The possibility of continuous conjugation of the straightline radial motion of a gas sphere toward the center and away from the center with the motion where the gas in the entire sphere stops simultaneously is shown. The motion is described by an invariant submodel of rank 1. Time reflections allow one to construct a solution that describes a periodic continuous restricted motion of the gas sphere under the action of a piston.  相似文献

A nonlinear problem of motion of a solid sphere near a free surface of an infinitely deep fluid is considered. For the case of motion with a constant acceleration starting from rest, the solution is studied using a smalltime expansion. Expansion coefficients up to the fourth power inclusive are found for the free surface elevation and for the force acting on the sphere. The solutions for linear and nonlinear conditions on the free surface are compared.  相似文献

Using the multipoles method, we formulate the problems of radiation (both heave and sway) of water waves by a submerged sphere in deep as well as in uniform finite depth water with an ice-cover, with the ice-cover being modelled as an elastic plate of very small thickness. In each case this leads to an infinite system of linear equations which are solved numerically by standard techniques. The added-mass and damping coefficients for a heaving and swaying sphere are obtained and depicted graphically against the wave number for various values of the radius of the submerged sphere and flexural rigidity of the ice-cover to show the effect of the presence of ice-cover on these quantities. When the flexural rigidity is taken to be zero, the numerical results for the added-mass and damping coefficient for water with a free surface are recovered.  相似文献

In the slow flows of a strongly and nonuniformly heated gas, in the continuum regime (Kn → 0) thermal stresses may be present. The theory of slow nonisothermal continuum gas flows with account for thermal stresses was developed in 1969–1974. The action of the thermal stresses on the gas results in certain paradoxical effects, including the reversal of the direction of the force exerted on a spherical particle in Stokes flow. The propulsion force effect is manifested at large but finite temperature differences between the particle and the gas. This study is devoted to the thermal-stress effect on the drag of a strongly heated spherical particle traveling slowly in a gas for small Knudsen numbers (M ~ Kn → 0), small but finite Reynolds numbers (Re ≤ 1), a linear temperature dependence of the transport coefficients µ ∝ T, and large but finite temperature differences ((T w ? T )/T M8 ~ 1). Two different systems of equations are solved numerically: the simplified Navier-Stokes equations and the modified Navier-Stokes equations with account for the thermal stresses.  相似文献

In this paper, the off-axial acoustic scattering of a high-order Bessel vortex beam by a rigid immovable (fixed) sphere is investigated. It is shown here that shifting the sphere off the axis of wave propagation induces a dependence of the scattering on the azimuthal angle. Theoretical expressions for the incident and scattered field from a rigid immovable sphere are derived. The near- and far-field acoustic scattering fields are expressed using partial wave series involving the spherical harmonics, the scattering coefficients of the sphere, the half-conical angle of the wave number components of the beam, its order and the beam-shape coefficients. The scattering coefficients of the sphere and the 3D scattering directivity plots in the near- and far-field regions are evaluated using a numerical integration procedure. The calculations indicate that the scattering directivity patterns near the sphere and in the far-field are strongly dependent upon the position of the sphere facing the incident high-order Bessel vortex beam.  相似文献

All systems of interpenetrating sphere packings that occur with highest symmetry in the cubic, hexagonal or tetragonal crystal family are tabulated. Homogeneous sphere packings belonging to 49 different types may be intertwined to systems of interpenetrating sphere packings belonging to 74 types. For all compatible lattice complexes, the coordinate and lattice parameters are given. The corresponding patterns of interpenetration are analysed. For the interpenetration of two, three, four, five and eight sphere packings, eleven, three, five, one and two different patterns, respectively, are distinguished. In addition, four types of interpenetrating layers of spheres were found. Each such sphere configuration splits into two or three subsets of parallel sphere layers with an angle of 90° or of 120°, respectively, between the directions of the normals of the layers. A single sphere layer corresponds either to a honeycomb net or to a net built up from quadrangles and octagons.  相似文献
