Thermal and chemical nanofractal relaxation

We studied shape relaxation of nano-fractal islands, during annealing, after their growth from antimony cluster deposition on graphite surface. Annealing at 180^°C shows evidence of an increase of the fractal branch width with time followed by branch fragmentation, without changing the fractal dimension. The time evolution of the width of the arm suggests the surface self-diffusion mechanism as the main relaxation process. With Monte Carlo simulations, we confirmed the observed behavior. Comparison is done with our previous results on fragmentation of nano-fractal silver islands when impurity added to the incident cluster promotes rapid fragmentation by surface self-diffusion enhancement [1].     

Electromagnetic properties of strange baryons in a relativistic quark model

We present some of our results for the electromagnetic properties of excited Σ hyperons, computed within the framework of the Bonn constituent-quark model, which is based on the Bethe-Salpeter approach. The seven parameters entering the model are fitted against the best-known baryon masses. Accordingly, the results for the form factors and helicity amplitudes are genuine predictions. We compare with the scarce experimental data available and discuss the processes in which Σ ^*'s may play an important role.     

Front roughening in three-dimensional imbibition

We investigate the structure and dynamics of the interface between two immiscible liquids in a three-dimensional disordered porous medium. We apply a phase-field model that includes explicitly disorder and discuss both spontaneous and forced imbibition. The structure of the interface is dominated by a length scale ξ_× which arises from liquid conservation. We further show that disorder in the capillary and permeability act on different length scales and give rise to different scalings and structures of the interface properties. We conclude with a range of applications.     

Nonlinear second-order equations with functional implicit impulses and nonlinear functional boundary conditions

In this paper we deal with nonlinear second-order boundary value problems with impulses. The impulsive functions depend implicitly on the different considered variables and the boundary value conditions are nonlinear. In both cases functional dependence on the solution is allowed. The existence results follow from the existence of a pair of well-ordered lower and upper solutions.     

A comparative study on the interaction between tin(II) porphyrin and selected group 8B metals for potential application as reduction catalysts

We study the interaction between tin(II) porphyrin (SnPor) with platinum and non-precious Group 8B metals (iron, cobalt and nickel) by density functional theory and discuss the electronic properties of the resulting products. We also model the interaction of the resulting compounds with water where applicable. Our studies indicate that, SnPor-Ni possesses electronic properties similar to SnPor-Pt, suggesting that it may possess similar photocatalytic properties for reduction reactions, such as converting water to hydrogen gas.

设W(1n)W2(n)…W(nn)是严平稳随即序列{Xn,n 1}的前几个变量的顺序统计量,Nn Mn是两正整值r.v,n 1.在较弱一些的混合条件下,本文给出了W(NMn)n标准化后的极限分布,从而使一些提法更趋一般化,主要结果推进了Rao(1984)和张国胜(1993)的工作.由于混合条件的减弱,使得对m-相关和正态平稳过程的具体应用讨论更加充分.     

ℙmax variations related to slaloms

We prove the iteration lemmata, which are the key lemmata to show that extensions by Pmax variations satisfy absoluteness for Π₂-statements in the structure 〈H (ω ₂), ∈, NS_{ω 1}, R 〉 for some set R of reals in L (ℝ), for the following statements: (1) The cofinality of the null ideal is ℵ₁. 微纳米加工技术在纳米物理与器件研究中的应用

物质在纳米尺度下可能呈现出与体材料不同的物理特件，这正是纳米科技发展的基础之一。要想探索在纳米尺度下材料物埋性质的变化规律及可能的应用领域，离不开相应的技术手段，微纳米加工技术作为当今高技术发展的重要技术领域之一，是实现功能人工纳米结构与器件微纳米化的基础。本文根据几个不同的应用领域，介绍了微纳米加工技术在纳米物理与器件研究领域的应用。     

Conductivity and dielectric properties of sol–gel derived porous zirconia

The 8-mol percentage Y₂O₃-stabilized Porous Zirconia was prepared using sol–gel method. Zirconium oxalate gel was prepared by the addition of appropriate amount of oxalic acid solution into the 1 M aqueous solution of zirconium-oxy chloride. A cubic phase zirconia powder was obtained by calcination and milling of the zirconium oxalate gel. Crystallization temperature was found about 450 °C from the Differential thermal analysis. The phase analysis by X-ray diffraction shows the presence of cubic phase. Pellets sintered at 1,350 °C were highly porous, and the electrical conductivity was found with lower value due to the porosity, and the hardness was about 8.0 GPa. General synchronization dynamics of coupled Van der Pol–Duffing oscillators

This paper considers the general synchronization dynamics of coupled Van der Pol–Duffing oscillators. The linear and nonlinear stability analysis on the synchronization process is derived through the Whittaker method and the Floquet theory in addition to the multiple time scales method. A stability map displaying different dynamical states of the system is performed. Numerical simulation is carried out to support and to complement the accuracy of the analytical treatment.
