hydrochlorides were reacted with ammonium formate to give N-formyl amino acid esters in good yields.

合成了新显色剂 1 - ( 2 -羟基 - 5 -硝基苯基 ) -重氮氨基偶氮苯 ( HNPDAAB) ,研究了该试剂与镍的显色反应条件。在 Triton X- 1 0 0存在下 ,镍与试剂生成 1∶ 1型深红色配合物 ,其表观摩尔吸光系数达 1 .5 8× 1 0 5L· mol- 1· cm- 1。 Ni2 + 的浓度在 0～9μg/2 5 m L范围内符合比耳定律。方法已应用于合金中微量镍的测定 ,结果满意     

Structural Studies of Bis(cyclopentadienyl)molybdenum‐Amino Acid Complexes

The crystal structures of molybdocene‐amino acid compounds of the type [Cp₂Mo^IV(κN, κO‐AA)]⁺Cl^—·xH₂O with AA = D ‐phenylalaninato (x = 1.5), DL ‐leucinato (x = 2) and DL ‐valinato (x = 1) have been determined (Cp = η⁵‐C₅H₅). The compounds feature an almost planar, five‐membered chelate ring of the aminocarboxylate moiety (deprotonated amino acid) with the molybdenum atom. In the phenylalaninato complex π‐stacking between the phenyl rings is found. The complexes were proven kinetically stable at pH < 1 for at least 24 h.     

Volumetric Properties of Aqueous 2-Chloroethanol Solutions and Volumes of Transfer of Some Amino Acids and Peptides from Water to Aqueous 2-Chloroethanol Solutions

Densities and apparent molar volumes of aqueous 2-chloroethanol were determined at temperatures from 15.0 to 34.4°C using digital densimetry. The results of the volumetric measurements have been used to calculate the following thermodynamic quantites at 25°C: V ₂ ^o = 55.05 ± 0.02 cm³-mol^–1, (V ₂ ^o/T)_p = 0.01486 ± 0.00318 cm³-K^–1-mol^–1, and (² V ₂ ^o/T ²)_p = 0.02972 ± 0.00318 cm³-K^–2-mol^–1. Partial molar volumes of transfer from water to 1 mol-dm^–3 2-chloroethanol have also been determined for L-glycine, L-alanine, L-serine, L-glutamic acid, and L-aspartic acid at 35.0°C. The transfer results have been explained in terms of the nature of the interactions of the groups in the solute and solvent. Hydration numbers of L-glycine and L-alanine have also been calculated in aqueous 2-chloroethanol.     

Characterisation of Tokaj wines based on free amino acids and biogenic amines using ion-exchange chromatography

Summary Tokaj wines (Szamorodni and Aszu wines) of Hungarian origin were investigated on the basis of free amino acids and biogenic amines. The separation and determination of these compounds was performed by an amino acid analyser equipped with an ion-exchange resin column. The total amount of free amino acids and biogenic amines was higher in Aszu wines than in Szamorodni wines. The main amino acids were proline and arginine, while the major biogenic amines were tyramine and putrescine. The free amino acid and biogenic amine content of Aszu wines depended on the vineyards the wines originated from. 胆固醇和胆汁酸是广泛存在于自然界中的天然物质 ,生物相容性好 ,被广泛地用于高分子的疏水性改性 ,得到的双亲性聚合物 ,在水相中可以自组装或自聚集成纳米粒子。本文综述了含胆固醇或胆汁酸的双亲性聚合物的最新研究进展以及它们在药物载体系统中的应用。     

A new oligosaccharide synthesis using special hydroxy protecting group

A new hydroxy protecting group for convenient preparation of oligosaccharide was developed using uni-chemo protection (UCP) concept. The UCP group was comprised of polymerized amino acid derivatives and protecting each hydroxyl groups by ester linkage. Depending on the polymerization degree, the hydroxyl groups were characterized and controlled. Using this protecting group, two kinds of sialyl-T analogues were successfully synthesized from same sugar parts merely by repeating Edman degradation and coupling.     

Three-component catalytic method for synthesis of α-amino phosphonates with the use of α-amino acids as amine component

Interaction of aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes and ketones with optically active L-α-amino acids or their esters in the three-component catalytic one-pot synthesis of α-aminophosphonates was studied. The corresponding α-amino phosphonates are formed in high yields as mixtures of diastereomers. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. The modulation of face-face π-π interactions in Lewis acid catalysis

The enantiomeric excess observed for the exo-adduct from the Lewis acid catalysed Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and methacrolein can be increased up to 21% by simple modification of the electronics of the aromatic ring in a series of stilbene-derived diol ligands, suggesting that the proposed face-face π-π interaction between the catalyst and the dienophile can be modulated by altering the electron density on the aromatic ring.
