The photo-induced hydrophilicity of TiO2 films deposited on stainless steel substrates and silicon wafers using two different sol-gel routes has been investigated. The results indicate that crystalline titanium oxide films with excellent hydrophilic properties can be obtained on silicon wafer with both routes. XPS and XRD data reveal that films deposited on stainless steel exhibit crystallization features similar to those of films deposited on silicon wafers, and only differ by their oxidation degree owing to a TiO2 reduction process associated to a diffusion of iron ions during deposition of the acidic sol and/or high temperature post-treatment. Consequently, hydrophilic properties of films deposited on stainless steel are inhibited. The deposition of a SiOx barrier layer at the film/substrate interface allows preventing such a detrimental substrate influence. A low temperature deposition route of the TiO2 film associated to the presence of a barrier layer yields best results in preventing iron contamination of the films. 相似文献

Double-layer characteristics of a liquid bismuth–gallium electrode are studied in aqueous electrolyte solutions. Based on the results obtained it is shown that Bi in an alloy with Ga is a surface-active component and forced out to the electrode surface layer. For electrode charges q –5 C/cm2, the double layer characteristics of Bi–Ga electrodes approach those of a bismuth electrode. Thus, with respect to its electrochemical properties, a Bi–Ga electrode containing 0.25 at. % Bi simulates a liquid bismuth electrode. The corrected electrochemical work function is determined for bismuth. The close values of the difference of zero-charge potentials on mercury and bismuth in water and the difference of corrected electrochemical work functions for these metals points to the very low hydrophilicity of the Bi–Ga electrode, which approaches the value for mercury at negative electrode potentials. Taking into account that the Bi–Ga electrode displays no semimetallic properties, the similarity of the electric double layer (EDL) parameters for the Bi–Ga alloy and solid pure Bi indicates that the semimetallic properties of bismuth make no contribution to the EDL characteristics of the alloy in the studied range of negative charges q –5 C/cm2. 相似文献

利用改进的溶胶-凝胶法在经表面改性的PET(聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯)表面制备得到TiO2薄膜. 利用X射线衍射(XRD)、原子力显微镜(AFM)、UV-Vis 透光率曲线、接触角测试仪等测试手段对TiO2样品的性能进行表征.结果表明, PET表面过渡层的引入有效地改善了有机基底与无机薄膜之间的界面相容性, 在其表面形成透明、均一、附着力良好且具有光催化活性的TiO2薄膜.通过控制实验过程, 在低温下成功制备了不同锐钛矿/板钛矿比的TiO2薄膜,同时发现适量板钛矿相的存在能有效提高薄膜的光致亲水性. 相似文献

Hydrophobic polysulfone UF membranes were modified with UV irradiation and hydrophilicity increasing agents. The modifications were tested with 0.5% whey-protein solution and 0.05% lysozyme solution at pH 6 and with 0.05% bovine serum albumin solution at various pH values. UV irradiation increased flux and the hydrophilicity of the membranes. The flux increases obtained varied with pH and modification agents used and could be more than 400% compared to unmodified conditions without any loss in retention. The best retentions were obtained at pH values, where both the protein and the membrane had the same charge, and a strong electrostatic repulsion was obtained. The pores enlarged to fixed sizes, which depended on the sizes of the proteins and the range of double layer forces between proteins and membranes at different states of charge density. 相似文献

