In this work, we report on poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) hydrogels obtained by a low heat curing reaction. These materials are suitable for in situ preparation and therefore endowed with a potential for several biomedical applications. The novel procedure adopted involves as the first step the synthesis of a soluble oligomeric PHEMA precursor containing polymerizable functions as side substituents. As the second step, the precursor is dissolved in equal amounts of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and water, to form a viscous but still injectable syrup. A low temperature water soluble initiator is then added. The curing reaction starts promptly and is completed within few minutes. During the entire process the internal temperature never rises above 40 degrees C. Preliminary mechanical characterizations performed on the hydrogels in their water-swollen state and diffusion tests in absorption/desorption experiments clearly indicated that on all respects the novel hydrogels are comparable with conventional PHEMA hydrogels obtained according to literature from HEMA in the presence of divinyl crosslinkers. However, the much shorter curing time combined with the far lower curing temperature endow the new hydrogels with a higher potential in view of specific surgical requirements, and particularly for in situ preparation. 相似文献

制备了适于配制紫外光固化涂料的环氧丙烯酸酯,研究了反应温度、阻聚剂、催化剂等因素对环氧树脂与丙烯酸反应的影响;讨论了反应机理和动力学;并利用红外光谱观察了产物的紫外光固化行为。季铵盐能有效地催化环氧树脂和丙烯酸的反应,当其用量为0.6%~1.2%时,在90~110℃反应4.5~8小时后,环氧基转化率大于97%。由此配制的光固化涂料经紫外光辐照能快速固化。 相似文献

Natural rubber is reinforced with a novel type of grass fiber (Cyperus Tegetum Rox b). The effects of fiber loading of different mesh sizes on curing characteristics and mechanical properties of grass fiber filled natural rubber composite are studied. Since 400 mesh grass fiber loaded natural rubber composite shows superior mechanical properties, therefore the effect of silane coupling agent was studied for this particular composite. Here composites were prepared by using water leached grass fiber. Optimum cure time increases with the increase in fiber loading but the change in scorch time is less. The same trend of increase in optimum cure time is observed in the presence of Si69. But the value is higher compared to that of rubber composite without Si69. With increase in the fiber loading, modulus and hardness of the composite increases but tensile strength decreases. The mechanical properties of the composite, namely moduli at 200 and 300% elongation and hardness increase in the presence of Si69 but tensile strength is less compared to that of the composite without Si69. Summary The retention of benzene derivatives with nonpolar and polar substituents on a porous methacrylate copolymer containing epoxy groups using both nonpolar and polar eluents was investigated. When n-hexane is used as the eluent, the retention of n-alkylbenzenes and polymethylbenzenes is weaker than that of benzene. In the case of benzene derivatives containing polar functional groups their capacity ratios (k) on this porous polymer increases approximately linearly with the increase of the adsorbate molecules dipole moment. The retention characteristics of the methacrylate copolymer were compared with that of a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer and silica gels with a hydroxylated surface and with a surface modified by chemically bonded alkylsilyl groups. 相似文献

Synthesis of silanized polyether urethane hybrid systems. Study of the curing process through hydrogen bonding interactions 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Different types of silanized polyurethanes (SPUR) were prepared in two ways: the first type (a), by reacting a polyether diol with an isocyanatesilane and the second type (b) by reacting it with diisocyanate (IPDI) and afterwards with aminosilane. These systems are able to cure with atmospheric moisture and, as a consequence, a tridimensional hybrid structure is formed where the inorganic and organic phases are bonded with covalent bonds. The evolution of the curing process in both systems has been monitored by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, through the changes observed in the carbonyl stretching vibration region. The results obtained show that the SPURs of kind (b) present stronger hydrogen bonding interactions as a consequence of urea groups present in the final structure. Moreover, given the proximity of both urethane and urea groups to alkoxysilane end groups, during the alkoxysilane curing process these groups are forced to approximate themselves even further and therefore the reticulation process leads to an increase of the self association of urethane and urea groups.Finally, DSC has been used to measure Tg values of the systems studied before and after the curing process. The obtained results have confirmed the main conclusions obtained in FTIR analysis. 相似文献
