Precision molar conductances of benzoic, o-toluic, 2,6-dimethylbenzoic, 2,3,6-trimethylbenzoic, and, o-fluorobenzoic acids have been determined in aqueous solution as a function of temperature and of concentration up to near saturation (<0.035 M). At the higher concentrations molar conductances are found to be less than anticipated for the simple dissociation of a 1-1 electrolyte. Although the deviations are only 1% or less they have been interpreted to show that these acids are dimerized in solution. The interpretation includes an assumption that the dimer ionizes to produce a triple ion. Increasing numbers of methyl groups lead to increasing dimerization. For those acids with two ortho groups the dimerization increases with increasing temperature while the other three show decreasing dimerization with increasing temperature. Temperature functions have been determined for the dimerization constants and from these functions standard changes in enthalpy, entropy, and heat capacity have been determined. Comparisons are made with dimerization studies in non-aqueous solvents. From these as well as the behavior of benzene in water it is concluded that a major factor driving the dimerization is hydrophobic interaction. To provide a limiting conductance of the triple ion needed in the dimerization calculations a conductance study was also made for o-Phenylbenzoic acid on the assumption that its anion provides an approximate model of the triple ion.  相似文献

Here we report the preparation and structural characteristics of self-assembling peptide tubelets composed of 32-membered rings formed of alternating alpha-amino acids and cis-3-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acids. The tubelets possess a partial hydrophobic core environment, provided by the projection of the cyclohexane C2 methylene moiety into the lumen, and a Van der Waals pore diameter of about 7 A.  相似文献

A new way for synthesizing styrenic type of chiral resins grafting to multidentate ligand has been found. The synthetic scheme is proved to be practical by means of elemental anaysis, IR spectra and metal adsorbility. The resolving power of the new chiral ligand resins coordinated with copper (Ⅱ) as stationary phases has been discussed based on HPLC, and some points of view about the compositions of mobil phase and mechanism of resolution are presented.  相似文献

The effect of ohmic and conventional heat processing of different food products on their chemical and physical parameters was studied. Depending on the food being analysed, parameters such as pH, total solids, ash, titratable acidity, ascorbic acid, total sugars, total fatty acids, total phenolic compounds, and anthocyanins content were determined before and after ohmic and conventional pasteurization techniques and the results were compared using one-way analysis of variance. In goat milk samples treated by ohmic technology the pH value (6.58) and total fatty acids content in milk fat (86.5 mass %) were comparable to those found in milk treated by conventional process, however, ohmically treated samples presented a lower content of lactic acid, 0.13 %. In cloudberry jam samples treated by ohmic technology the results of some of the main parameters tested, such as total sugar content 46.1 mass %, ascorbic acid content 2.83 mass %, and titratable acidity 6.01 mass % (as citric acid) did not show significant differences when compared with samples treated by conventional technology. Five ionization potentials for thesp,ac andsp, sp conformers of (acetylthiomethyl)trifluorosilane MeC(O)SCH2SiE3 and six ionization potentials for the same conformers of (benzoylthiomethyl)trifluorosilane PhC(O)CH2SiF3 were calculated by the semiempirical AM1 method. The resulting values are in good agreement with the data of photoelectron spectroscopy only for thesp.ac conformers. The structure of the preferred conformer of (acetylthiomethyl)trifluorosilane was confirmed by measurement of its dipole moment in the gas phase. The influence of the long-range inductive effect (field effect) on the energy of nonbonding electrons of the carbonyl oxygen atom in the series of acetic acid derivatives was observed. A simple gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method has been developed for the characterization of frankincense in archaeological samples. After trimethylsilylation of the methanolic extract, 15 triterpenoids have been found among the chemical constituents of commercial olibanum (alpha-boswellic acid, 3-O-acetyl-alpha-boswellic acid, beta-boswellic acid, 3-O-acetyl-beta-boswellic acid, alpha-amyrin, beta-amyrin, lupeol, 3-epi-beta-amyrin, 3-epi-beta-amyrin, 3-epi-lupeol, alpha-amyrenone, beta-amyrenone, lupenone, 3alpha-hydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-24-oic acid and 3-O-acetyl-hydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-24-oic acid). These compounds have been unequivocally identified by retention time and mass spectral comparison with pure standards previously isolated, for the most part, in our laboratory. Within these triterpenes, acid ones, the corresponding O-acetates, and their products of degradation were found to be characteristic of frankincense (Boswellia resin). The presence of these unusual triterpenic compounds in an archaeological resinous sample, recovered during excavations from Dahshour site (Egypt, XIIth Dynasty), enabled us to identify unambiguously frankincense resin among several other materials. Additional chromatographic peaks of this sample were assigned to broad chemical classes using retention time and mass spectra features.  相似文献

Prochiral alkenes, aldehydes, and ketones constitute the most frequently used starting materials for enantioselective organic syntheses. Protocols often involve chiral binding agents or Lewis acids that can give two diastereomeric adducts, the ratios of which are measures of chiral recognition. With π adducts, the diastereomers differ in the enantioface of the C?C or O?C group bound to the Lewis acid. This review provides the first comprehensive analysis of such equilibria and related binding phenomena with chiral transition metal Lewis acids. An extensive body of data from the authors' laboratory for complexes of the pyramidal rhenium fragment [(η5?C5H5)Re(No)(PPh3)]+ ( I ) affords particular insight. Literature data for other complexes are also summarized. A general model for chiral recognition based upon the relative steric properties of four quadrants is presented. This enables binding selectivities to be individually and rationally optimized for different classes of ligands. Electronic effects are also identified and correlated with specific structural properties. Relationships between binding equilibria, reactivity, and product configurations are discussed.  相似文献

The stability constants (log K), the reaction enthalpy( H) and entropy ( S) of the complexesformed between some amino acids (glycine, L-alanine,L-valine, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan,L-threonine, and L-lysine) and peptides (glycyl-glycine,glycyl-L-alanine, glycyl-L-leucine, glycyl-L-phenylalanine,L-leucyl-glycine, L-leucyl-L-alanine, glycyl-L-valine,L-leucyl-glycyl-glycine, and glycyl-glycyl-glycine) withp-sulfonatocalix[4]arene and hexasodiump-sulfonatocalix[6]arene in aqueous solutions by meansof calorimetric titration have been investigated. The reportedresults demonstrate that the amino acids and peptides under studyform complexes with both p-sulfonatocalix[4]areneand hexasodium p-sulfonatocalix[6]arene. In the case of theamino acids and peptides the complexation with water-solublecalixarenes in aqueous solution is favored by enthalpiccontributions and disfavored by entropic contributions. However,no influence of the ring size of the calixarenes upon thecomplexation is observed. By comparison with the reaction ofthe sodium salt of phenol-4-sulfonic acid with amino acids amacrocyclic effect in case of the calixarenes is possible.  相似文献

The solubility of glycine, -alanine, -valine, -leucine, and -isoleucine in water was measured at 298.15 K and pressures up to 400 MPa. The standard deviation of the logarithm of the solubility is 0.001–0.003, equal to or better than the accuracy of atmospheric pressure measurement in the literature (0.001–0.05). A variety of solubility phenomena were observed. The solubility of glycine decreased with increasing pressure, whereas that of -alanine increased. The -valine and -isoleucine have a solubility maximum at around 100 MPa, and -leucine seems to exhibit a solid-phase phase transition at around 200 MPa. Pressure coefficient of the solubilities at 0.10 MPa is compared with that thermodynamically estimated in reference to aqueous density measurements of glycine and -alanine at 298.15 K and 0.10 MPa, supporting a reliability of our high-pressure measurements.  相似文献
