In our previous numerical studies [Nishioka Makihito, Zhenyu Shen, and Akane Uemichi. “Ultra-lean combustion through the backflow of burned gas in rotating counterflow twin premixed flames.” Combustion and Flame 158.11 (2011): 2188–2198. Uemichi Akane, and Makihito Nishioka. “Numerical study on ultra-lean rotating counterflow twin premixed flame of hydrogen–air.” Proceedings of the Combustion Institute 34.1 (2013): 1135–1142]. we found that methane– and hydrogen–air rotating counterflow twin flames (RCTF) can achieve ultralean combustion when backward flow of burned gas occurs due to the centrifugal force created by rotation. In this study, we investigated the mechanisms of ultralean combustion in these flames by the detailed numerical analyses of the convective and diffusive transport of the main species. We found that, under ultralean conditions, the diffusive transport of fuel exceeds its backward convective transport in the flame zone, which is located on the burned-gas side of the stagnation point. In contrast, the relative magnitudes of diffusive and convective transport for oxygen are reversed compared to those for the fuel. The resulting flows for fuel and oxygen lead to what we call a ‘net flux imbalance’. This net flux imbalance increases the flame temperature and concentrations of active radicals. For hydrogen–air RCTF, a very large diffusivity of hydrogen enhances the net flux imbalance, significantly increasing the flame temperature. The migration of a downsized crescent-shaped dune was investigated in a wind tunnel experiment.Quantified upwind influx and vertical oscillation of the sand bed were introduced to modulate the saturation level of the sand flux above the dune surface to affect dune evolution.The evolution was recorded by top-view photography and then abstracted as the evolution of self-defined characteristic quantities using a digital image processing algorithm.The results showed that,in contrast to the case for spanwise quantities,the evolution of streamwise quantities corresponds to a linear increase in the modulation magnitude more positively and in a monotonic and convergent manner.In contrast with quantities on the windward face,the changes in quantities with respect to the horns were nonmonotonic with time and almost uncorrelated with the variation in modulation strength,which reveals the distinctiveness of leeside evolution. 相似文献

To investigate the existence of a splay effect in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (Bi-2212), vortex pinning has been studied in different configurations of strongly inclined columnar defects (75 from the c axis), installed by heavy-ion irradiation. It is shown that the symmetry of the track setting with respect to the field direction
is a more influent parameter than the presence of a dispersion in the track directions. We claim that the enhanced pinning
efficiency which is observed in some splayed configurations of columnar defects in Bi-2212 can be interpreted without invoking
a splay effect.

This study presents a two-dimensional phononic crystal with heat flux manipulation and wide bandgaps of out-of-plane modes within the low-frequency range. The anisotropic matrix made of spiral-multilayered materials with different thermal conductivities, and the coating layer inserted with metal are designed for heat flux manipulation. Rubber-coated metal cylinders are periodically embedded in the anisotropic matrix to obtain the low-frequency bandgaps of out-of-plane modes. Numerical simulation is carried out to validate the heat and elastic characteristics of the spiral-multilayered anisotropic structure and reveal the effects of the laying angle and temperature on the bandgaps. Subsequently, a spiral-multilayered plate with periodic structures is studied, which shows an obvious vibration attenuation in the frequency ranges of the bandgaps and a deflected heat flux from the initial propagation direction. In the experimental investigation, the multi-phase spiral-multilayered anisotropic plate is simplified to a single-phase anisotropic plate made of aluminum. The characteristics of this type of anisotropic phononic crystal structure may pave the way for the design of a new kind of thermo-acoustic metamaterial serving in combined thermal and acoustic environments. 相似文献

Optical properties in a two-dimensional quantum ring: Confinement potential and Aharonov-Bohm effect
Optical properties of a two-dimensional quantum ring with pseudopotential in the presence of an external magnetic field and magnetic flux have been theoretically investigated. Our results show that both of the pseudopotential and magnetic field can affect the third non-linear susceptibility and oscillator strength. In addition, we found that the oscillator strength and the absolute value of the resonant peak of the linear, non-linear and total absorption coefficient demonstrates the Aharonov-Bohm oscillation with magnetic flux, moreover, changes in confinement potential can influence the Aharonov-Bohm oscillation in peak while the resonant peak value of the linear, non-linear and total refractive index changes decreases as magnetic flux increases. 相似文献

A fast method is presented for gaining 3D actinic flux density fields, Fact, in clouds employing the Independent Pixel Approximation (IPA) with a parameterized horizontal photon transport to imitate radiative smoothing effects. For 3D clouds the IPA is an efficient method to simulate radiative transfer, but it suffers from the neglect of horizontal photon fluxes leading to significant errors (up to locally 30% in the present study). Consequently, the resulting actinic flux density fields exhibit an unrealistically rough and rugged structure.