The ice/water interface is a common and important part of many biological, environmental, and technological systems. In contrast to its importance, the system has not been extensively studied and is not well understood. Therefore, in this paper the properties of the H2O ice/water and D2O ice/water interfaces were investigated. Although the zeta potential vs pH data points were significantly scattered, it was determined that the isoelectric point (iep) of D2O ice particles in water at 3.5°C containing 10−3 M NaCl occurs at about pH 3.0. The negative values of the zeta potential, calculated from the electrophoretic mobility, seem to decrease with decreasing content of NaCl, while the iep shifts to a higher pH. The point of zero charge (pzc) of D2O ice and H2O ice, determined by changes in pH of 10−4 M NaCl aqueous solution at 0.5°C after the ice particle addition, was found to be very different from the iep and equal to pH 7.0 ± 0.5. The shift of the iep with NaCl concentration and the difference in the positions of the iep and pzc on the pH scale point to complex specific adsorption of ions at the interface. Interestingly, similar values of iep and pzc were found for very different systems, such as hydrophilic ice and highly hydrophobic hexadecane droplets in water. A comparison of the zeta potential vs pH curves for hydrophilic ice and hydrophobic materials that do not possess dissociative functional groups at the interface (diamond, air bubbles, bacteria, and hexadecane) indicated that all of them have an iep near pH 3.5. These results indicate that the zeta potential and surface charge data alone cannot be used to delineate the electrochemical properties of a given water/moiety interface because similar electrical properties do not necessary mean a similar structure of the interfacial region. A good example is the aliphatic hydrocarbon/water interface in comparison to the ice/water interface. Although the experiments were carried out with care, both the zeta potential, measured with a precise ZetaPlus meter, and ΔpH values (a measure of surface charge) vs pH were significantly scattered, and the origin of dissemination of the data points was not established. Differently charged ice particles and not fully equilibrium conditions at the ice/water interface may have been responsible for the dissemination of the data. 相似文献

Amphiphilic hyperbranched polyester (P2) consisting of a hydrophobic core, surrounded by aromatic carboxylic acids, is self-assembled into aggregates in aqueous solution at pH region of 3.8–4.7 and in THF–water mixed solution at THF/water volume ratio of 1/100–1/10. With P2 in both aqueous and THF–water mixed solution as polyanion and linear poly(diallydimethylammonium chloride) (PDAC) as polycation, self-assembled films were successfully formed by layer-by-layer dipping. The solution condition of P2, including the pH of aqueous solution and the THF/water volume ratio, affected not only the absorption behavior of P2 but also the surface morphology and hydrophilicity of the films with P2 as the outmost layer. At lower pH or higher THF/water volume ratio the aggregation of P2 in solution was enhanced, thus resulting in higher adsorption rate for P2, more rough and less hydrophilic surface for the films. 相似文献

制备了末端为双键的功能化聚乳酸大分子单体(PLA-HEMA),并以此大分子单体与N-乙烯基吡咯烷酮(NVP)进行自由基溶液共聚,合成了具有亲水性PVP-PHEMA主链和疏水性PLA支链的接枝共聚物。用FT-IR1、H-NMR、GPC、DSC、表面接触角测定研究了共聚物的结构与性能。结果表明:共聚物为非晶聚合物;NVP的摩尔投料量对共聚物的性能有显著影响,随NVP投料量增大,共聚物的分子量有所下降,玻璃化转变温度(Tg)增大;由于亲水性PVP和PHEMA链段的引入,共聚物的亲水性优于相应的线型聚乳酸材料。 相似文献

N,N-dimethylacrylamide (DMAA) was graft copolymerized on poly[(trimethylsilyl)propyne] (PTMSP) by single electron reduction of PTMSP with potassium naphthalenide (K-Naph), followed by anion polymerization of DMAA from the carbanion formed in the reduction. A hard and practically non-water-swelling PTMSP-gr-poly(DMAA) was obtained under the conditions using controlled amount of K-Naph and DMAA. The graft copolymer was characterized with regard to structure, number-averaged molecular weight, and the amount of grafting poly(DMAA) determined by the relative absorbance of the IR absorption band assigned to the CO and SiC H functionalities (ACO/ASiC H). The oxygen permeability and water contact angle (θ) of the graft copolymer were evaluated while varying the amount of grafting poly(DMAA). The graft copolymer proved to be highly oxygen permeable (165 Barrers) and hydrophilic (θ = 27°). Its transparency was also elucidated with UV–vis spectra. A cold plasma feed with either oxygen or nitrogen was used to modify thin Low Density Polyethylene films. The treatment improved both the surface wettability and the curing kinetic of a polyurethane based adhesive spread on the surface. The chemical functionalities responsible of the observed behaviours were investigated and monitored over time by high resolution x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Atomic force microscopy were used to compare the effects of the two feeding gases on the surface morphology of films exposed (to the plasma) for equal times.
