In this paper visualisation and direct velocity profile measurement experiments for a branched polypropylene melt in a 10:1 axisymmetric contraction demonstrate the onset of wall slip. Video processing of the flow shows the formation of vortices and their diminution with increasing flow rate. Numerical simulations using a multimode K-BKZ viscoelastic and a purely viscous (Cross) model—both of them incorporating a nonlinear slip law—were used to predict the flow kinematics and dynamics as well as to deduce the slip velocity function by performing fitting to the velocity profiles. It was found that the numerical predictions agree well with the experimental results for the velocity profiles, and vortex formation, growth and reduction. It is suggested that such experiments (visualisation of entrance flow and direct velocity profile measurement) can be useful in evaluating the validity of constitutive equations and slip laws in the flow of polymer melts through processing equipment. 相似文献

A new method for decreasing the attenuation of a shock wave emerging from an open-ended shock tube exit into a large free
space has been developed to improve the shock wave technique for cleaning deposits on the surfaces in industrial equipments
by changing the tube exit geometry. Three tube exits (the simple tube exit, a tube exit with ring and a coaxial tube exit)
were used to study the propagation processes of the shock waves. The detailed flow features were experimentally investigated
by use of a two-dimensional color schlieren method and by pressure measurements. By comparing the results for different tube
exits, it is shown that the expansion of the shock waves near the mouth can be restricted by using the tube exit with ring
or the coaxial tube exit. Thus, the attenuation of the shock waves is reduced. The time histories of overpressure have illustrated
that the best results are obtained for the coaxial tube exit. But the pressure signals for the tube exit with ring showed
comparable results with the advantage of a relatively simple geometry. The flow structures of diffracting shock waves have
also been simulated by using an upwind finite volume scheme based on a high order extension of Godunov's method as well as
an adaptive unstructured triangular mesh refinement/unrefinement algorithm. The numberical results agree remarkably with the

Micellar electrokinetic chromatography fingerprinting combined with quantification was successfully developed and applied to monitor the quality consistency of Weibizhi tablets, which is a classical compound preparation used to treat gastric ulcers. A background electrolyte composed of 57 mmol/L sodium borate, 21 mmol/L sodium dodecylsulfate and 100 mmol/L sodium hydroxide was used to separate compounds. To optimize capillary electrophoresis conditions, multivariate statistical analyses were applied. First, the most important factors influencing sample electrophoretic behavior were identified as background electrolyte concentrations. Then, a Box–Benhnken design response surface strategy using resolution index RF as an integrated response was set up to correlate factors with response. RF reflects the effective signal amount, resolution, and signal homogenization in an electropherogram, thus, it was regarded as an excellent indicator. In fingerprint assessments, simple quantified ratio fingerprint method was established for comprehensive quality discrimination of traditional Chinese medicines/herbal medicines from qualitative and quantitative perspectives, by which the quality of 27 samples from the same manufacturer were well differentiated. In addition, the fingerprint–efficacy relationship between fingerprints and antioxidant activities was established using partial least squares regression, which provided important medicinal efficacy information for quality control. Hirshfeld surfaces and two‐dimensional fingerprint plots are used to analyse the intermolecular interactions in two new phosphorothioic triamide structures, namely N,N′,N′′‐tris(3,4‐dimethylphenyl)phosphorothioic triamide acetonitrile hemisolvate, P(S)[NHC6H3‐3,4‐(CH3)2]3·0.5CH3CN or C24H30N3PS·0.5CH3CN, (I), and N,N′,N′′‐tris(4‐methylphenyl)phosphorothioic triamide–3‐methylpiperidinium chloride (1/1), P(S)[NHC6H4(4‐CH3)]3·[3‐CH3‐C5H9NH2]+·Cl− or C21H24N3PS·C6H14N+·Cl−, (II). The asymmetric unit of (I) consists of two independent phosphorothioic triamide molecules and one acetonitrile solvent molecule, whereas for (II), the asymmetric unit is composed of three components (molecule, cation and anion). In the structure of (I), the different components are organized into a six‐molecule aggregate through N—H...S and N—H...N hydrogen bonds. The components of (II) are aggregated into a two‐dimensional array through N—H...S and N—H...Cl hydrogen bonds. Moreover, interesting features of packing arise in this structure due to the presence of a double hydrogen‐bond acceptor (the S atom of the phosphorothioic triamide molecule) and of a double hydrogen‐bond donor (the N—H unit of the cation). For both (I) and (II), the full fingerprint plot of each component is asymmetric as a consequence of the presence of three fragments. These analyses reveal that H...H interactions [67.7 and 64.3% for the two symmetry‐independent phosphorothioic triamide molecules of (I), 30.7% for the acetonitrile solvent of (I), 63.8% in the phosphorothioic triamide molecule of (II) and 62.9% in the 3‐methylpiperidinium cation of (II)] outnumber the other contacts for all the components in both structures, except for the chloride anion of (II), which only receives the Cl...H contact. The phosphorothioic triamide molecules of both structures include unsaturated C atoms, thus presenting C...H/H...C interactions: 17.6 and 21% for the two symmetry‐independent phosphorothioic triamide molecules in (I), and 22.7% for the phosphorothioic triamide molecule of (II). Furthermore, the N—H...S hydrogen bonds in both (I) and (II), and the N—H...Cl hydrogen bonds in (II), are the most prominent interactions, appearing as large red spots on the Hirshfeld surface maps. The N...H/H...N contacts in structure (I) are considerable, whereas for (II), they give a negligible contribution to the total interactions in the system. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to raise the quality control level of Scutellaria indica. A quick and stable ultra performance liquid chromatography method was established for the fingerprint analysis of S. indica. A total of 32 common peaks were marked with 10 batches S. indica detected in 30?min using similarity evaluation system for chromatographic fingerprint of traditional Chinese medicine (2004A version). Besides, a high-resolution mass spectrometer was used to identify flavonoids in S. indica. A total of 27 flavonoids in S. indica were identified. And a series of fragmentation regularities were obtained, which could be used for the identification of other flavonoids. Therefore, the established liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometer method could be successfully utilized for the quality control of S. indica. 相似文献

