Adsorption of anions to zirconium(IV) and titanium(IV) chemically immobilized on gel-phase 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Adsorption behaviors of 25 anions to zirconium(IV) and titanium(IV) chemically immobilized on a gel-phase were studied by ion chromatography and by batch adsorption experiments. The affinities of Zr(IV) to iminodiacetate as an anchoring group and to anions as a sample are much stronger than those of Ti(IV). On a Zr(IV) column, fourteen anions showed no retention, four anions showed pH-dependent retention in a low pH region, and seven anions were irreversibly adsorbed at pH <7. In the last group, fluoride was adsorbed both by the ligand exchange mechanism and the addition mechanism, while phosphate, arsenate and selenite were only by the ligand exchange mechanism. We demonstrate that the selectivity of microchip electrophoresis separations is greatly improved by the presence of organically modified silica (Ormosil) sols in the run buffer. A negatively-charged N-(trimethoxysilylpropyl)ethylenediamine triacetic-acid (TETT)-based sol is used for improving the selectivity between nitroaromatic explosives and a methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMOS)-based sol is employed for enhancing the microchip separation of environmental pollutants, aminophenols. These sols are added to the run buffer and act as pseudostationary phases. Their presence in the run buffer changes the apparent mobility of studied solutes, and leads to a higher resolution. The observed mobilities changes reflect the interactions between the Ormosil sols and the solutes. Relevant experimental variables have been characterized and optimized. The diverse chemistry of Ormosil sols should be extremely useful for tailoring the selectivity of a wide range of electrophoresis microchip separations. 相似文献

Summary A simple, reproducible method for the biological synthesis of tritiated 24,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol, 25,26-dihydroxycholecalciferol and 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol is described. Kidney homogenates from both vitamin D deficient and replete chicks were usedin vitro to generate these dihydroxylated metabolites using 25 (23,24-3H) hydroxycholecalciferol as the substrate. The use of a low-temperature (0 degrees C) bath-assisted coupled capillary for the separation of naphthalene-2,3-dicarboxaldehyde (NDA)-derivatized dopamine and norepinephrine using the sweeping-micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography (MEKC) mode is described. In this technique, a capillary consisting of two portions with different inside diameters is used. Therefore, the field strength inside the capillary is different. Hence, the electrophoretic migration velocities of the analytes and the electro-osmotic flow (EOF) also are different. Furthermore, when a portion of the capillary (wide portion, used for sweeping) is immersed in a low-temperature bath, the viscosity of the buffer and the retention factor of the analytes inside are increased. Thus, not only are the interactions between the SDS micelles and the analytes increased, but the SDS-analytes also move more slowly. As a result, a more complete separation can be achieved, even when the sample injection volume is large, up to approximately 2 microL. In general, when the volume of an injected sample is larger, the effects of sweeping and separation would become insufficient, especially when the retention values (k) of the analytes are quite different. Summary The effect of silanol groups on three types of octadecylmodified column gels using heat-treated silicas by calcination has been studied by high-performance liquid chromatography. After heat-treating at 180°C, 500°C and 950°C, the silicas treated with octadecyldimethylchlorosilane were used for the measurement of physical and chemical analysis. From elemental carbon analysis data, the reactive silanol group concentrations, OH(s), were determined to be 2.0 in the 180°C treated silica, 2.1 in the 500°C treated silica and 1.6 in the 950°C treated silica, respectively (original silica: mean pore diameter 116 Å, specific surface area 298 m2/g, pore volume 1.22 ml/g, particle size 5.0 m). The separation factors, , of pyridine versus phenol were measured to be 0.79 on 180°C treated silica, 0.91 on 500°C treated silica and 1.98 on 950°C treated silica, using acetonitrile-water mixtures as the eluent. And then, on the basis of the physico-chemical and chromatographic data, the three types of octadecyl modified column gels using heat-treated silicas by calcination have been compared. 相似文献

The combination of hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography with electrospray mass spectrometry (HILIC-MS) has been investigated as a tool for the analysis of assorted toxins produced by cyanobacteria. Toxins examined included saxitoxin and its various analogues (1-18), anatoxin-a (ATX-a, 19), cylindrospermopsin (CYN, 20), deoxycylindrospermopsin (doCYN, 21), and microcystins-LR (22) and -RR (23). The saxitoxins could be unequivocally detected in one isocratic analysis using a TSK gel Amide-80 column eluted with 65% B, where eluent A is water and B is a 95% acetonitrile/water solution, both containing 2.0 mM ammonium formate and 3.6 mM formic acid. The analysis of ATX-a, CYN and doCYN required 75% B isocratic. Simultaneous determination of 1-21 was also possible by using gradient elution. HILIC proved to be suitable for the analysis of microcystins, but peak shape was not symmetric and it was concluded that these compounds are best analysed using existing reversed-phase methods. The HILIC-MS method was applied to the analysis of field and cultured samples of Anabaena circinalis and Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii. Three different types of SCD combustion source have been evaluated for use in the chromatographic analysis of atmospheric sulfur compounds. The conventional FID source and the newer inverted burner source were found to be less sensitive and less stable than the flameless design.
