An isocratic reversed-phase liquid chromatographic method has been developed for quantitative determination of candesartan
cilexetil, used to treat hypertension, in the bulk drug and in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The method is also applicable
to analysis of related substances. Chromatographic separation was achieved on a 250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm particle, CN column
with a 50:50 (v/v) mixture of phosphate buffer, pH 3.0, and acetonitrile as mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.0 mL min−1 and the detection wavelength was 210 nm. Resolution of candesartan cilexetil and six potential impurities was greater than
2.0 for all pairs of compounds. The drug was subjected to hydrolytic, oxidative, photolytic, and thermal stress and substantial
degradation occurred in alkaline and acidic media and under oxidative and hydrolytic stress conditions. The major product
obtained as a result of basic hydrolysis was different from that produced by acid hydrolysis and aqueous hydrolysis. The stress
samples were assayed against a reference standard and the mass balance was found to be close to 99.6%. The method was validated

A simple colorimetric procedure is described for determination of penicillin G salt and penicillamine. It is based on oxidation with potassium iodate at room temperature and measurement of the liberated iodine at 520 nm after extraction with carbon tetrachloride. Compared with other procedures, this method proved to be more rapid, highly reproducible and reasonably accurate. The relative standard deviation did not exceed 0.9% and 0.4% for penicillin and penicillamine, respectively. The procedure has been successfully applied to pharmaceutical preparations containing either of the two compounds. 相似文献

Abstract The paper deals with the influence of high pressure treatment of fresh egg white on its properties and protein composition (individual amino-acids predicted as a function of pressure and time levels). The rheological properties are changed by high pressure from Newtonian to non-Newtonian behaviour, with increasing apparent viscosity as the pressure and time increased. The pH, whipping ability, foam stability, gel strength of heat induced gels after treatment and the whole protein content, were also predicted. The results showed that the foam stability is increased with increasing pressure and time of processing. The foam volume is also increased with pressure. The pH did not change with pressure or time of processing. Composition of proteins as indicated by individual amino-acids did not exhibit statistically important changes. Gel strength of heat induced gels prepared from previously pressured liquid whites showed no important change of values with pressure or time of treatment. The modulus of elasticity showed a decrease for samples pressured to 400 MPa for 5 up to 15 minutes. 相似文献

For the first time, corrosion of a Pd anode was detected during electrolysis in a weakly alkaline aqueous solution of ethylenediamine. The kinetics and mechanism of the process were investigated by the methods of cyclic voltammetry and gravimetry. Scanning electron microscopy showed corrosion of the Pd anode and deposition of Pd on the cathode surface, while the formation of colloidal Pd in the working solution was identified by transmission electron microscopy. 相似文献

This paper deals with the thermal degradation and fire performance of silicone‐based coatings for protecting steel. In this study, the fire performance of silicone coatings as virgin or formulated materials is evaluated using two homemade fire testing methodologies: one similar to the “torch test” fire testing method and the other using a heat radiator test. It was shown that the performance of the silicone‐based coating used as thermal barrier can be improved incorporating a modifier (a mixture of polydimethylsiloxane and silica coated by a silane). In this case, silicone‐based coating swells and exhibits same fire performance as commercial intumescent coating at the torch test. It is shown that the incorporation of modifier in the silicone makes it to swell upon heating resulting in the formation of expanded material exhibiting low heat conductivity. Thermal degradation of the coating is also investigated: it occurs in three main steps leading to the formation of a tridimensional network characterized by the formation of Q4 structure at high temperature. The antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of petroleum ether and methanol extracts, fatty acids and methyl esters from leaves of Smilax brasiliensis were evaluated, and the composition of the extracts was determined. Palmitic, linoleic and linolenic acids were major components of the extracts. For antioxidant activity, all samples exhibited IC50 values lower than BHT (2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol). The extracts, fatty acids and methyl esters from S. brasiliensis presented no toxicity to larvae of the brine shrimp, Artemia salina. Among the purified substances, only methyl linolenate showed toxicity (LD50 = 21.47 μg/mL). This study showed, for the first time, the composition of petroleum ether and methanol extracts from S. brasiliensis leaves, as well as the antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of extracts, fatty acids and methyl esters. 相似文献

In this study, anticancer, antibacterial (against hospital-isolated antibiotic-resistant Escherichia coli strains), antifungal, and antioxidant effects of synthesized heterocyclic compounds 5 and 7 containing thiazole core were examined. Cytotoxicity testing was utilized against MCF-7 breast cancer cells via MTT cell viability assay. Antibacterial and antifungal activities were checked out according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines, and antioxidant properties were evaluated through scavenging 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radicals. Results showed the viability of breast cancer cell lines was reliant on concentration of heterocycles and time of incubation. Synthetic compounds exhibited excellent antibacterial and antifungal properties base on their minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC), and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC) values as well as high antioxidant activities according to their IC50 values. Higher anticancer and antibacterial properties were observed with compound 7; on the contrary, thiazole 5 had better antioxidant effects. The traditional surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Emim][BF4]) have been combined to create a novel efficient medium for chromogenic catalysis of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine with horseradish peroxidase in presence of H2O2. The results have shown the [Emim][BF4] in the mediums can promote the rate of formation of the blue chromogen, the SDS is responsible for the stabilization of the blue chromogen due to the electrostatic attraction between positively charged blue chromogen and the negatively charged surfactant. The SDS/[Emim][BF4] combination not only enhance catalytic activity of HRP remarkably but also stabilize the blue chromogen formed in the HRP oxidation of the substrate TMB compared to the conventional medium. Based on the superior combination of SDS and [Emim][BF4], the colorimetric assay for detecting HRP activity and H2O2 concentration was established. This work demonstrates a novel efficient medium for chromogenic catalysis with potential applications in biosensors and clinical diagnosis. 相似文献
