Titanium dioxide (TiO2) and, in particular, its anatase polymorph, is widely studied for photocatalytic H2 production. In the present work, we examine the importance of reactive facets of anatase crystallites on the photocatalytic H2 evolution from aqueous methanol solutions. For this, we synthesized anatase TiO2 nanocrystals with a large amount of either {001} facets, that is, nanosheets, or {101} facets, that is, octahedral nanocubes, and examined their photocatalytic H2 evolution and then repeated this procedure with samples where Pt co-catalyst is present on all facets. Octahedral nanocubes with abundant {101} facets produce >4 times more H2 than nanosheets enriched in {001} facets if the reaction is carried out under co-catalyst-free conditions. For samples that carry Pt co-catalyst on both {001} and {101} facets, faceting loses entirely its significance. This demonstrates that the beneficial role of faceting, namely the introduction of {101} facets that act as electron transfer mediator is relevant only for co-catalyst-free TiO2 surfaces. 相似文献

直接运用无网格Galerkin方法求解对流占优的非线性对流扩散方程及纯对流方程,会出现数值伪振荡现象。本文基于无网格Galerkin方法,构造了MFSUPG(Meshfree Streamline Upwind Petrov-Galerkin),MF-GLS(Meshfree Galerkin Least-Square),MFSGS(Meshfree Sub-Grid Scale)及MFLS(Meshfree Least-Square)四种稳定化方案。数值实验表明:四种稳定化方案中,MFLS的通用性最强。耦合MFLS的无网格Galerkin方法能很好地求解对流占优的非线性对流扩散方程及纯对流方程,具有计算精度高、稳定性好、前后处理方便、算法实施简单的优点,并能捕捉解的大梯度变化。 相似文献

The second-order quasilinear boundary value problems are considered when the nonlinear term is singular and the limit growth function at the infinite exists. With the introduction of the height function of the nonlinear term on a bounded set and the consideration of the integration of the height function, the existence of the solution is proven. We prove that any C1-stable weakly shadowable volume-preserving diffeomorphism defined on a compact manifold displays a dominated splitting E ⊕ F. Moreover, both E and F are volume-hyperbolic. The Delay Constrained Relay Node Placement Problem (DCRNPP) frequently arises in the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) design. In WSN, Sensor Nodes are placed across a target geographical region to detect relevant signals. These signals are communicated to a central location, known as the Base Station, for further processing. The DCRNPP aims to place the minimum number of additional Relay Nodes at a subset of Candidate Relay Node locations in such a manner that signals from various Sensor Nodes can be communicated to the Base Station within a pre-specified delay bound. In this paper, we study the structure of the projection polyhedron of the problem and develop valid inequalities in form of the node-cut inequalities. We also derive conditions under which these inequalities are facet defining for the projection polyhedron. We formulate a branch-and-cut algorithm, based upon the projection formulation, to solve DCRNPP optimally. A Lagrangian relaxation based heuristic is used to generate a good initial solution for the problem that is used as an initial incumbent solution in the branch-and-cut approach. Computational results are reported on several randomly generated instances to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. 相似文献

A low order characteristic‐nonconforming finite element method is proposed for solving a two‐dimensional convection‐dominated transport problem. On the basis of the distinguish property of element, that is, the consistency error can be estimated as order O(h2), one order higher than that of its interpolation error, the superclose result in broken energy norm is derived for the fully discrete scheme. In the process, we use the interpolation operator instead of the so‐called elliptic projection, which is an indispensable tool in the traditional finite element analysis. Furthermore, the global superconvergence is obtained by using the interpolated postprocessing technique. Lastly, some numerical experiments are provided to verify our theoretical analysis. In this paper, we study a posteriori error estimates of the upwind symmetric interior penalty Galerkin (SIPG) method for the control constrained optimal control problems governed by linear diffusion–convection–reaction partial differential equations. Residual based error estimators are used for the state, the adjoint and the control. An adaptive mesh refinement indicated by a posteriori error estimates is applied.
