Surprising 1,7-cyclization of vinyl carbonyl ylides generated from reaction of indanetrione with vinyl diazo compounds

Reactions of tricarbonyl compounds with vinyl diazo compounds 2 were carried out. Reaction of 1,2,3-indanetrione with 2a,b,c gave the spiroindan-1,3-dione-2,2′-benzodihydrooxepin 7a,b,c, but not normal products oxirane and dihydrofuran derivatives expected from intermediate vinyl carbonyl ylides 4. Formation of 7 requires isomerization of vinyl carbonyl ylides 4 bearing a (Z)-cyanostyryl group to unstable (E)-form 5 and subsequent cyclization to oxepin 6 followed by a 1,5-hydrogen shift. However, reaction of 2 with six-membered cyclic tricarbonyl compounds 1,2,3-trioxo-2,3-dihydrophenalene 11 and dimethylalloxane 13 gave the dioxole 12 and the dihydrofuran 14, respectively, typical products expected from vinyl carbonyl ylides.     

Reaction of 3-Acetyl-4,6,6-trimethyl-5,6-dihydro-2-pyrone with Carboxylic Acid Hydrazides

The reaction of 3-acetyl-4,6,6-trimethyl-5,6-dihydro-2-pyrone with the hydrazides of a series of carboxylic acids led to the synthesis of 5-alkyl(cyanomethyl)carbonyl-3,5a,7,7-tetramethylpyrazolino-4,5-c]tetrahydro-2-pyrones, which are the products from cyclization of the intermediately formed alkyl(cyanomethyl)hydrazones of 3-acetyl-4,6,6-trimethyl-5,6-dihydro-2-pyran. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 7, pp. 998–1001, July, 2005.     

High-performances membranes for pervaporation I. Poly(vinyl alcohol)–poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) blends

Dense membranes were prepared from poly(vinyl alcohol)–poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVA–PVP) blends of different compositions and studied in swelling and dehydration by pervaporation of three organic solvents contaminated by 5 wt% water. The swelling generally increases with the PVP content. No extraction occurs in water–tetrahydrofuran (THF) and water–methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) mixtures. In ethanol containing 10 wt% of water, there is no extraction for blends containing less than 40 wt% PVP and an increasing extraction beyond this PVP content. The pervaporation flux of the water–ethanol mixture increases drastically at the same threshold whereas the water permselectivity falls to a low level. The values of the diffusion and permeability coefficients determined from transient permeation of the test water–ethanol mixture exhibit a similar sudden increase at the same PVP content threshold. This singular behavior of the blend membranes is interpreted by a strong affinity of the PVP component to ethanol, combined with a disappearance of crystallites in the blend at this threshold. Consequently the amorphous membrane can swell freely according to the affinity of the PVP component, leading to the observed behavior.     

氮杂冠醚研究Ⅶ、双仲胺型氮杂冠醚对过渡金属离子的选择性萃取作用

合成了五种新型双仲胺型氦杂冠醚，研究了它们对过渡金属离子进行液—液萃取，并用原子吸收法测定其浓度。实验结果表明：这类冠醚对Ａｇ￣＋、Ｐｄ￣（２＋）、和Ｐｔ￣（４＋）等贵金属离子有较强的选择配位性能，对选择性分离这些金属离子有重要的意义。     

Crown-containing butadienyl dyes 8. Structures and complexation of chromogenic dithia-15(18)-crown-5(6) ethers

The structures of new butadienyl dyes of the benzothiazole series containing the dithia-15-crown-5 (2a) or dithia-18-crown-6 (2b) fragments were established by X-ray diffraction. Complexation of dyes 2a,b with Hg²⁺, Pb²⁺, Cd²⁺, Ag⁺, Zn²⁺, and alkaline-earth cations in aqueous-acetonitrile solutions was studied by spectrophotometry. At a high percentage of water in solutions (P _w ≈ 50%), these dyes have a very low ability to bind Pb²⁺ cations (logK < 2) and virtually do not bind Cd²⁺, Zn²⁺, and alkaline-earth cations. At the same time, these dyes form stable 1: 1 complexes with Hg²⁺ and Ag⁺ cations at all P _w. The stability constants of complexes with the Ag⁺ cation increase with increasing P _w because the free energy of hydration of this cation is much lower than the free energy of solvation in acetonitrile. In the P _w range from 0 to 75%, the stability constants of the complexes of dyes 2a,b with the Hg²⁺ cation are larger than those of the corresponding complexes with the Ag⁺ cation by more than four orders of magnitude. 马来酸酐与乙酸乙烯酯交替共聚合反应的研究

本文研究了马来酸酐（MAn）在过氧化苯甲酰（BP）引发作用下与醋酸乙烯酯（VAc）的交替共聚反应。红外光谱证明了交替共聚物的结构，分析结果表明共聚物是由反应单体技1：1摩尔比例组成。当c（BPO）＝6．8×10~（－3）moi／L，c（VAc）＝3．4×10~（－3）mol／L，p（MAn）＝32．7g／L，63～65℃反应18小时，转化率可达92％以上。     

Thermal stability and degradation of starch derivatives

Thermal behaviour of different starch derivatives, i.e. starch esters and ethers having degree of substitution (DS) in the range of 0.02–0.18 were studied. Potato, maize and wheat starches were used. Measurements were carried out by coupled thermal analysis/ mass spectrometry method (STA-MS) in air atmosphere. The major DTG peak during the investigation for starch derivatives is observed below 300°C. The mass loss up to a temperature of 300°C is about 50%. The most abundant ions found areH₂O⁺ and CO₂ ⁺. For the studied starch derivatives with a low degree of substitution (DS<0.18) no correlation was found between thermal stability and the level of substitution regardless of the nature of substitution.     

Synthesis of functionalized acetophenones by [3 + 3] cyclizations of 1,3-bis-silyl enol ethers with 2-acetyl-3-silyloxyalk-2-en-1-ones

The TiCl₄ mediated cyclization of 1,3-bis-silyl enol ethers with 2-acetyl-1-silyloxybut-1-en-3-one and 3-acetyl-4-silyloxypent-3-en-2-one, readily prepared from 3-formyl(acetylacetone) and triacetylmethane, afforded a variety of functionalized acetophenones.     

Bis-substituted benzo-15-crown-5 ethers as ion carriers in potassium ion-selective electrodes

Lipophilic bis-substituted ester and ether derivatives of benzo-15-crown-5 have been synthesised. The correlation between the structure and potentiometric ion-selectivity has been studied in PVC membrane ion-selective electrodes. An ion-selective potassium sensitive electrode based on 4,5-bis (biphenyloxymethyl)benzo-15-crown-5 exhibited the best electrode properties. The detection limit was loga _K = -5.4; logK _K,Na ^ppot = -3.5. The effect of the lipophilicity of neutral carriers upon electrode performance has been also discussed.     

Determination of the diastereomers of vitamin K1

A method is described for the gas-chromatographic determination of the diastereomers of vitamin K₁ (phylloquinone) in the form of their dihydro dimethyl ethers. The reported method of derivatization and chromatographic analysis in conjunction with optical rotation measurements are useful approaches for characterization of vitamin K₁ samples with respect to their origin.