A novel averagely linear‐quantified fingerprint method was proposed and successfully applied to monitor the quality consistency of alkaloids in powdered poppy capsule extractive. Averagely linear‐quantified fingerprint method provided accurate qualitative and quantitative similarities for chromatographic fingerprints of Chinese herbal medicines. The stability and operability of the averagely linear‐quantified fingerprint method were verified by the parameter r . The average linear qualitative similarity (improved based on conventional qualitative “Similarity”) was used as a qualitative criterion in the averagely linear‐quantified fingerprint method, and the average linear quantitative similarity was introduced as a quantitative one. was able to identify the difference in the content of all the chemical components. In addition, was found to be highly correlated to the contents of two alkaloid compounds (morphine and codeine). A simple flow injection analysis was developed for the determination of antioxidant capacity in Chinese Herbal Medicines, which was based on the scavenging of 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl radical by antioxidants. The fingerprint–efficacy relationship linking chromatographic fingerprints and antioxidant activities was investigated utilizing orthogonal projection to latent structures method, which provided important pharmacodynamic information for Chinese herbal medicines quality control. The quality consistency of Yinqiaojiedu tablets (YQJDTs) was monitored by extracting their electrophoretic fingerprint and marker compound data that were obtained using capillary electrophoresis. To select the suitable background electrolyte, wing‐shape method was proposed. A background electrolyte composed of 103.1 mM boric acid, 51.6 mM sodium borate, 9.8 mM disodium hydrogen phosphate, and 15.6 mM sodium dihydrogen phosphate was used to separate compounds. Under the optimized conditions, the content of three marker compounds was determined in 25 YQJDT samples. The capillary electrophoresis fingerprints were developed simultaneously, then 25 samples from two manufacturers were clearly divided into two clusters based on the principal component analysis. In fingerprint assessments, systematic quantified fingerprint method was adopted for integrative quality discrimination of YQJDTs from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives, by which the qualities of 25 samples were well differentiated. In addition, partial least squares model was established to explore fingerprint–efficacy relationship between the fingerprints and the antioxidant activities in vitro, providing clinically useful information for quality control. The proposed method was reliable and comprehensive, which could be used for a valuable reference to monitor the quality consistency of traditional Chinese medicines. 相似文献

Background oriented schlieren for flow visualisation in hypersonic impulse facilities 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Experiments to demonstrate the use of the background-oriented schlieren (BOS) technique in hypersonic impulse facilities are
reported. BOS uses a simple optical set-up consisting of a structured background pattern, an electronic camera with a high
shutter speed and a high intensity light source. The visualization technique is demonstrated in a small reflected shock tunnel
with a Mach 4 conical nozzle, nozzle supply pressure of 2.2 MPa and nozzle supply enthalpy of 1.8 MJ/kg. A 20° sharp circular
cone and a model of the MUSES-C re-entry body were tested. Images captured were processed using PIV-style image analysis to
visualize variations in the density field. The shock angle on the cone measured from the BOS images agreed with theoretical
calculations to within 0.5°. Shock standoff distances could be measured from the BOS image for the re-entry body. Preliminary
experiments are also reported in higher enthalpy facilities where flow luminosity can interfere with imaging of the background
pattern.
